"Any enemy of Thrune is a friend of ours," Leora tells Aldan quietly as they walk. "We're actually looking for Octavio too, and we have an idea of where he might be." She looks around to make sure they aren't being followed or observed. The creepy atmosphere of Shadowsquare is putting her on edge.

She also takes a look at Aldan to see if he's injured from his stay in the doghouse. If he's injured, Leora will cast cure light wounds.

Seeing that Falina and the prisoner made it away, Leora holds her ground for now. Fleeing at this point would only make the hellknights wonder why the Ravens suddenly decided to run.

And she takes moment to study the hellknight who noted her name. She wonders if she'd met him at the Thrashing Badger before or something.

A wolf, glowing with a gold aura, appears next to Davina. It tries to bite and trip her Hellknight foe. Leora hopes it can knock over a few Hellknights in case the Ravens need to make a quick getaway.

She winces as the Hellknight repeats her name, but doesn't have time to think about what it means. Instead, she casts a healing spell and steps backwards towards Arani. Channel positive, the PCs except Falina heal for 10.

"Yeah, just let the prisoner go and we'll all back off!" Leora tries to sound as fierce as Arani and show that there are lots of people in the crowd who will fight back, but her obvious concern for her injured friends spoils the effect.

"Uh oh... are we in over our heads?" Leora mutters to T'chazzar, as she sees how badly Davina is wounded from just one of their foes. Surprised at the speed of the Hellknight's response, she's unsure how well this fight will go for the Ravens.

She mixes something in her flask as she begins casting a spell. "A pinch of this, and shaken, not stirred..." Leora tries to use the cover of the crowd around her to keep the enemy from getting an opportunity to stab her while she works.

Cayden, please help us here, we're up against pretty stiff odds. Leora remembers one other spell she has that might keep one of the hellknights out of the fight. She pretends to mix a potion in a flask and casts a spell on the furthest hell knight she can see across the square.

"Yuck. We had a hard time when we broke Jessi out, and there were way less guards. I can conjure some mist for confusion, and maybe summon an animal to distract or keep the dogs busy. Any other ideas?" Leora quietly asks the Ravens.

She wonders if the additional security is because they were able to break Jessi out, or if it's because the hellknight is a much more important prisoner.

Leora would like to go to a tavern or restaurant near the dog housing and talk to people nearby about if they know who's in the dog houses or any rumors about the Order of the Torrent. She will buy drinks or snacks for the folks she's chatting with.

"With the Order of the Torrent being disbanded, did any of them end up in trouble? Did they leave Kintargo or did they end up locked up or something? "

"That would be awesome if you came with us, if you're able! Seems pretty straightforward. Except the part where we break someone out of a doghouse or sneak out to the shrine." Leora frowns, thinking about how they can break a second person out of a dog house.

Wow, that's quite the report, Leora says to Turl, offering him a beer after all that talking.

Setrona runs a tavern, so she's fine by me. I don't see any harm in meeting with her. Maybe she can put us in touch with some of the former hellknights and maybe they have some news on the folks who went missing on the Night of Ashes.

Leora would be interested in the headband of inspired wisdom +2. She could use the +1 chainmail or +1 breastplate but if someone who does more melee would use them, they get first dibs! Leora already has a cloak of resistance.

GM, does the money total at the top include the things like "100 gp in assorted coins," or is that in addition?

Leora sips some coffee in the cafe while her friends bail out the halflings. She's not happy to be sitting around doing nothing while they could be caught and have who-knows-what happen to them. But she's relieved when Davina comes by to get her, and they rejoin the shackled "slaves."

Leora struggles not to show her fury at the chained up halflings, reminding herself that they're still undercover.

Hi again, I'm back! We are all home from the hospital and doing well. I should be able to post fairly regularly again. Looks like this is a decent point for Leora to jump back into the story line again too.

Hi guys! Baby was born this morning at 3am! Will probably be out for a couple days while we are at the hospital and getting settled at home

We actually have been at the hospital since Wed. I got into a little fender bender on my way home from work. Doctor wanted me to come in for observation and even though everything looked fine, they induced me since it was just about my due date anyway.

"Thanks for letting us stay here, Davina," Leora says, glad they have some place to stay now that the Nest was discovered.

To Arani, she says "Yeah, welcome to the Silver Ravens! Nothing makes you get to know people better like fighting for your lives against the forces of evil!"

Leora is also glad to rest at Davina's place, after her near-death experience, and all of the stuff the Ravens had been through just in the last day.

"I'm not particularly good at hiding in crowds or disguising myself. I could hang out at another coffee shop, restaurant, or tavern nearby in case you need backup though." Leora tries to remember if there are other places she could hang out unobtrusively near the guard tower, since it is fairly close to Laria's.

"$#*@, this is totally our fault, too," Leora adds once they are in the safety of Eradon Manor. "That imp thing saw us, and we didn't even warn Laria. I mean, I know it comes along with letting people like us live in your basement, but still..." Leora swirls the tea around in her teacup, too rattled to drink it.

"You're right, Davina, let's see what we can find out. Where they're taking Laria, or what they'll do to her."

If other Ravens are going, Leora is willing to split into two smaller groups.

Leora suggests asking some of the students who might have frequented Longroads Coffeehouse about what happened. She casually asks some of the students what happened to Longroads and Laria, and where they get their coffee now. If it fits with the flow of conversation, she'll press for more information about where Laria and her staff might be, and what the sort of punishment goes with this type of crime. If the students seem like the partying types, she offers them a drink from her flask as a friendly gesture.

I have the loot list linked in my signature if that's helpful. I tried to keep track of where stuff was from, but I'm sure I missed stuff. We have plenty to ID and sell beyond the potions and scrolls too!

For the short term, Leora definitely wants to sell some of the stuff we've collected. GM, let me know how you want to do it - it's been awhile, I think we talked about having Laria appraise it and/or helping sell some of it. We've built up quite a stockpile, and I'm sure we could all use some spending money.

We also have Nox's stuff to identify (magical cloak, glaive, and chainmail) if anyone wants to take a shot.

As for the longer term plot, I'd like to go to book 2. Like T'chazzar said, I feel like the Ravens have been making a lot of progress and are ready to take the rebellion to the next level!

GM, I'll respond to the PM tomorrow, thinking on it!

Leora takes a close look at the web box. "Wow, this thing is pretty crazy! I heard a story about something like this from a traveler staying at the Thrashing Badger once. I think it's a cubic gate, that links to the Plane of Shadow. But it's mostly used up. I don't think I can fix it or disable it, but we might be able to sell it. The lady visiting the Badger told me about all the things she'd like to do with the chains there on the shadow plane. I figured it was just a fantasy, but I guess it does really exist..." She goes on to explain possible ways it might be disabled, if someone else in the group felt more confident dispel magic, disable device, spellcraft, or use magic device

"Yeah, Nox was one of Thrune's good buddies. Hopefully he doesn't miss her too much and start sniffing into what we did here." She pauses for a moment, staring at Thrune's lieutenant. "That was intense. Anybody need a drink? Thank the Drunken Hero we all made it out alive. And thank you Jessi, for saving my butt too." She offers her flask of whiskey to anyone who wants a swig.

Once they are certain Nox is dead, Leora gathers all the loot into her haversack. "We have a lot of stuff to identify and sell once we get out of here. How about we check the other rooms out real quick, then leave?"

"I don't have any holy water, but how about this? I could try making your sword holy," Leora offers to T'chazzar, recalling her one remaining spell for the day. "Otherwise, we'll have to wait til tomorrow when I could make some holy water."

Unless T'chazzar protests, Leora will cast align weapon - good on one of his swords, it will last for 3 minutes.

Leora stands up shakily, now that Nox isn't a danger, at least for the moment. "I think Nox might be devil-bound, giving some of her soul for powers. Maybe this regenerative healing is one of them. What works best against devils? Silver weapons? Maybe cold, to fight the flames of Hell?" She looks to her friends, to see if they have any insight on Nox's abilities or how to stop them.

"Thanks," Leora says hoarsely as Jessi's magic revives her. She fumbles for the wand that Jessi suggested and uses on herself, then holds it out, still groggy from just waking up and not sure if Jessi wanted it to use on someone else, or was just suggesting Leora use it.

Although she's not sure how long she's been out, Leora is pleased to see Nox looks battered, but not so pleased to see that T'chazzar must've been gashed by her glaive too.

Hope I'm doing my math right, it's been a long day. Leora was at -2. Jessi healed her for 5, bringing her to 3, then cure serious for 17 brings her to 20 hp.

Leora is finally ready for some dodging and manages to jump out of the way of most of Mephiry's magma. Then she reaches into her bag of tricks to pull out, well, another trick. She reads the scroll, casting another conjuration on her comrade.

Finally, Leora steps closer to Nox, though she doesn't engage the woman. She glances back over her shoulder. If she stands here, then Nox can't flank T'chazzar with her doggie. "Run? We're not gonna run, we're here to clear the place out!"

"Oh $^@&" Leora mutters as she realizes what they're up against. She'd hoped that maybe the hellhound had been hanging out at Hocum's, and that Nox wasn't nearby. Of course, they weren't so lucky.

Welp, since this lady (and her minions) look awfully dangerous, Leora decides to give it everything she's got, to protect her friends. Pulling a scroll from her bag, she reads the last few lines as she puts her hand reassuringly on T'chazzar's back. "Protect Shadowblades from these evil creatures!"

Leora checks the corpses of the redactors, especially to see if they have keys or other information that might help the Ravens explore the rest of the building.

Noticing her friends' injuries, she makes sure they are all gathered close by so she can heal them.

Leora hurries to catch up with her friends. "We should try to find that hellhound too," she adds as Falina checks the last remaining door. She tries to copy Arani's graceful movements through the chains, but instead ends up stumbling over her own two feet, allowing chains to tug and drag at her ankles.

Sorry for the delay! GM, is the acrobatics DC for the chains 7, per this post, or 5, per this post? Leora has a pretty good chance of failing either way :D

Seeing that Davina and Jessi have run off the one way, and T'chazzar has finished off the Asmodean blocking the other end of the hallway, Leora decides to follow the drow.

Leora does her best to dodge the chains in the big room, but between her heavy armor and her natural clumsiness, manages to get tangled up. She notices the black gunk on the chains moving around, but is too distracted by the combat to think too hard about it.

As she makes it to the remaining redactors, she asks them, "What happened to your buddy back there, in the chains? Didn't burn enough books to make the cut?"

Leora is double moving both rounds. First round of movement puts her in the chain area, so:

@GM - Re: buffs on T'chazzar. Correct, Leora cast those back in the sewers, so they are probably worn off by now.

@GM and Arani - Re: moving through friendly squares. Correct, you can move freely through allies' squares without any checks.

Since Jessi stopped her inspirational singing, Leora boosts her allies's with a prayer disguised as mixing something alchemical up in her flask.

"Good idea," Leora nods to Jessi. "Let's take this guy down so we can go help the others." She turns around, drawing her rapier against the guy who snuck up behind them and slashing at him.

"The bottleneck might work in our favor," Leora murmurs to her friends. "If T'chazzar can hold them back, the rest of us can pick them off one by one. "

Since there isn't much she can do to help T'chazzar from the back of the secret tunnel, she thumps Arani on the back while casts another spell. "You've got this! I know you'll pull of some kind of crazy trick shot!"

Casting touch of good on Arani, +2 sacred bonus on attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws for one round.
