My understanding is that any power armor with hands can wield equipment / weapons however if its larger than medium then it would take size penalties unless the gear was sized for the armor.

Pg 168 of the core book states:

"Weapons are built to be easily held and used by both Small and Medium creatures. Weapons can be built for use by smaller creatures but generally cost twice as much (since they require special miniaturization technology). Weapons can also be built for use by larger creatures with no increase in price. A Small or Medium creature trying to use a weapon built for a creature that is Tiny or Large suffers a –4 penalty to attack rolls. Weapons designed for creatures Diminutive or smaller, or Huge or larger, generally cannot be effectively used by Small or Medium creatures."

Hope this helps

It does TY.

Any clarification about the spider harness? Like now the way Im conciliating the rules and the description is picturing a drider shaped mech.

Hi guys. I´m new to Starfinder (great game) and got some questions about powered armor and weapons:

If I remember correctly, every powered armor is described as humanoid in shape and all but the battle harness are bigger then medium. So, can I use my powered armor "hands" to wield standard weapons, or do I have to pay for larger versions? I´m inclined to go option 2, but I saw arguments for both sides, including people saying that you can use your arms normally while in powered armor (making it more like Edge of Tomorrow and less Iron Man/Mecha).

For me the main source of doubt is the spider harness. they mention the armor have actuator connected to your arms. If it means you can freely use your arms, then it answers the previous question but they should have made it explicit. If it just means that the armor have arms that you can control, then it´s just the same as the others and there was no need to make that distinction.

Thanks.
