However, I shall return... <crossing fingers>

Scarab Sages

I just checked my library and was surprised to find that I'm missing Pathfinder #10. I seem to recall that when I started my subscriptions earlier this summer, I was going to get Pathfinder 10 and 11 almost simultaneously.

Could someone please check on that?

Thanks a million!

Watching the Olympics, Everyone?

Lord, no. I dread this every four years...

The audacity of the media to assume that "we" care so much about the Olympics that they cover it non-stop for three weeks is mind-boggling.

I have no problem with 4e rules - I think they are great, and I would probably use them in a different sort of game (SciFi or Supers).

I just don't like them for fantasy, because all the flavor appears to be washed out.

Ditto, and I agree 4e would be good for a Supers game.

Just my 2 gp...

(2) Yep, interrupting a caster was easier in 2nd. You didn't even have to hit them while they were casting - just in the same round, before they went. I'd kind of like to go partway back to the old system - that taking any damage meant a chance of a fizzle, not just damage right at the casting time.

I liked the 2nd edition "method" above, too. However, I could never wrap my head around the fact that a combat round in 2e was a full minute! A caster should be able to "shake off" a hit in a full darn minute!

Now, this works well in 3e where a round is only 6 seconds.

I <heart> 6 second rounds... makes so much more sense for martial combat, too.

Just my 2 cp...

Thanks for the great info, guys! I'm pumped! Looks like I'll be scouring my house for Ebay items to sell... I've got a few <ahem> orders to make soon...!!

All the best,
