![]() Part 1;
Spoiler:
Lady Vorannia Krellin was once a powerful noble, however she had to hide the curse of her ancestry. Vampires in her family bloodline had tainted the line, with both aversion to sunlight (and all the drawbacks that come with that) and the lust for blood and power (and all the benefits associated with that). She is a dhampir Undead (sanguine) sorceress 1 / ranger 1. 2) What crime did you commit, and how did you get caught?: Spoiler:
Sedition. Vorannia used her noble contacts and occult followers (those addicted to the power of the vampires), to begin a general alteration of the government, by removing those from authority (usually by suspicious circumstances) and replacing them with her own allies. This might have allowed Lady Vorannia to completely take over a small town, had she been successful. She was caught by a witch-hunting inquisitor who sensed that the town was suffering too much from necromantic romantics. 3) What do you look like? Spoiler:
There's a description and image linked on Lady Vorannia's profile. 4) Why do you want revenge against Talingarde?: Spoiler:
Vorannia wants her political power back. Since it was taken from her (and her family) as part of her arrest, her family has known more strife and hardship then they previously experienced. Lady Vorannia wants revenge on her captors and those who damaged her family's honor and power. Part 2 1-ish - How do you intend to play your character? You can use a few words to describe him or her or give us a short paragraph.: Spoiler:
In one word, nobility. High Charisma (for spells primarily) and a haughty bloodline have made Vorannia a veritable princess (the other trait she's taking), making her ideal at both intimidation and diplomacy. 2-ish - Have you ever played in an Evil campaign before? If 'yes', how did it go?: Spoiler:
The campaign she was created for allowed lawful evil characters. We got along splendidly with the neutral characters, and it was just the few goodies that spoiled the fun. But other than that, I think it was enjoyable. 3-ish - Why are you interested in this game in particular?: Spoiler:
I'd like a place where Vorannia can shine in all her wicked beauty. I still need to modify Vorannia's stats to reflect 2nd level, instead of 3rd... but I will do that tomorrow. ![]()
![]() This was my original sanguine (undead) sorceress/human-hunting ranger idea. I need to look over the creation rules but I'd like to submit her here as well. As for healing, if you allow for some of the stranger necromancy spells from the Book of Ultimate Evil (or whatever it's called, from 3.5), that could be right up her alley. Race: Dhampir, if permitted. There is a campaign trait in her profile, that would likely be replaced by Sedition, and otherwise her history and background needs to be modified. If we are limited to 1st level, she'll go with sanguine sorceress. She is built with 25 points, so that should be okay. As for melee combat specialties, she intends to go the full feral claw attack route as a ranger, which could be absolutely delicious with touch attack spells. ![]()
Female Dhampir Undead (Sanguine) Sorceress 1 / Ranger (Shapeshifter) 1
![]() Not a problem with me. Vorannia steps away from the conversation and outside for a moment, to reassure those waiting to hear from them that a plan was under way. "We have a plan to determine the identity of the assassin's hirer. But we should be prepared to move again." ![]()
Female Dhampir Undead (Sanguine) Sorceress 1 / Ranger (Shapeshifter) 1
![]() I was actually enjoying the campaign, and waiting to see what else Baron would do as a result to current conversations. Baron seems to have spearheaded this conversation, and since I'm not sure where he's going with this, I was taking second fiddle and mainly playing a supporting role. ![]()
Female Dhampir Undead (Sanguine) Sorceress 1 / Ranger (Shapeshifter) 1
![]() Maybe the battle claw and greater battle claw from Arcana evolved would work, as far as statistics go. I can see the Krellin ladies having two versions, one for everyday use (the battle claw), iron-tipped nails like the the first picture above. And then the formal battle claw (the greater battle claws), with much longer nails/blades attached to the fingers, maybe like the last picture. The battle claw is a light weapon for Vorannia.
The greater battle claw is a one hand weapon for Vorannia.

![]() Vorannia nods her head at Gesha. "Wise woman. I would do the same in your boots. Perhaps I could instead speak to some of your previous employers. I would love to know the type of work you have been doing. I think you'll fit in well with the job I had in mind." She pauses, dramatically. "A little more research and I will know for certain." Diplomacy or Bluff, whichever one you feel is being used more here

![]() Lady Vorannia applauds delicately at the toss. "A bare miss. If it had been but a little higher, your throw would have been perfect." Perception
"Do you have a patron, Warrior Gesha? I think I should be interested in striking a deal." ![]()
Female Dhampir Undead (Sanguine) Sorceress 1 / Ranger (Shapeshifter) 1
![]() Oh, it was fun alright. I shall just have to cull you later. No noble speaks to others unless first officially introduced to them (or as is more often the case, when the others are introduced to the noble). That's pretty universal. That will likely be a weakness for my character, but fitting, I think. ![]()
Female Dhampir Undead (Sanguine) Sorceress 1 / Ranger (Shapeshifter) 1
![]() Lady Vorannia holds back, uncertain what exactly the Baron is implying or intending to communicate. She remains aloof, turning her body slightly away from the Baron as she raises her glass subtly, as though she knows she is being talked about but will not deign to give a response. She turns her head to survey the room after giving the Baron a bare instant of eye contact. She turns to Leon instead, handing him her mostly empty glass. "Have this refilled. I find my thirst was not quenched by this last battle; no blood was spilled." ![]()
Female Dhampir Undead (Sanguine) Sorceress 1 / Ranger (Shapeshifter) 1
![]() HERE is a picture of the "weapons" that I think the Krellin Ladies would be likely to use. Of course, some of us are more feral and develop claws on our own (see suggested Feat in my last discussion thread post), but its nice to have a little metal to back it up. (maybe grant something like +1 damage to natural claw attacks), or provide a claw attack that deals 1d3 damage. I will see if I can find more information about claw rings actually being used as weapons. (I think they might be called talons). Maybe something like THIS? But this is still just costume. No information yet on actual weapon use. EDIT:
ANOTHER EDIT:

Female Dhampir Undead (Sanguine) Sorceress 1 / Ranger (Shapeshifter) 1
![]() Lady Vorannia glides across the floor to the bar, the tatters of her black dress sailing behind her. DM: I had some questions about my character on the Discussion thread. I asked if a certain feat would be available. I am also wondering if you might allow a change in the weapons my family grew up with (as it would make no sense that the Krellin ladies would use thorn bracers). But I hesitate to introduce a new weapon, a claw ring, as there are no stats for it in Dungeons & Dragons or Pathfinder. But something to think about. ![]()

![]() Level to 3 Ranger
How do hero points work again? BAB +1
Favored enemy - humanoid (human).
Feat: I was originally going to take Aspect of the Beast as my 3rd level feat, as I will be going the natural weapon method of the Ranger, but I noticed that even though a ranger can take Aspect of the Beast as a feat if he select the natural weapon style, the ranger does not select a combat style until 2nd level, so maybe that does not apply here. Any rulings or special allowances? ![]()
Female Dhampir Undead (Sanguine) Sorceress 1 / Ranger (Shapeshifter) 1
![]() Vorannia searches through her belongings to find the silver goblet, and the last few cups of deep red wine. She raises it and proclaims in a loud voice (though not necessarily shouting): "Let the woman come forth! Demonstrate her prowess for all." Diplomacy

Female Dhampir Undead (Sanguine) Sorceress 1 / Ranger (Shapeshifter) 1
![]() Vorannia delights in the blood mist spattering from the cage, but even she arches her eyebrows at the orc's slaughter. "A bit unsportsmanlike, isn't it? I like bloodsport as much as the next person, but I would thing ingenuity would be rewarded rather than ubiquitously decimated." ![]()

![]() In the darkness, Vorannia's skin seems to glow again, and seems less parched than it had in the sunlight of only a few hours prior. Her eyes, also, seem more awake and alert to the action around them. "'Tis a lovely night, I hope someone dares to try and get in our way. I'm still a little hungry." The tatters of her gown drift elegantly around her in the night breeze.
