![]() Ah, sorry I forgot about that. Was getting myself mixed up with something else. With the adjustment to positions however, could I instead do as Rufus suggested, and cast Burning hands, targeted at Ledford, and catching the two ladies in the cone? I didn't want to hit Yugatta before, but now she's in a safer spot. If so: Burning Hands: 4d4 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 1) = 11 ![]()
![]() Posted about my absence in discussion, and just going to say sorry again here. Before combat goes much further however, just need to change that Burning Hands roll. Burning Hands (Evo) (Cast at +3 caster level, +1 to DC for saving throw, all from feats.) Reflex save for half damage. DC 16 Burning Hands: 4d4 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 2) = 10 ![]()
![]() Sorry for the delays, guys. I've been without internet for nearly a week. Trouble with my ISP, and I had to switch in the end. Had no way of letting you know. :( Back now though, and thanks to Krash for taking my turn. That's probably what I would have done! Again, sorry for the lateness, but we can see this through! ![]()
![]() Kyrani still looks very uncomfortable with the situation, but enters the room. Looking to Rufus and his attack for inspiration, Kyrani raises his hands and prepares to cast a spell. Seeing Yugatta and Rilo waiting, he hesitates, watching the others, and trying to gauge Zarta's expression, wondering if this is all some kind of twisted joke. ![]()
![]() Kyrani, a little disheartened at being unable to meet Salhar himself, smiles when he sees the note. A puzzle, hmm? he muses, as he looks at the objects. He casts Detect Magic, and then inspects the scene more closely. Perception (Chests): 1d20 ⇒ 16
If he determines everything to be non-magical, and non-threatening, then he will uncover the basket, unless stopped by someone who believes otherwise. ![]()
![]() Kyrani flicks through Physiology of Dragons: An Illustrated Reference on their way back to Guaril. After handing the items over, he flashes a smile, and nods to the man, before leaving the shop. Why don't we go to the Wise Quarter next? We only need to collect a charter and some maps. It will only take a moment. Kyranis says, pausing to chuckle, and continues Of course, if it's not quite as simple as that, my family name opens doors in Osirion, especially in Sothis. I'm sure getting Dremdhet Salhar to cooperate will be easy. ![]()
![]() Kryani winces as the rats attack his party, then grits his teeth, focuses his power and casts Burning Hands to try kill one of the rats. Aiming to hit the rat to the right of Vilheim on the map, so in a cone down and to the right, also hitting various crates. Burning Hands (Evo) (Cast at +3 caster level, +1 to DC for saving throw, all from feats.) Reflex save for half damage. DC 16 Burning Hands: 4d4 ⇒ (1, 4, 2, 3) = 10 He then steps to the side, calling out to make sure the others know of the attack. Moves one tile to the right. Expecting the crates to catch fire, so if they do, my next turn will be putting them out. Don't worry! "Flammable materials burn if the flames touch them. A character can extinguish burning items as a full-round action." ![]()
![]() Kyrani enters, listening to the conversation, and casts Dancing Lights, so he can see. He forms them into a pyramid formation, and puts them in the center of the room. I think Tortella is right. We should put the boat underneath, in case anyone or anything falls through. We might be able to drop the crate into it, too. Then we just take it back to shore. Does anyone know how to row? ![]()
![]() Kyrani bows, Thank you for this opportunity, Mr Karela, and your generosity is appreciated. he smiles, absent-mindedly playing with his rings, In addition to those details, may I ask, are you expecting any trouble? Would anyone else be after this shipment? And could you write the directions down for me? he asks, retrieving his journal and charcoal from his bag, and placing them in front of Guaril. I think I'll have to come back here once we've finished our jobs. he finishes, grinning. Then, a little quieter, he turns to Rufus. Rufus, my friend. If this makes you uncomfortable, then you could keep an eye out for any trouble, or just wait for us nearby. Have a drink on me, if you like. Kyrani sets his bag on the ground, and pretends to search through it as he whispers to Rufus, I'm not sure what to believe with this man, but the task must be done. I already know you're a good man, and I respect your choice here. If it comes to it, I'll swear that you were there with us. Straightening up, coin purse in hand, he offers a gold piece to Rufus. ![]()
![]() If we return to the temple, explain what happened, and say that Lady Baltwin can't be trusted and needs help etc, then shouldn't that accomplish the objective? We won't have delivered the medicine, but the Crusade will get it back, and we will have verified her character, albeit discovering she isn't suitable to receive the Crusade's charity. Is that right? Will delete this post once resolved. ![]()
![]() Sense Motive: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17 Kyrani chimes in, I'm sorry madam, but I don't believe you either. These are some very serious accusations, and we will have to take action on them, but as Vilheim said, if possible, it would be good for you to continue looking after the children once these issues have been addressed. It is in your best interest to comply with us and the Crusade, and in doing so, you stand a much better chance of continuing your work here. Do you agree? Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 ![]()
![]() Sense Motive: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5 We can certainly arrange that at the end of our visit, but we really must see to the sick children, and make sure they get the help they need. Kyrani pleads. Also, it would probably be for the best if I were to take the alcohol from you and your house, so that you can start your recovery straight away. It would greatly help your cause if we no longer had to worry about that. Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 ![]()
![]() Just going to assume you introduced yourself, Rilo. Also, I always have this tab open, but I keep pausing to give others a chance to take initiative. I don't want to charge into everything without giving everyone else time to take action or have their say. Kyrani nods at Yugatta as she leaves, and turns to Rilo. Thank you, Rilo. Learn as much as you can. Patting Tortella on the arm, Kyrani picks up a bundle of supplies, Let's go, Tortella. Everyone take as much as you can. he says as he heads for the orphanage entrance. Setting the supplies down, he knocks on the door, clasps his bejewelled hands, and smiles cheerfully, waiting for the lady to appear. ![]()
![]() Kyrani sighs. Vilheim may be right. I think we could have pulled it off, but we've wasted enough time, and we still have more to do after we've finished here. Let's deliver the medicine and have a little chat with the woman before we leave. I still think someone should try take a look around if possible, and we absolutely must talk to the children and find out what they do all day. I hope I can leave that to one of you. I'm not very good with children. He smiles sheepishly. Shall we get it over with then? he says, and turns to face the door. ![]()
![]() I was talking about the bits where you suggested Tortella and Kyrani to try buy things from her instead of you and Tortella, and where you said to split into two groups.

![]() Diplomacy(Gather information): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Kyrani turns to the newcomer, Welcome, friend. I am Kyrani Tahnkhet. These good people are Rufus, Vilheim, Yugatta, and Tortella. he says, pointing at each in turn. Turning to Rufus, he smiles, and adresses the group. Rufus, I think we should go with your plans. I will take Tortella and try talk to Miss Baltwin. I'll see what she'll tell us, and if she will sell anything. Tortella, if you act as my bodyguard, that may give you a chance to snoop around the room she meets us in. Looking away from Tortella, and towards the children, Kyrani continues, Rufus, if you and the rest of our team can talk to these boys here and convince them to tell us where they go and what they do in the day, that would be most helpful. It could be as innocent as them going off to play or run errands for the lady, but I can't be the only one with a bad feeling about this. Kyrani takes a step back and looks up at the building. What I think we really need though, is a good look around this house. If any of you feel particularly sneaky, then I would suggest waiting until Tortella and I have gone in, and then making your way inside. Search everywhere you can think of for anything suspicious. Kyrani points to a building a little further down the road. I suggest you all wait there until Tortella and I have gone inside, and then proceed as you think best. When you finish your task, wait back at that building, and we will regroup there before we take any further action. What do you think? ![]()
![]() Hello everyone. I posted about my absence in the recruitment thread, but you may not have seen it there. I've been ill the past 2 days, but am now ready to adventure with you all. Sorry for the delay! A young man skids to a halt in the doorway, doubled up and panting. He is short and weedy, with bronze skin, and is wearing a flowing robe of gold and cream, with a cream turban upon his head. His hands and neck sparkle with jewellery, and he flashes a sheepish smile as he catches his breath. Is... Is this... Are you the Pathfinders Ambrus sent? Kyrani straightens up, and smiles as he looks around the group. I'm afraid I missed you at the meeting, but Ambrus ordered me to go with you. I am Kyrani Tahnkhet, a sorcerer. May I ask what I have missed? May I assist you? |
