About Kunansi

Born and raised among the Zenj people of the Mwangi Expanse, Kunansi was from a small tribe and had a fairly traditional childhood. Twice a year, the tribe brought furs, rare herbs and precious darkwood to the great market city of Kibwe, and young Kunansi would marvel at the great variety of peoples and goods.

As he came of age, he rankled more and more at the slow and steady sameness of his people. After a great argument with his father - who disapproved of Kununsi's fascination with foreign ways - the young man kissed his mother and sisters, and he strode off into the jungle. He had some half-formed notion of going to Kibwe to seek adventure and glory, but he wasn't halfway there before he ran afoul of a Bekyar scouting party, looking for slaves.

Alone and inexperienced the foolhardy barbarian would probably have been lucky to die rather than be captured by the cruel slavers, but he was lucky. With a great roar, a rotund, colorfully garbed foreigner charged into the Bekyar warriors. Right behind him came three others - a party of adventurers, Pathfinders on an expedition into the Expanse. With their aid, Kunansi and the other captives were rescued and brought back to Kibwe.

Taken by the exotic, courageious adventurers, Kunansi insisted that they let him accompany them as guide to repay their aid. They took a bit of convincing, but largely due to their appreciation of Kunansi's great capacity for ale - of which much was consumed in the discussion, the adventurer's took the young man along.

The mission was more terrifying and difficult than Kunansi had though possible, but he got through it and pulled through his weight. He and the stout swashbuckler Kerth Stansworth became a strange but dangerous duo, and Kunansi accompanied back to Absalom. Kunansi had never had alcohol before leaving his tribe and became an enthusiastic convert to Cayden Cailiean under the fat swordsman's tutelage.

Now, newly arrived in "civilization" and inducted into the Pathfinder Society is out to make a name for himself. Kerth and his band are actually on the verge of retiring, or at least aren't interested on heading off on another adventure anytime soon, so Kunansi is looking forward finding a new band of stalwart souls with whom to seek glory and adventure.
