As the Master of Beasts touches his nose, Kugu feels a shiver, having nothing to do with the temperature, run down his spine.
"I do not want to know what secrets he keeps!" he whispers to Yumbulika.

Kugu gives his best 'froggie' smile but inside feels a growing tension. He grips his trident tightly as they continue walking through the circus.
Kugu looks over at his friend Yumbulika and whispers. "I don't like this Yumbi! Are you sure you know what you are getting into?" The little frogman unobtrusively loosens his weapons in their sheaths in the possible need of them.
"So the animals want to be here? I find that strange, but as long as they are not held against their will I suppose that is OK." The frogman continues to wander the stalls and booths of the circus with Yumbulika and the others.
Kugu walks among the various displays and shakes his head. "I do not understand the reason for this...this...place. These animals belong in their homes not here." He looks to his friends for perhaps an answer.
Kugu hops on into the circus and tries to examine everything all at once. "WOW...I did not realize slavery was legal in these civilized lands. We should be careful that we do not end up in one of these cages!"
"Sounds good to me...let's go!"
Hearing Yumi ask about Mongo, he turns to the two of them, a big froggy smile spreading across his face. "Well, he was not actually there, but he was someone who saved me once I stumbled my way into this place. I was set upon by thieves and Mongo decided to save me from them...along with Baz. Without the two of them, I would not be here today!"
Kugu overhears the strangers talking and looks over to the now red dragon and smiles. "Maybe we should be looking to leave the city sooner than later." he says softly while nodding towards the people looking for the 'white' dragon.
Kugu puffs up his throat sack as a show of his indignation. "Kugu is a warrior and hunter! Best trained of his tribe and he remembers his home before the apes came. I would not lead Yumi on a death quest! Maybe Mongo can come and help us as well...he too is a mighty warrior." The little frog-man settles down and looks a bit sheepish. "Sorry for that display...I know you only worry about Yumi's safety."
Kugu swings his attention from the strange little liza...err...dragon and smiles at Yumbulika. "Welcome Yumi! I am recovering at a modest rate, but feeling much better. Please sit and tell me how you have been!" Looking at his drink, he shrugs his shoulders. "No idea what this is...but it is tasty! Try one..." He waves the waitress over and asks for another drink and a fruit bowl. As he waits he sees Baz and waves. "Over here!"
Kugu looks over the strange lizard, and not having the best interpersonal skills, blurts out... "Aren't dragons bigger?!" Not realizing he might have offended Zinnath, he plows on.. "I am a grippli, or frog person, or froggie...or..well different people have different names for us. I am a scout and tracker. A hunter I suppose...but I am not sure what a 'minion' is but I might have to decline as I am trying to return to my home." He looks at all the people now sitting around them and gives a big froggie smile.
Kugu enjoys a sweet cider drink of an unknown fruit (to him) while relaxing with his friends.
" I agree...pretty human can speak for Kugu!"

OK, how does this sound... Returning to the city after his battle with the demon apes, Kugu is almost immediately set upon by thieves. Mongo just happened to be wandering by and saw this crime and saw how the little 'froggie' was hurt and being attacked by 3 thieves, decided to step in and even the score. While wiping up the street with the criminals, Nbazi wanders in and decides to help the wounded grippli, and Mongo follows along to make sure his new buddy is going to be OK.
Kugu could have ended up in Nantambu after his 'adventure' in the jungle and spent a few months getting better....and maybe he meet the rest of you at some time??
