Background Krachton Rocknoggin tends to be slow. This isn't just his short swarf legs. He's not stupid, but he tends to mix up his words if he doesn't take a moment before speaking. This has earned him more than his fair share of teasing over the years. Being sturdy and strong, the taunts probably would have tapered off, except that he's also very slow to take offense.
He spends a lot of his time diving for shellfish and lobster off the rocky coast. While dwarves tend to be dense, he's surprisingly good in the water. Still, he's always willing to help when somebody needs a strong back. He never had much interest in learning soldiering. This was a disappointment to his parents, who had spent a few years adventuring. His father had taken an arrow to the knee and they had earned enough to live comfortably in retirement.
But he wasn't the kind to stand back. While fishing he heard screams - the screams of kids. They seemed to come from a small cove nearby. The curious Saltanar kids had stumbled upon a smuggler ship and the criminals had weapons drawn. "LEAVE THEM ALONE!" he roared as be boarded their small vessel. The deck tilted as stone wrapped around him and a massive hammer formed from seawater. He soon dropped a couple and the others ran off.
Nobody believed the kids' story and Krachton didn't say much. "I brought them back. Anybody would have done that."
Description Krachton has a bit of a grey cast to his skin, but it's well known that his father is half-duergar. He wears tight-fitting sealskin leather with brass studs. This suit helps keep him warm underwater. He carries a brass clan dagger and an oilskin backpack. He's got a rusty crowbar for prying up rocks to find the delicacies hiding underneath.
