Serrin Surya wrote: Serrin, meanwhile, is too far away to notice what all is transpiring with the champions and their patrons, but she can tell they are still having 'couple time'. However, the lake is really calming, and so she sits under a tree and takes out one of her tomes on magickal theory. It was getting crowded by the lake; though he finds the water fascinating in much the same way that most people find brightly colored snakes fascinating, it was time to go. Korren rises to his full height and moves at a leisurely pace - for him - to the door back into the school.
Moving easily twice the speed of a normal human, Korren passes somewhat near to Serrin on his way back in. He quietly murmurs, "Good morning," before heading inside.

Nala Zamarosok wrote: Nala headed out onto the lawns surrounding the school, Vasya frolicking around her, stopping to sniff every plant along the way, and demanding ear scritchies from a group of passing students who were happy to admire the blue-eyed white fox in all her cuteness. Vasya knew she was adorable and wasn't afraid to use it as a weapon. Nala found a clear area in view of the lake and sat down. Some distance away around the edge of the lake, Korren crouches beneath a tree. He has obviously seen you, and just as obviously has made no move to intrude on your morning.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Having finished his meal with swift, almost mechanical motions, Korren returns his tray to the kitchen, and retreats from the dining hall. He follows the hallways to the door opening into the back lawns. He quickly finds a large oak tree, and crouches under it watching the lake.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren comes into the cafeteria, his face stony and his expression set. Mean-spirited laughter follows him in as he heads over to the serving lines, his eight legs clicking on the floor. He gets his food with as few words as possible, then retreats with it to a table with no one nearby.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren's stomach growls to remind him that he is hungry. He takes a deep breath, braces himself for the coming punishment, and steps away from the wall. Following the girl who had just stepped past him toward the line.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
As Al'rqyq enters the cafeteria, he passes an armored halfling with a spider where his legs should be. Lightning crackles over him unceasingly. He flinches as Al'rqyq passes by him.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren makes his way to the cafeteria flanked by the nurse. When he arrives he pauses at the door to look back at her, to find that she is not there!
Korren freezes and seems to shrink in on himself, all eight of his legs drawing in tightly around him. He looks for all the world like a frightened spider crouching by the door to the cafeteria.

I think a Psion(kineticist) would work well. Along with an adaptation of the pyro prestige class. I will look into it. :)
I vote for pain clouding the mind .. kinda like The Shadow.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
I haven't looked at them, but maybe...
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
What do you guys think of a element bender level of control over something like electricity rather than the customary elements?
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren walked quietly beside the 'nurse', his bladed legs digging gouges in the soft soil. The nurse, a person Korren was sure was actually nothing of the sort, was prattling on about virtually nothing of any importance. Korren simply reveled in the feeling of being outside.
Never before had they kept a pleasant facade going for so long, and though Korren expected the tortures to start up again at any moment, he was content to enjoy the present while it lasted.
His stomach growled audibly, and the 'nurse' turned to him with a small smile on her face, "Korren, would you like to try eating in the cafeteria?" Her voice was the same as one might use with a small child or an invalid. Why did they insist on using that voice?
The cafeteria. Perhaps. Yes, he would see if they would permit him to see the other subjects and allow him to eat along side them. "Yes," he said to the 'nurse', "Take me to the cafeteria."

Just gonna slip my time skip summaries in here.
Korren, having withdrawn nearly entirely, is brought into the infirmary and has remained there. He has made no attempt to use the open door in the ward. towards the end of the week, the infirmary staff has started to get some amount of responses from Korren, but they have learned that any reference to psychological techniques causes him extreme mental stress.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
When Ghalen speaks, Korren's eyes flick to him and his body shifts to face Ghalen. There is no more response than that, and Ghalen suspects that it is a mostly reflexive reaction to his voice.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Narrator! wrote: Is that what Ghalen would get from his sense motive? Sorry, either I missed that or forgot about it.
What Ghalen gathers from his sense motive is that Korren's psyche has for some reason retreated nearly into a catatonic state. He is still cognizant enough to follow simple instructions and answer simple questions, but not much more than than. There is also some kind of internal struggle, though what it is exactly remains unclear. Given that insane level of sense motive, Ghalen would likely recognize the tiniest flicker of hope, there and gone too fast for any but the most socially perceptive to register it.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren stands quietly, waiting to see what would become of him. A little voice inside his head, one that would not be still despite how he tried very hard to strangle it to death, whispered that maybe he was free this time. Maybe it is not a trick.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
So is the new group just on their own then?

Repp, the Bleached wrote: Repp makes no outwards sign that he is able to read Korren's thoughts while he carries on with the routine he's developing.
In addition, he also does not seem even mildly perturbed by the odd and grotesque body that Korren is sporting.
"Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mr. Blake. I've been assigned to help you get acquainted with Agartha. Once we're done with a psychological assessment we can begin to move you to a temporary living arrangement and then situate you more appropriately. I understand this is all sudden and confusing, but I'm here to answer any questions you may have." He's all business, upfront, forthcoming, and earnest in both body language, and in speech.
Korren's face shows none of the bitter internal dialogue he is experiencing. I just bet you are going to acquaint me with this agartha. Then his mind processes the psychological assessment part of the statement and it flees, screaming, into the dark recesses that Repp's spell cannot reach.
Korren makes no reply, but waits passively as what little life there was in his eyes fades.

Repp, the Bleached wrote: After having sorted through a few others (and action which involves a brief conversation, and to the perceptive, Repp's eyes glowing momentarily), giving them a brief set of instructions to help them get settled, he moves on to the strange half-spider creature.
The gnome's mannerisms are very calming. There are no sudden movements, and his voice flows with a gentle authority as he speaks. It is difficult to find fault in the way he conducts himself.(Nothing magical at work, just a very high Charisma/Diplomacy score)
"Greetings. My name is Repparyn. May I have your name?" Korren will note that again, Repp's eyes glow very briefly.
Korren is now being subjected to a Detect Thoughts power. DC to resist is 34.
Will save DC 34: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27.
So, I put thoughts into italics.
Korren looks blankly at Repp for a few instants. When he speaks his voice is flat and without inflection, but there are faint sounds of electrical discharge crackling through it, "My name is Korren Blake." As you very well know. This ruse has gotten old.

Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Repp, the Bleached wrote: Repp watches Ghalen move about his work, not interfering and assisting in helping to sort the refugees and is needed, allowing the other to take the lead. Once Ghalen seems satisfied with the sorting and given Repp a take, the gnome takes to it with gusto.
Are we assuming Korren Blake is among the 'lucid' group? He doesn't seem very lucid. ;P
Korren is most certainly among the lucid group. He is just extremely withdrawn. He is alert and responds to others. He will follow instructions and answer questions. But he has no observable personality, and displays no initiative or emotion.
Following the directions of these new, very unusual individuals, Korren darts down the cargo ramp. It does not seem that he is hurrying, but his motions are almost too fast to register. He comes to a stop in front of the small pale man.
This pale person is the same size I would have been. Is this the new torment, to taunt me with what could have been? It will not work, evil ones.
A flicker of something crosses his face, gone too quickly to be identified, and he glances at the sky for a moment before bringing his attention back to Repp.

Imperial Chronicler wrote: A few moments after Ghalen and Repp arrive at the Kuros port, the sky echoes with the sound of the newly-arrived vessel descending to the landing pad.
A few minutes later the craft is safely down, and the landing crew has given the all-clear for the welcome team to approach. The rear cargo bay yawns open, and a large, diverse group of beings start to file out...
If the 'alien group' thing is still happening, this should finally get the ball rolling for it.
I have heard nothing about it being scrapped.
Perhaps this will be the location for the new tortures. It is strange to see sunlight, but it has happened before. The dragon was most thorough in his 'experiments'.
After most of the passengers in the cargo hold have filed out, there is a flicker of movement accompanied by the blue arcing of electricity as a many-limbed figure moves rapidly in short darting motions to the top of the ramp.
From the waist down, it appears to be some kind of spider clad in plates of gleaming mithril, the tips of its legs sharp enough to leave small gouges in the deck plating. From the waist up it has the form of a halfling wearing mithril breastplate armor. Small arcs of electricity flicker over its body and from its legs to the deck of the ship. Its face is completely blank, and its eyes show only the faintest flicker of interest in its surroundings.

Korren is now riding a much larger horse, and holds an arm down to Annik. "That will happen when a joke is taken the wrong way. You can ride with me if you care to."
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren turns to look back at Annik, "We will find him, Annik."
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Explorationing! My downtime activity is just crafting for which I have not done the crunch, so I am free to explorate. Let's get the hex with Oleg's place at least.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Upon checking my monies, I do not really have enough gold to buy Capital, so I will instead spend the time making ammunition for my gun. There is no skill check involved.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Black Fang wrote: Sorry, I forgot to include an IF in there. If you decide to wait for Annik and company to return, you have two days of downtime. Otherwise, you can ride off to the unknown, at less than full strength, seeking at least a dozen bandits in what sounds like a fortified location. It's up to the party what y'all do. ;) When you put it like that, perhaps we should wait. ;)
Korren spends the two days doing what he can to help around Oleg's place, trying to build influence; most likely putting his alchemy knowledge or his wilderness skills to use.
Would craft(alchemy) or survival be most useful here to generate influence? and what rolls do you need from me?
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Downtime rules are posted on D20PFSRD.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren shifts slightly, "One who has fallen into evil may yet be redeemed. I believe that we should offer the chance at redemption and an honest, productive life. Any that spurn such, or accept with the intent to do damage from within should be put to death."
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
"Matilda's voice will strike fear into the hearts of these vermin as it did with their fellows here. I would be more comfortable, however, with an early morning attack; say at just about dawn. Perhaps we should ride most of the way there and then press the attack just before dawn. The main question is, should we wait for Annik?"
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
@ Annik: that all sounds pretty good and if BF is okay with it I have no complaints.
@ everyone: DIBS on the heavy horses :D lol. unless, of course, someone else wants em. then we can figure it out another way.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren comes down from the wall, keeping Matilda trained on the captives until they are well tied, than he stands easy watching them closely.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
I am still here and looking forward to it!
:)
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Just popping in to say "Hey, I am still here." Hope you are doing well, Black Fang.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
No worries, feel better soon. :)
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren fires at the fleeing rider, aiming carefully while braced against the top of the wall.
Move action to activate Steady Aim.
If the rider is more than 50 feet away, Korren will use the Deadeye deed. Just let me know the range and I will deduct the correct amount of grit.
Attack vs. touch AC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 (minus two per 50 feet beyond the first).
Damage: 3d6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 5, 4) + 1 = 14.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren swings the stock of his weapon at the fleeing bandit, "No you don't!"
Attack: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 3 - 2 = 5.
Damage: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 5) + 3 = 14.
When Korren's swing gets hung up on the door, he again snarls in frustration and brings the weapon to bear on the, newly, fleeing bandit.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
How far to the fleeing bandit?
Korren swiftly thumbs a paper cartridge into his musket, ramming it home. He then moves to the parapet of the wall and takes a very stable firing position, with Matilda's muzzle tracking the man's flight.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren turns as the two bandits flee, his musket tracking the fleeing men as he carefully aims. Matilda speaks again, and the musket ball strikes the furthest bandit squarely in the base of his neck.
I am not sure how far the fleeing bandits have gotten from Korren by the time he fires.
Using Steady Aim as a Move-Equivalent Action; musket range = 50 ft.
Korren will also use the Deadeye deed if necessary to ensure that the attack resolves as a touch attack. Just let me know if I need to spend grit.
Activating Perfect Blow.
Confirm Critical vs. touch AC.: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20.
Damage(assuming a 21 confirms): 3d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 3, 6) + 1 = 12 x 4 = 48.
As the man screams and pitches off his horse, Korren shouts back over his shoulder, "Mount and get after him!"
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
I would like to edit last round's actions, and add a reload action. I just forgot to type it out. If not, he will simply reload before firing. If that is okay he will reload after his shot this round also.
Seeing Helgash fall, Korren roars in anger, "I call the destruction of Torag the Mighty upon you, reaver scum!" Korren fires again, attempting to strike the same target.
Swift action to pronounce Destruction judgement. +1 to all damage until combat is over.
Attack vs. Touch AC: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21.
Damage: 3d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 1, 3) + 1 = 8.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren rises to one knee, taking advantage of the little cover of the wall's inner platform and its elevated position. As soon as the doors shut behind the bandits, Korren will fire at the rearmost bandit with a deafening thunder.
Attack vs. touch AC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11.
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3) = 12.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Are they close enough to hear me if I yell softly down to the courtyard?
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren will be on the wall to the left of the gate but prone so he cannot be seen from the outside.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
I will station myself atop the wall to the left of the gate, but I will crouch down so they do not see me as they approach. Moreover, I would not want them to see Matilda.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
These men are ones who have chosen to kill, rob, and prey on their fellow man. If they surrender, then they can be tried for their crimes at that time. If they do not they have earned the death that will come for them. Mercy is all well and good, but it has no place in mortal combat until one side has surrendered.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
I will post myself on the walls, I am most effective if people cannot get to me.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren sits quietly, having nothing to add that had not already been said.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren looks at Svetlana with a considering look, Judging by the response we got as we approached and the caution you showed in allowing us inside, I would guess that you were robbed. Perhaps by someone you know.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
I will, of course, lend what aid I can. Your hospitality has been much appreciated.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Korren seems unfazed by the storm and during the aftermath. When the ladder breaks, he picks up the broken piece and holds it in place for a moment and when he takes his hand from the broken rung, it is again whole.
Korren is quiet after the storm, and unless spoken to directly does not offer any conversation.
Male Tauric Halfling/Sword Spider
Meridian nods with approval, If I can help, let me know. Without waiting for his agreement, Meridian begins helping him get the animals prepared for the coming storm.
Once the animals are prepared and it seems like they will likely come through the storm okay, Korren heads back to the house to help them finish getting ready.
How big is the ground floor of the house? And is it all just one big room?
