So next game I have a party of level 19s going to go up against a Great Wyrm Red Dragon and I'm preparing some tactics ahead of the game for the big beasty so it actually makes an impact and doesn't die in an undramatic fashion.

my question is: If the dragon were to Breath Weapon and roll an unfavorable amount on the d4 to recharge the weapon, would those round continue to tick down if it used Time Stop on it's following turn?

So the plays of my campaign are on horseback travelling through open planes.

A couple of Smilodon (Sabertooths) sneak along the side of them no one rolls perception high enough to see them in tall grass.

Tigers Jump out. I say to roll initiative. Then both Tigers get to pounce as the surprise round and then into the normal initiative.

To me, that sounds right by in a similar situation I played in where this happened. The attacker jumped out and got off a first attack, then initiative rolled, then surprise round, then normal initiative.

Can I confirm at what point most people do this. to me, option 1 sounds fairest but want to see how others do it.

I found this as I found a cool D&D homebrew Herbalism book which I modded for a homebrew campaign I'm running and I'm looking for feedback on it.

Looked through yours and there's a lot gone into it and well thought out ( and possibly some ideas i will be stealing too)

So I'm running my first campaign and one of my players is playing a cavalier. As a reward for a side mission focusing on his character storyline, I want to give him a dancing lance so when he charges he could have the floating AND held lance to wreck some poor soul.

I just want some thoughts from more experienced players to see whether they think this is a good idea.

Hi all I have a cavalier who wants to take the leadership feat but argues that he should not take a minus 2 on hos leadership score because his mount is just a regular mount (IE not a T Rex or something).

To me the fact the cavaliers mount levels up along side him just like an animal companion would make it come under an animal companion and thus make him recieve the -2.

Would really appriciate some other feedback on this or other experieces to see how this is usually handled.

First post here and new to the community :)

So I'm in the process of making a homebrewed campaign have a plan which I'm torn about regardless a 3rd act reveal.

Basically, the main antagonist the players will be facing off against will be a high-level Lich in a campaign loosely based around the mysterious disappearance of the old God Aroden.

The hook being that the Lich's Phalactory is going to be a key artefact needed in a ritual to bring back the estranged God. meaning the players will have to make the ultimate decision of destroying the artefact thus ending the rampage of this powerful Lich but in the process potentially destroying the only means of reviving this ancient being.

However, I'm torn because as cool as I think this will be I feel like a divine artefact like this would just be resistant to dark magic like this due to its divine properties.

Any thoughts?
