1 person marked this as a favorite.

Grazzle will choose Ally, in the hopes that Lem can make a new friend.

For his upgrade, he'd like the blessing 5 to take another Nethys (since he can recharge it to examine & explore). But he could be convinced to take the blessing 4 instead. He will also be taking a blessing feat to hold whichever one he gets.

Grazzle did some bone divining & foresaw that Lem will be of great use to the party with either of those powers :)

It's the hour of elements, and Grazzle heads to meet Radovan at the Scorched Ruins.

Grazzle finds a Quickdraw Shield. Unfortunately, he's not particularly skilled at picking that up...
Constitution 10: 1d8 ⇒ 4

He asks his Cleric of Nethys to help him see what else is here...Kalnaka & Sekrephere...he opts to go after the Sekrephere.
5 Sekrepheres displayed, random blessing: Blessing of Horus (Divine 6), and I'll use my blessing just in case.

Divine 11: 1d8 + 7 + 1d8 ⇒ (5) + 7 + (1) = 13

Defeated & displayed, so all open locations have a Sekrephere, which means they all close. We win!

With the hour of Wadjet at hand, Grazzle decides to send a healing wave towards his friends before he heads to the Thornscrub.
I'll discard 3 cards to do a wave of 6 healing. All 3 of those have the Divine trait, so I also get to recharge 3 random cards from my discard.

Upon arriving at the Thornscrub, Grazzle is greeted by a Bonecrusher Hunter. He fires a Divine Blaze.
Combat 14: 1d8 + 7 + 3d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 7 + (3, 7, 1) + 4 = 26
The hunter is defeated, but Grazzle cannot explore again. He does however have a Restorative Touch to help rid someone of a curse once they come to the Thornscrub to meet him.

Hour is Dark Archive's Favor, so drawing 6 items:
Lottery Urn, Bottled Lightning (item 5), Healer's Kit, Spellbottle, Feather of Maat, Embalming Fluid (last of the previous post's items)
I don't think we care about any of these except the item 5, so I'll shuffle that into this location (since it's already in need of a shuffle) & banish the rest of the cards. Radovan cleared cards 1, 6, & 2; since we have cards 3-5 + 7, the Bottled Lightning will be card 6.

Grazzle heads to the Towering Obelisk to meet up with Lem & Radovan. He explores & finds
1d5 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 a Sekrephere!
random blessing: Blessing of the Ancients, so Divine 3 (+ 2 for others displayed)
...Grazzle blinks & defeats the Sekrephere
Divine 5: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

so much for the Bottled Lightning, I guess. Grazzle asks Nethys to help him keep the Sekrephere displayed.

With Horus blessing the hour, Grazzle hands the Galvanic Kopis +2 to Lem before joining Radovan at the Scorched Obelisk.

Grazzle finds a Blessing of Bastet, which he cannot fail to acquire, and will subsequently use to examine his location. He finds a Desert Trapper, which he must encounter.

Grazzle casts Volcanic Storm & braces for electricity damage.
Combat 12: 1d8 + 7 + 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 7 + (2, 2, 5) + 4 = 21
overkill damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1 -> blocked by Reed Snake Armor

Grazzle has no blessings or allies to recharge.

What did Radovan recharge at the end of his turn?
Grazzle is not very dexterous, so he will just fail the check.
Acid damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
ouch. I'll recharge my blessing of Maat to reduce it by 2 & reveal my armor to reduce it by 1, then discard the armor for the last 1. I also used my Find Traps for Seltyiel on his turn.[ooc]

Grazzle explores into some Reed Snake Armor. Sheesh, that would have been super useful a few minutes ago...Since the hour is of Nethys, Grazzle decides to call on a blessing of Nethys to try to pick this up.
Constitution 10: 2d8 ⇒ (7, 8) = 15
Looks like Grazzle has some new armor!
He asks his druid friend to help him explore again, and they find a Galvanic Kopis +2. Grazzle weighs his options & reluctantly asks Lem for help.
[ooc]Can I get your Milani & a recharge? I know that doesn't leave much for your turn, but I figure people probably want a weapon 5...
Dexterity 10: 3d6 + 1d4 ⇒ (6, 5, 5) + (1) = 17
Grazzle picks up the sparky knife & decides to let Seltyiel take charge of exploring for now.

Grazzle would definitely like that silken armor, and he'll also take his usual Sun Falcon Pectoral, Blessing of Maat, & spear.

Grazzle will see what the armor trader has to offer & join his fellow adventurers at the garden party.

Hour: Dark Archive's Favor
Draw 3 items: Potion of Energy Resistance, Deliquescent Gloves, & Canteen
Those are all pretty terrible, and since I don't want to shuffle the Geniekin back into the Glass Pavillion, I definitely won't add any items to that location. If anyone wants the other items, they're welcome to say so, but I think we should just pass.

Grazzle sends a small wave of healing to his friends.
I notice Lem & Seltyiel have several cards in their discards, & I have a potion of healing, so I'll discard 3 cards to do 6 healing.
Grazzle knows his friends have the remaining locations covered, so he heads to the Glass Pavillion to deal with the Geniekin that Radovan spotted. He readies a Volcanic Swarm.
Combat 18: 1d8 + 7 + 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 7 + (2, 1, 6) + 4 = 21
Defeated.

Grazzle asks his Apprentice friend to help him explore again. They find a Blessing of Abadar.
Divine 5: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Grazzle calls on Abadar to help him continue his exploration, and finds a Blessing of Nethys.
Divine 5: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Grazzle decides to ask Nethys to help him find this elusive Canopic Soul. Nethys tempts him with a Mistform spell or the Canopic Soul, but Grazzle holds fast & moves towards the soul.
Temp closes required!!
Radovan has 5 types of boons in hand, so I assume he can get his location, and if Lem uses a blessing on his Charisma check & the Old Salt on his Int/Wis check, he should auto those too, but I'll spoiler the fight just in case my math is off

Villain fight/end of turn stuff:

Grazzle drops his potion of healing while rushing to cast Divine Blaze! Hopefully, Lem will shoot an arrow this direction & someone will offer a blessing? Not that Grazzle thinks he needs them, but big booms are fun :)
Combat 24: 1d8 + 7 + 4d8 + 4 + 1d8 + 1d8 ⇒ (8) + 7 + (5, 6, 8, 1) + 4 + (4) + (8) = 51

We win (assuming I'm right about the close checks, and if not I'll reset my hand & whatnot)

With the Elements blessing the hour, Grazzle continues exploring at the Canny Jackal, finding a Tarworks Master.
Charisma 10: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Alas, he's not interested in helping out. Grazzle uses his Sun Falcon Pectoral to continue, finding a Potion of Healing.
Craft 5: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
He picks that up & asks his friendly Cleric of Nethys to scout ahead. The cleric reports a Coin Swarm and some Parade Armor ahead. Grazzle decides to head for the Coin Swarm. Grazzle uses Pyrotechnic Blast!
Combat 16/20/26: 1d8 + 7 + 4 + 2d4 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 4 + (2, 2) = 18
...Seltyiel, I'm going to use that Blessing of Maat to bump this up by 3 which puts it in the display range (& still under the scourge mark), so I close the location & summon & encounter an ally: Apprentice
Charisma 8: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Acquired!
Per scenario text, I searched the location to choose a card to move, and there's the armor 5, a weapon 4, and a spell 4. My vote would be to move the armor, but I'm flexible if people want something else.

Grazzle examines the top of the Glass Pavilion & finds an Inevitable Trap. Conveniently, he has a Find Traps in hand.
Survival 10: 1d10 + 3 + 2d10 ⇒ (5) + 3 + (5, 10) = 23
...oops, I forgot overkilling barriers is a bad thing here...
scourge: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 -> Vulnerability

With that out of the way, Grazzle heads to the Canny Jackal, where he finds a Jet of Anubis.
This time I actually want to overshoot it to get rid of Radovan's withering, so I'll use Fire Snake.
Charisma 11: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
*sigh* I don't want it enough to bury a card for it.
Grazzle asks his Druid of the Flame to help him explore again. Sweet, a Staff of Minor Healing! Perhaps he can use this to rid Radovan of that nasty withering curse.
Divine 7: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Or not, but it was a bit of a longshot anyway. Since he picked up the staff, he might as well use it on himself though.

It is the hour of the Lady of Graves, and after helping Seltyiel find some traps, Grazzle peers around the Glass Pavilion. He spots a Wyvern Poison nearby and decides to attempt to pick it up, calling on Milani for aid.
Craft 11: 1d10 + 2 + 2d10 ⇒ (7) + 2 + (1, 1) = 11
...so much for going for the +6 to clear a curse...but at least I picked it up...

Grazzle asks his friendly Cleric of Nethys to look into the future...he says the path diverges: to one side is a Burning Child, to the other is Aluum. Grazzle decides he doesn't really want to fight a construct at the moment, so he heads towards the Burning Child.
I'm going to take Seltyiel's BotG & go for the charisma option, so we hopefully don't have to deal with it again later. Plus it can copy the hour & give me 2 dice, since the child is undead :)
Charisma 10: 1d8 + 4 + 2d8 ⇒ (3) + 4 + (4, 5) = 16
damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Dance of the Dead adds an item to...: 1d6 ⇒ 3 -> Precinct of Left Eyes
I'll use the Maat to block my damage, but since Aluum is immune to Attack, I'll skip the free explore. Radovan should probably come take it out, so we can get the villain shuffled in.

Grazzle would like the Silken Ceremonial Armor (trading Lifecollar Coat). Normally I also trade at the Sunburst Market for Elemental Treaty or Remove Curse, but I think I'll skip that this time & actually use my Crystal Ball instead of trading it away...we'll see if I regret that decision :P

Loot swaps:
Sun Falcon Pectoral -> Amulet of Life
Spear of the Watchful Guardian -> Heavy Pick
Blessing of Maat -> Blessing of the Gods

Grazzle will start at the Glass Pavillion & visit the armor trader.

I'm taking a blessing feat & one of the spell 5s as my upgrade.

The hour is Osiris, which feels appropriate for Grazzle's turn of healing...he sends a healing wave of 12 to his party members, then uses his potion & a spell to heal himself.
I'm discarding 6 cards, then using the Potion of Healing & my Restorative Touch on myself. If we make it back to my turn, I can do more healing.
potion: 1d4 ⇒ 4
spell: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Grazzle moves to the Sculptor's Lair and explores. He finds a Kalnaka, but he's got an electricity-charged Cloudburst ready.
Combat 22: 1d8 + 7 + 3d6 + 4 + 1d8 ⇒ (7) + 7 + (2, 6, 3) + 4 + (2) = 31
With the monster defeated, Grazzle pauses to catch his breath.

Grazzle starts to trek through the stonework passages again, when he realizes the Dark Archive is offering him 3 items...Brilliance of Ra, Chest of Keeping, and Sandstorm Dust.
The chest is an item 5, so I'm inclined to shuffle it in somewhere...actually, given the scenario, I'll shuffle them all into places. Let's put the Brilliance of Ra in the Stonework Passages, the Chest of Keeping into the Sculptor's Lair, and the Sandstorm Dust into the Alchemical Laboratory.[/occ]

Now Grazzle sets forth to explore.
1d8 ⇒ 1 He finds a Blessing of Thoth.
Divine 10: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Huh, I guess Thoth is giving me the cold shoulder...let's see what Nethys can spy in my future...
1d7 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 -> Wand of Scorching Ray
7 is the Brilliance of Ra: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 -> Brilliance of Ra
[ooc]I don't have a Blessing of Ra for the trigger, but the Brilliance of Ra is going on top, with the wand underneath it.
Grazzle prefers the Brilliance of Ra.
Divine 5: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Darn, I didn't even need the d12 from the Dark Archive. But I display the Brilliance of Ra, draw a Potion of Healing, and remove Radovan's curse.

Grazzle continues his trek through the stonework passages, with the elements blessing the hour.

He finds a Khamsin Coat.
Constitution 8: 1d8 ⇒ 7
Unfortunately, it's a little too small, but now he can't seem to get it to come off, so he's going to take a bit to get untangled. It also seems to have gotten caught on his spear, so he'll put that down for a bit...
I'm discarding the spear because I would like to find an ally or two...

While still untangling himself, Grazzle somehow manages to cast Elemental Treaty.

Grazzle feels Isis's blessing upon him this hour as he explores the Guardian Vault. He encounters a Bonestorm, which he will engulf in a Divine Blaze.
Combat 17: 1d8 + 7 + 4d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 7 + (3, 8, 6, 3) + 4 = 35

Grazzle calls on Pharasma's blessing to explore again. He finds a Named Bullet spell.
Divine 12: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Grazzle isn't quite sure how useful this spell will be, but perhaps he can turn it into something else later. He casts the spell to get it out of the way, then decides to stop exploring for a bit while he contemplates it.

location: 1d7 ⇒ 5
Grazzle is whisked away to the Stonework Passages.

I'll take the Skyplate Armor, and do my usual swaps for the spear, Maat, Elemental Treaty, and Sun Falcon Pectoral.

Grazzle will also start at the Guardian Vaults and go to the armor trader.

I'll take an Item 3, and replace my Wand of Detect Magic with a Crystal Ball. I'll probably still end up swapping it out for loot, but since no one else wants the Item 3, I might as well upgrade my swap in case we ever want to examine more things :)

It's the hour of the elements, and after asking Nethys to help Seltyiel, Grazzle spots some Crawling Hands coming out from around a corner of the Crypt. He sends a Divine Blaze at them & asks the gods for a bit of extra help, just in case.
Combat 13/20/24: 1d8 + 7 + 4d8 + 4 + 1d8 ⇒ (6) + 7 + (1, 4, 5, 8) + 4 + (6) = 41
...maybe Grazzle should have kept his blessing for later...but what's done is done, and he's certainly attracted the attention of Koth’Vaul and Heqet…
Grazzle really wants to take Lem up on that offer of concert tickets, so he uses his Sun Falcon Pectoral to get up close & personal with one of them...
Koth’Vaul/1 and Heqet/2: 1d2 ⇒ 2

Heqet:

MM Henchman 4
Type: Monster
Traits: Trigger Undead Cultist Cleric
To Defeat: Combat 18 OR Divine 13
When you examine this card, encounter Heqet and add 5 to the difficulty to defeat. Heqet is immune to the Mental and Poison traits. If defeated, if your check to defeat exceeded 24, summon and encounter the henchman Natron Zombie. If defeated, you may attempt to close the location this henchman came from.

Grazzle hurls a Holy Javelin at Heqet.
Combat 18/25: 1d8 + 7 + 2d12 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 7 + (1, 10) + 4 = 24
Hmm...Radovan, do you mind asking Maat to help me out here?
As Heqet explodes with the power of the javelin, a Natron Zombie comes out of nowhere & attacks! Grazzle has nothing left to attack with, so the zombie easily deflects a weak punch and tries to bite Grazzle before running away. Luckily, Grazzle picked up that Reed Snake Armor from the traders before going on this mission, so he takes 0 damage.
Combat 12+4+7: 1d6 ⇒ 3
I'm punching the zombie & burying my armor, so Seltyiel just has the last henchman to deal with. Since I don't have electric punches, I'm also burying something from my discard pile, but at this point in the game, I'm not too concerned :)

Oh look, I found that Elemental Treaty! It's been ever so useful -_-

As Maat blesses the hour, Grazzle attempts to disperse the Insanity Mist permeating the Crypt.
Wisdom 10: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
The mist clears, and Grazzle sends a wave of 12 healing out to his allies.
I'm discarding 6 cards to heal the group. That leaves me with 5 cards in my deck, so I'm going to cast Restorative Touch on me before the end of my turn, but I've got an armor, so I'll wait until I've explored in case I pick up a curse.

Satisfied that his friends are no longer in danger of immanent death, Grazzle presses onward. He finds himself face to face with an Ulkreth, so he tosses out a ball of fire with Pyrotechnic Blast.
Combat 16: 1d8 + 7 + 2d4 + 4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 7 + (2, 4) + 4 + 5 = 25
The Ulkreth is defeated, and Grazzle sends his Cleric of Nethys to peek ahead. He returns with news of a Quicksand Bunyip and an Enchanter. Unfortunately, the bunyip sends a blast of electricity towards them & hides somewhere in the Crypt, leaving Grazzle to deal with the Enchanter.
Electricity from bunyip trigger: 1d4 ⇒ 3 (recharge Shield Cloak to reduce to 0)
Grazzle has a Cloudburst ready to go for the Enchanter, blocking the BYA force damage.
Combat 12: 1d8 + 7 + 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 7 + (2, 6, 2) + 4 = 29
The Enchanter is obliterated, but manages to hit Grazzle with 1 Fire damage as he explodes.
I'm out of things to block damage, so I'm going to have to discard my spear, which also causes us to lose a card from the Scorched Obelisk and the Crypt, but hopefully that one's the bunyip :)

Out of breath, Grazzle casts Restorative Touch on himself, then stops to rest.
heal: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Grazzle casts Find Traps for Seltyiel & shuffles it into his deck when he recovers it. He also recharges BoNethys for Lem.

With the Ancients gazing on him from beyond, Grazzle explores straight into some Insanity Mist, which seems to permeate the Crypt.

He asks his Druid of the Flame to see what's around a corner...It's an Ulkreth. Grazzle uses Pyrotechnic Blast, which is extra effective because it's fire!
Combat 16: 1d8 + 7 + 2d4 + 4 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 7 + (4, 3) + 4 + 5 = 30

With the Ulkreth defeated, Grazzle stops there to catch his breath.

[ooc]yay! I made it through a turn without being cursed! I'm looking at 1d10+3 if I use my Cleric of Nethys on the Insanity Mist next turn, but I do have armor, so if I take the poison damage, it's not the end of the world. And I'm partly adding this comment so I will hopefully remember to deal with the Insanity Mist next turn :P [/dice]

It is the hour of the Ancients, and Grazzle thanks Seltyiel once more for healing him of curses.

Staying at the Crypt, Grazzle runs into a Beheaded.
BYA damage type: 1d4 ⇒ 1
He calls on a blessing from Maat to prevent the Fire damage, then casts Volcanic Storm at the monster.
Combat 12+7 (19): 1d8 + 7 + 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 7 + (2, 5, 1) + 4 = 21

I will stop here, and choose to recharge, not shuffle, my spell, since that means I should be guaranteed to draw my heal & an armor for next turn.

I did draw my heal, which removes 2 curses, so I can either move to heal someone on my turn or they can move to me, depending on what state things are in by then.

Grazzle is feeling much better after Seltyiel's help, so he presses onward with the guidance of the Elements.

He runs into a Stabbing Spear Staircase, which is not something he's super great at dealing with. He asks Lem for some help disabling the mechanism on the stairs.
Disable 6: 1d4 + 2d8 ⇒ (3) + (5, 3) = 11

At the top of the stairs, Grazzle finds a Rukh waiting for him. Luckily, he has 3 attack spells prepared to choose from.
My 2 weakest attacks in this instance are Holy Javelin (+2d8) and Cloudburst (+3d6), but I'm +11 because they're Divine Attack spells...so I'm guaranteed to trigger the scenario power... *sigh*
Combat 13: 1d8 + 7 + 4 + 2d8 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 4 + (6, 3) = 23
Scourge: 1d8 ⇒ 2 -> Poisoning
Combat 13: 1d8 + 7 + 4 + 3d6 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 4 + (3, 4, 6) = 27
Scourge: 1d8 ⇒ 5 -> Ravenous

Well, that could have been worse. I'm stopping here & hope I'll draw my heal, but at least I don't have anything in my discard pile! I'm choosing not to shuffle my recharged spells in, so I increase my odds of finding my curse removal.

Poisoning: 1d7 ⇒ 2 recharging Divine Blaze

It's the hour of the Elements, and Grazzle heads to the Scorched Ruins to provide some healing to Radovan.
Restorative Touch: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

With Radovan fully healed & no longer vulnerable to damage, Grazzle charges towards the siege, naturally finding a Vanth.
BYA Scourge: 1d8 ⇒ 7
Of course it would be Fevered Dreams. Grazzle uses Divine Blaze on the Vanth.
Combat 13: 1d8 + 7 + 3d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 7 + (6, 4, 6) + 4 = 32

Without another attack spell in hand, Grazzle decides to pause & hope he finds something that will get rid of his fever.

I'll take the Reed Snake Armor, because it is easier to spell :P

And my usual swaps: Sun Falcon Pectoral, Spear of the Watchful Guardian, Blessing of Maat, & Elemental Treaty (instead of Remove Curse)

Grazzle would like the armor 4, and won't object to the item or ally 3, assuming no one else wants them, but the ally is a tangential upgrade and the item would just be for trade fodder. Basically, if they're left on the table after everyone else has picked their 2 things, Grazzle will take one, but it is by no means something he really needs.

Grazzle sends a wave of 10 healing to his friends, then heads to Chisisek's Tomb. He doesn't have any attack spells handy, so he will use his Cleric of Nethys to take a peek at what's ahead.

...today is not Grazzle's lucky day. The cleric reports a set of Warrior Dolls down 1 corridor and the Half-Fiend Sphinx down another. Unfortunately, the hallway with the villain is filled with poisonous gas, and Grazzle takes 1d4 ⇒ 1 just a bit of poison damage, and starts rearranging his pack for some unknown reason.
My Steel Ibis Lamellar blocks the damage, but then I recharge my hand & reset my hand, which may end up being a good thing for me...sure enough, I'm now pretty well equipped to fight & heal :)
New Hand: Blessing of the Ancients, Holy Javelin, Druid of the Flame, Remove Curse, Fire Snake, Pyrotechnic Blast, Restorative Touch

With a smirk at the villain, Grazzle pauses to give Radovan time to cut off a potential escape, then heads down the hallway, Holy Javelin at the ready, calling on the Ancients for a blessing.

Villain Fight:

Discarding cards from our decks:
Grazzle: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Seltyiel: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Lem: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Radovan: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Grazzle discards the top 2 cards of his deck, then casts Holy Javelin.
Combat 20/24: 1d8 + 7 + 2d12 + 4 + 1d8 ⇒ (2) + 7 + (4, 7) + 4 + (4) = 28
The villain is down, and assuming Radovan blocked his escape path, we win!! And I draw a spell from the box for the location closing (Clinging Venom, spell B).

But just in case the villain escapes, I will heal myself 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2.

The rest of my turn is in the spoiler tag.

Grazzle heads to meet Seltyiel at the Peasant Tombs, where he explores & finds a Blessing of the Ancients, which he automatically acquires.

He uses the blessing to see just a bit into the future, which shows him a Sling Staff behind a headstone. Since that seems relatively harmless, Grazzle tries to pick it up, but alas, he isn't quite dexterous enough.

Sensing that there are only bad things ahead, Grazzle decides to call on Nethys to show him just a bit more of the future...a Ghoul & a Guecubu. Since Grazzle has both Holy Javelin & Remove Curse, he will take on the Guecubu.
Divine 15: 1d8 + 7 + 2d12 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 7 + (5, 3) + 4 = 27
AYA Scourge: 1d8 ⇒ 2 Grazzle defeats the Guecubu, but is poisoned in the process. Taking no chances, Grazzle immediately cleanses himself of poison.

With that, Grazzle decides to rest a bit, and let Seltyiel clear out the Ghoul & remaining henchman.

Before Seltyiel fights the Ghoul, Grazzle heals himself.
Restorative Touch: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

That puts me at 11 cards in my deck, and I'm going to choose to just recharge Restorative Touch, not shuffle it in, so I know exactly where in my deck it is. I can do a group heal at the start of my next turn.

Since Radovan didn't draw his Cure, I'm instead going to head to Lem's location, since the villain can't be there. I'll examine some cards to recharge my Blessing & Cleric of Nethys in the hopes of drawing my own heal.

Grazzle heads to the Crypt, and asks his Cleric of Nethys to peek ahead for him. He returns with a report of Blightwing and some Steel Ibis Lamellar. Grazzle opts to check out the armor instead of the henchman, using Fire Snake to give him a boost.

Constitution/Divine 9: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Looks like Grazzle has some new armor to wear. He decides to put his Reed Snake Armor back in his pack, because wearing 2 armors at once is just uncomfortable.

Since the henchman is on top of the location & Grazzle doesn't really have a great way to fight (which of course I only noticed after I saw the henchman, so I was ridiculously excited to see the armor), I'm going to stop here. I recharged the cleric, Fire Snake, and the Reed Snake Armor, but I picked up one card, so that means I'll draw 3 of the 5 cards in my deck...but of course I got all but the heal -_- That's okay, we're extremely unlikely to have more than 1 run in with the villain before my next turn, and I can make sure I'll draw it then!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

With the blessing of Abadar watching him, Grazzle heads to the Ruined Temple.

I'd forgotten that I had used my Find Traps for Seltyiel, so I un-discarded my 3 cards, shuffled Find Traps in per my power, and re-discarded 3 cards, which means my heal is actually still in my deck, but I'll draw 1 card, so the net is still 4 in my deck at the end of my turn.
I'm still planning to take the Cure from Radovan at the start of his turn & immediately cast it before Radovan explores on his turn. I'll go ahead and process that now, but put it in spoilers, so Radovan doesn't have to wait on me for his turn. If it looks like I might need the heal sooner, we can just process the spoiler early & assume the Cure is banished instead :)

Spoiler:

Cure: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 *sigh* of course it's a minimum heal. But 2 cards is 2 cards, plus I auto-recharge/shuffle the Cure itself in, which puts me at 7 cards in my deck, two of which are heals, so that isn't so bad. Depending on whether or not I can get a heal from Lem, I might even be able to do a small group heal :)

Grazzle: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Seltyiel: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Lem: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Radovan: 1d4 ⇒ 1

Grazzle decides to discard 3 more cards to fully heal his friends, which luckily does not include his own healing spell, so hopefully he'll draw that for next turn.

While admiring the Altar of Riddles, Grazzle wishes for a blessing. Alas, he instead spots some Warrior Dolls.

He decides to go ahead and go after them. Sensing their weakness to fire, he casts Volcanic Storm.
Combat 18/20: 1d8 + 7 + 3d6 + 4 + 1d8 ⇒ (5) + 7 + (6, 4, 3) + 4 + (8) = 37
The dolls are completely melted. Grazzle asks Pharasma for aid in closing the altar.
Widsom 10: 1d10 + 1 + 1d10 ⇒ (6) + 1 + (3) = 10
Perfect!

Grazzle will start at the Altar of Riddles, but will visit the armor trader & Sunburst Market on the way there.

Usual swaps: BotG for Maat, Wand of Detect Magic for Sun Falcon Pectoral, Heavy Pick for Spear of the Watchful Guardian, Elven Chain Shirt for Remove Curse.

Depending on how many cards we all discard at the start of the game (& whether or not Lem or I have heals in hand), I'll probably do a group heal at the start of my first turn.

With the hour of Maat upon him, Grazzle continues his exploration with Lem.

He finds something that makes him think of Abadar.
Divine 5: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Acquired Blessing of Abadar, recharge Amulet of Life for the odd roll.

Grazzle doesn't feel any need to rush, so he stops to ponder the symmetry of the garden, wondering if there is any armor around...instead he stops short as he spies some Lamia Sisters around a bush!
EOT examine choosing armor, but instead it's the henchman with a trigger...Grazzle doesn't do Stealth, so he's going to cast Fire Snake & since he's super Divine, they just don't notice him or the burning snake...
Stealth/Divine 7: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Recharging Volcanic Storm for the odd roll & ending my turn. I'm happy to take one of the combat checks on the Lamia Sisters though, since I've got a Holy Javelin that works pretty well against henchmen...

Grazzle removed the scourge Seltyiel got for overdefeating the Thunder Lizard as soon as he got it, but that means Radovan had to roll 1d6 for the Second Law (which Seltyiel examined at the end of his turn) after beating Hepsushep, and since I will need to know if it's there or not in case I run into a barrier, I will go ahead and roll it for him.
1d6 ⇒ 3
Nope, looks like Radovan sets off the Second Law. I'm not sure if he wants to banish a card or do the Voices of the Spire, so I'm going to let him figure that out, and I'll just head to the last garden, so I don't get in the way if he needs to redo his turn.

Under the watchful eye of Horus, Grazzle sends a wave of 6 healing towards Radovan before heading to the last unexplored Garden of Symmetry.
I discarded 3 cards (both of my allies & Find Traps), so Radovan can heal for 6.

As he arrives, Grazzle spots a spell scroll for Corrosion under a rock.
Divine 7: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
He tucks it into his pack.
I think we're out of curses for me to remove, since Radovan triggered the Second Law, but I was under 6 over-acquiring it.

The Sun Falcon Pectoral helps him to spot another spell scroll nearby: Channel the Gift. Grazzle calls on the gods to bless his check.
Divine 12: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (8, 8) + 7 = 23
He picks up the spell & decides to hang on to it for later.

With Abadar smiling upon him, Grazzle sets out for a different Garden of Symmetry than his friends, hoping to have better luck (location #4).

Naturally, the first thing he finds is the Cultist of Unpronounceable. Luckily, Grazzle prepared a Cloudburst just for this occasion, so he can skip that miserable BYA.
Combat 19: 1d8 + 7 + 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 7 + (2, 2, 1) + 4 = 23
Oh thank goodness. I was very concerned I'd roll all odds & be over 27, and then I might not have been able to close. But with 2 odds, I'm recharging the spear & my Pyrotechnic Blast, then I'll recharge Remove Curse & Fire Snake for the close. And during recovery, those will all get shuffled back into my deck thanks to Cloudburst. And I'll skip the end of turn location power, since I don't have anything in my discard pile.

With the cultist dead, Grazzle looks around the garden. It's so peaceful here, perhaps he'll spend a moment resting before heading somewhere else.

Also starting at the Altar of Riddles & heading to the armor trader. I forgot we got a hero point to use on a feat, so I’m going to figure out what I’m doing with that tomorrow.

Thank you for the healing Lem! I got back a couple of blessings, Fire Snake, and my cleric of Nethys.
Lightning Storm: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Sweet, the storm is banished!

Grazzle runs into some Mummia Smugglers.
Charisma 8: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
And they kindly allow me to explore again...or maybe not too kindly, as I walked into a Shasalqu...
BYA Wisdom 6: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
I pass, but everyone else also needs to make a Wisdom 6 check or recharge 1d4 cards. Since it's immune to both Cold & Fire, I'll be using Holy Javelin.
Combat 9: 1d8 + 7 + 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 7 + (8, 1) + 2 = 23
...I was hoping I'd roll low enough I could use my Maat to get it under 15, but nope. We all take 1 Cold damage. And I take 1d4 ⇒ 4 electricity damage for overkill, as well as scourge: 1d8 ⇒ 2 poisoning, cool. I'll reveal my armor & recharge my Maat to block all of the damage & use Remove Curse.
scenario text for recharging my spell: 1d8 ⇒ 3
scenario text for recharging Remove Curse: 1d8 ⇒ 4

Grazzle heads to the Scorched Obelisk under the watchful eye of Bastet.

Upon his arrival, he finds an Acid Pool.
Looks like the only help I can get is a Maat after the roll. And Core rules mean I can only take one of them, so this will definitely be iffy -_- I should have known better than to explore...
Survival 13: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Ouch, I'm just going to use my reroll on that...
reroll: 1d10 ⇒ 10
Okay, that's way better. Now for the close check, where I'm hoping to get close enough that a Maat works...
Constitution 9: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Unfortunately, a Maat will not help with that, and we can only use 1 card, so it might have been better if I had failed the Acid Pool :( I'll stop here. My armor reveals to block the acid damage)

With the eyes of Thoth upon him, Grazzle heads to the Windswept Chasm, where he finds an Acid Pool.
Since I'll be discarding my hand to close & this is an Obstacle, I'm going to use Pyrotechnic Blast. I'm probably going to want healing from Lem next turn anyway, since I'll be discarding a bunch of good stuff, so I'm not too worried about overkill, since he's got Restorative Touch in hand, so I might as well use my blessing too.
Divine 13: 1d8 + 7 + 2d4 + 2 + 1d8 ⇒ (4) + 7 + (2, 1) + 2 + (3) = 19
Since I'm at exactly 6 overkill, I'll discard my Cleric of Nethys to drop it down by 2 and avoid the scourge. And then I'll discard the rest of my hand to close the location, then draw for the permanently closed text.
1d4 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
Scenario power for Pyrotechnic Blast: 1d8 ⇒ 8

I picked my spear back up again, but I may track Lem down for a heal on my next turn.

Grazzle winces as he sees lightning in the distance. Good thing he decided to check out this obelisk instead of the other one.

As he starts to walk toward the Towering Obelisk, Grazzle walks right into a Bonestorm. Luckily, he has Volcanic Storm in hand.
Combat 17/21: 1d8 + 7 + 3d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 + (3, 2, 4) + 2 = 22

With the Bonestorm banished, Grazzle continues forward with the help of his Druid of the Flame friend, who finds a Chakram, which Grazzle ignores.

Scenario power for Volcanic Swarm: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Nothing happens, so the spell shuffles back into Grazzle's deck.

Grazzle drops his spear as some acid splashes down from the sky. Sheesh, this weather is really bizarre.

I'd like to swap my Ghost Whip spell for the Reed Snake Armor (because I can't spell the bottom one consistently, so I'll just end up screwing up my deck...). And then I'll actually swap my Heavy Pick for the spear & my Elven Chain Shirt for the Remove Curse from Sunburst per usual.

Heavy Pick -> Spear of the Watchful Guardian
Elven Chain Shirt -> Remove Curse (Sunburst)
BotG 2 -> Blessing of Maat
Wand of Detect Magic -> Sun Falcon Pectoral
Ghost Whip -> Reed Snake Armor

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Grazzle is starting at the Towering Obelisk, but first he stops by the armor trader & Sunburst Market.

I'm swapping a BotG for a Maat & my Wand of Detect Magic for the Sun Falcon Pectoral, then trading my Heavy Pick for Remove Curse at the market. I'm skipping the spear this round because I want to keep an extra armor just in case I get stuck with the Lightning Storm a few times...
