Once a ranger was called by a small village to deal with a strange monster that has been stalking cattle for quite a while. After a few days he found an unusual trail , which led him to a creature he had never seen before. It was covered in coarse white fur, hiding it well against the snowy ground, with a long muscular tail, almost three quarters the length of its body and it was currently, messily devouring the carcass of a rather slim sheep. What truly surprised him was, when the creature raised it's head, he saw not the face of a beast, but a human one, albeit covered in short fur. After overcoming his surprise he decided to approach the furred child, using all his animal handling Knowledge to avoid the being going into fight or fright. Beside a minor hiccup that happened upon touching her, and ended with him having to remove her jaws from his leather armor,  but as he staid calm the girl, from up close she was identifiable as such, calmed down as well.

After some deliberation he decided to take her to a friendly Druidic circle, the circle of the white forest. The druids accepted the child first as a curiosity, no one could was quite sure  what she was a tail like a lizard, a fur like a ferret, horns like an antelope and the teeth of an ape, after the confusion about her nature abated, as a member of the family.

She trained with the other initiates and sometimes with their companions after relearning the common thong  (and loosing the rather strong mamothlord dialect), while she had little problems with the lore and quite a headstart in wilderness Survival she had little to no tallent for magic. That changed when an elder druid demonstrate the art of wildshaping turning into a mighty dire bear, while she didn't manage to truly change into a bear, she managed to turn her fur brown and grow quite impressive claws. Upon noticing this her training changed, she trained more often with the animal companions and the advaced students learning wildshaping.

Kirpi took to a wandering existence like many her drouid brothers and sisters did, periodically returning to the circle. One such journey, spurned by an unusual change in weather pattern lead her further into Irisen than she usually ventured.
