My group was doing very well. We got the documents, we saved the lady from the basilisks, we protected the astronomer from the elementals. And then, at the end, because of bad dice rolls, bad party make-up, or unreasonable skill DCs, (I don't know which) we failed the trade negotiations and failed the primary and secondary objectives. We succeeded with flying colors on 3/4s of the adventure, and still got nothing. Doesn't seem very balanced.
