The young cleric, Kiana Lynray, rushes up to the scene of destruction and immediately embraces Mantooth.

"Thank the Inheritor you are alive! You have all saved Brindol from destruction. Please, let me help you with your wounds."

You make your way down the street back to the cathedral. Once inside, the familiar face of Kiana Lynray greets you. "Thank goodness you've made it back alive! What happened to the sniper? Will he be poisoning any more of our people?"

"Bofus, you look like you could use some healing. Let me see what I can do for you."

The cleric liberally applies a wand of cure wounds repeatedly until the halfling's wounds are completely healed and he is back up to full strength.

"If you don't want to leave through the front doors, come with me. There is a back entrance that I can take you out. Hurry, follow me."

Kiana takes you through the main sanctuary and through a door in the back. You pass many soldiers wounded and lying in beds throughout the temple. Once in the back of the Cathedral, Kiana takes you to a side door. "This will lead you out into the side garden. There are trees there for cover. If you need anything, don't hesitate to come back! May the Inheritor bless you!" With those words, Kiana casts Bless and a burst of light engulfs all of you all of you. You feel a little more strength and inspiration surge through you.

"We have much yet to do though..."

"Well, it was a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Red. I'm sorry that it has to be here in Brindol under such dire circumstances. At the very least, I'm glad that I was able to give you some assistance in healing you up. Be sure to keep safe and to protect each other. Good luck with your stories about dragons. . . "

Suddenly, as if she summoned the dragon with the mention of the creature, the ground shakes as a great thud can be heard. You suspect something large has landed just outside of the cathedral.

"Dearest Inheritor, protect us! I think Abithriax has arrived!"

Inside the Cathedral

"Forgive me, Mister Red. I do not believe we've met. I am Kiana Lynray." She says as she offers a hand. "I am a cleric here at the Cathedral of Peace Through Vigilance. Tell me about yourself. What brings you to Brindol here in our time of trouble?"

While she visits, she uses the wand to repeatedly cast Cure Light Wounds on Red.

Cure Light Wounds: 5d8 + 5 ⇒ (4, 8, 7, 8, 5) + 5 = 37

"I hope this helps. Normally a wand of this sort can heal up a soldier with just one or two taps. I'm not sure why this one took so many charges."

"We play a little harder than most you see?"

"Well, if you call that play, I would say you are being far too rough! I need you to take care of each other! We cannot afford to lose any one of you! You don't need to all be heroes out there!" She gives Mantooth a concerned glance. Turning to Thordak she says, "Now come here, Master Dwarf, and let me take care of those wounds."

Pulling forth a wand of cure light wounds, the cleric begins drawing from its divine power to repeatedly cast cure light wounds nine times on Thordak.

Cure Light Wounds on Thordak: 9d8 + 9 ⇒ (4, 2, 6, 5, 6, 6, 8, 3, 8) + 9 = 57

"Alright! Who is next? Come here, Bofus. Let me give you a tap of healing."

Cure Light Wounds on Bofus: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (2, 5) + 2 = 9

"It is your turn, Mantooth! These wounds look terribly painful."

Cure Light Wounds on Mantooth: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (8, 4) + 2 = 14

"Alright, Is there anyone else to draw some magical healing? What do you propose doing to keep yourself alive against that red dragon?"

"Considering all that you do for Brindol, I am certain that we could provide you with some healing. I think I could find you whatever healing you are in need of. What will it be, my friends?"

"Mantooth!" A familiar face smiles as she runs up and embraces the paladin as he enters the cathedral. "Am I glad to see you! Are you alright? I've been so worried about you! I heard that the Red Dragon has been blasting people right and left with its awful scorching fire. I feared that maybe you were one of them.
