"How do we know that this is a rakshasa at all? We keep hearing the word thrown around but we've seen no evidence of it. For all we know it could just be something else entirely, claiming to be a rakshasa to make themselves sound more important. Maybe it's just a catfolk with delusions of grandeur? This entire situation seems... very odd. Our best bet would likely to be find this beastmaster for ourselves. And identify if Zinnath's cousins should be allowed to run wild in the city. I'm still not going to release something that might burn someone's home down."

Female Human Unchained Rogue 1

"He can be both. Show himself to the public as the main attraction, as well as be the Beastmaster in another persona. It provides a convenient way to get around while still letting people think he's contained." She mumbled to herself, starting to feel a bit nervous about this whole thing. She didn't necessarily know what a Rakshasa is, but it sounded like it was going to be rather dangerous.

Female Human Unchained Rogue 1

She slips back to the party after not finding the possible prisoners or slaves. Just a pair of Oliphaunts. Sighing slightly, she made a small hand gesture at hearing everyone's suggestions. "The more valuable the prize the tighter the security. The smarter the prisoner the stronger the prison. Odds are wherever these dragons are, they're someplace that'll be difficult to reach. Considering they only used rope for the Oliphaunts... If need be we can make a distraction."

She lets out a small sigh as everyone heads into the carnival, following after as Nbazi covers the cost of entry. Haggling was never really something she understood herself. Just pay what the person asks, it's not worth the trouble. If they're trying to rip you off, just steal it back later. Even still, she followed along, taking everything in. Like Nbazi, she focuses on trying to find anything that shouldn't be in a cage. Whether that be because it should be dead, or because it should be free.

"Also, I don't think it really matters if they keep like... literal animals. The issue is they're keeping things that are too dangerous or are being enslaved."

Just in case there's something she might recognize via Dungeoneering, gonna roll it.

Okay, finished up with the College Semester so I've got plenty of free time. I'm a little confused at the moment, have we paid to be able to go into the carnival or do we still need to convince them?

”Ohhhh! Soooo, Kee kee naa will be deciding which sentients can be caged, and which ones are worthy of being freed!”

"I"m not going to see innocent people die because we let something out that shouldn't be let out. We'll figure something out if we find something too dangerous to let run wild." She grumbled back at the dragon in her thoughts, crossing her arms as she waited to see if the two halflings convinced the clerks to let them in for cheap.

Female Human Unchained Rogue 1

It didn't really look that out of place to her. Tents, cages, animals, and monsters. She'd have to identify exactly what was what before she'd make a decision on what might need freeing. If they were imprisoning a fairy dragon though, then the odds are they have at least a few things they shouldn't... At the sudden voice in her head, she jumped, whirling to stare at the 'volcano' dragon on Nbazi's shoulders. How the hell does she... "We can't just do that. If there's a tiger demon or some other dangerous beast, letting it loose could hurt a lot of people. We search the place, figure out what should be in a cage and what shouldn't, and go from there."

Female Human Unchained Rogue 1

"I've got most of the day free... So, yes, I can go now. Assuming of course Yumbu is wanting to go? I mostly came to thank you for all the help you gave me. If that means going to this carnival, then I'll go to the carnival." She looked over at Yumbu as she said this. Though some part of her did want to check it out. This entire thing stank of the sorts of things she saw back in Sargava, but well, she had a debt.

“I can pay for both of you”

"You don't have to pay for me. I can manage one silver..." She winced slightly at the mention of money, though not for the reason Yumbu might think. In reality, she was holding onto a fairly decent sum of gold. The savings she'd made from her job back in the Sargavan Guard. She was just... extremely reluctant to use it. She told herself it was meant for an emergency but in reality... It was just blood money to her.

It'd need to be spent on something important. Getting into a carnival that might have imprisoned people in it sounded important. "So we all can agree that carnival sounds a little fishy, right?"

Female Human Unchained Rogue 1

"Volcano. Have you never heard of them? They're these great big mountains, which sometimes erupt in an explosion of fire. Very dangerous." She made a small show of talking really slowly like she was explaining the idea to a child. Mostly because she could smell something fishy a mile away, and the idea of riling these guys up a bit sounded good. Who needed to have a huddle when pressed with the question of what attractions were at their carnival?

No, odds are, they either were telling partial truths or just straight-up lying. They were just telling the big guy what he wanted to hear. She glanced over at Yumbu, suddenly feeling very cognizant of the fact that there were some people here who probably weren't the best in a brawl.

Kikina let out a small sigh as she lacked total self-awareness. The message was completely lost on her. Slowly placing her palm against her face, she let out a long sigh. Only to catch wind of whatever was happening in the rest of the bar. Her eyes flicked over to them from around her hand, trying to get a good look at the man looking for the little dragon.

Was it anything terrible? Bounty hunters? Poachers? The first seemed more likely than the second. Yet, still unlikely. It'd require a motive. Had this little dragon made any enemies? The second had a motive. At the least, they weren't going to find them instantly. They'd turned their scales red earlier with magic, so unless they had a way of detecting that. He was safe for now.

Or they would just walk up and ask. She squinted up at the men, ignoring Yumbulika being her usual friendly self for a moment. Her hand twitched, as she really wanted to reach for her bandolier. "A white fairy dragon's kind of a specific thing to ask after. Why in the world you be looking for one?"

Female Human Unchained Rogue 1

"Are you sure you're not being stubborn about this? She tried, equally gently, to convince her that maybe this wasn't the best idea. If she was going to use idioms... "My mother once told me, not to miss the bird on my head for the one in the tree. The whole "half-full" or "half-empty" comment kind of implies only one option."

"Also you're not short, you're fun-sized." That's a comment she'd heard before about halflings back home. There were a couple of men and at least one woman who was interested in them. Of course, she'd also arrested at least one of them for harassing halflings.

It then registered that she was planning, at some point, she was gonna wander off into the jungle with a griipli. She blinked a few times before letting out a small sigh. She directed her next comment toward Kugu. "You do know where you're trying to go, right? Not just wandering around the jungle?"

Female Human Unchained Rogue 1

"Yeah, he lives closer to the outskirts. So it kind of makes sense that you wouldn't know him." Not really, Kiki expected her to no literally everyone in this city, considering how friendly she was. "But yeah, he's letting me stay in the shop. It's a closet, but it's enough. Says it helps make sure no one robs him in the middle of the night."

"... Also, I think that might be a deal-breaker. Being allergic to someone's livelihood..." The dragon finally managed to say her name correctly. Her eyes went to it, and she gave them a very... very awkward smile. How the hells do you even react to a dragon? Why was there a dragon here?

“Kikina!” The petite contortionist beams as she finally notices the rogue sitting next to her. “You are so stealthy—I almost didn’t see you! Did you have any luck with that job helping the thatcher? There were so many leaks this rainy season. Though I guess that might have dried up by now.” The halfling pauses, as if thinking about other job opportunities, then suddenly changes direction. “Oh, everybody: this is Kikina. She’s new to Nantambu, so please give her a warm welcome.” Seemingly oblivious to any discomfort Kikina might be showing, she turns back to her newfound friend with urgent compassion. “You still have a place to stay, right? If not, Baz has plenty of room with his family. Right Baz?”

"Yumbulika. She gave the halfling a small smile as she took notice of her. It hadn't been that long, so she couldn't complain. Of course, not that she would have gotten the chance to really complain. The other halfling talked so quickly that by the time she thought of a response, she was introducing her to the rest of the group. With everyone's eyes on her, she froze for a moment, before forcing an awkward smile onto her face. Giving a tiny, half-hearted wave as... the tiny dragon started repeating her name.

Okay, refocus on the less awkward thing. "To answer your question, the thatcher job went fine. Bit... prickly, and got straw places I'd never want the straw to get. It went fine though. Of course with the dry season, they didn't need me anymore... But I don't need a new place to stay! The thatcher managed to point me to a shop that wanted a clerk. Owned by Juttu, if you know the guy? So uh, no need to go asking your friends if I can say with them for me..."

So fix it? You have 28 more minutes to adjust the post.

My initial post was yesterday, not the one you're thinking of. I fixed it for my second post.

Luckily, it was pretty easy for Kikina to actually find her Yumbulika. There really were only a couple of places she could be. Performing somewhere, in which case she'd just have to look for a crowd. Otherwise, she was probably relaxing at a bar. So it didn't take her long to get to the market and spot the halfling at one of the open-air bars.

What wasn't so great, was the fact she was with a fairly wide ensemble cast of random people. The last thing she wanted to do was entertain a bunch of random small talk, but... A sigh escaped her as she went over. It was too late to back out now. So she slid into a spot beside the halfling, she makes a motion to the barkeep. "Some Mbege when you get the time."

Her eyes turn over to the rest of the little group as she waits for her drink, awkwardly waiting to see if Yumbulika would notice her presence.

A long, suffering sigh escaped Kikina as she straightened up. She should be more appreciative of the job, but... it was just so dull. At the least, she had a roof over her head. Shaking her head, she gave a lazy wave to Old Juttu as she went outside. They'd already discussed her taking this day off.

Finding a job that fits her skillset had been difficult. It would have been impossible for her if not for the help she got. Which, was part of the reason she was taking the day off. She had a halfling to find. Trying to not stand out too much in the city, her search for Inyoni began.

Female Human Unchained Rogue 1

I still exist, I just haven't seen any reason to comment up until now. Gonna get a post up.

@Kikina: Yumbulika might have noticed Kikina wandering around Nantambu, looking lost, and offered to help her e.g. find a place to stay, find a job. She would be the glass-half-full to Kikina’s glass-half-empty. Just an idea.

Really no other options for it beyond her wandering over to Nantambu at some point. So that works about as well as anything.

Female Human Unchained Rogue 1

Sadly Kikina is not from Nantambu, and I'm not sure exactly how they'd meet. It's a bit of a trek from Sargava to there after all.

Female Human Unchained Rogue 1

I'll agree with the pack against adding any new rules into this. It just doesn't seem particularly necessary in the grand scheme of things. Even though it doesn't really matter to Kikina's build.

Female Human Unchained Rogue 1

So where we dropping boys?

Anyway, I suppose that this is meant to double-check who showed interest but is still around. Maybe discuss what kind of team should be made, what possible connections there are?

And just in time for the deadline, I finish my sheet. Kikina Ilaki is a Sargavan Native (as in not a Colonial), with a past she's not proud of and a rebellious spirit. Unchained Rogue with no Archetype, just a lot of daggers and gumption. Also, this is Berrybunch.
