I often wondered why Paizo or no other of the larger Roleplaying Game Companies (WOTC, FFG, etc.) have TV commercials to advertise their products. I can see some really great commercials that could be done for various games, including big brand names like Marvel, DC Comics, and even Star Wars RPG merchandise. Is RPG gaming as bad as cigarette ads? Is there a legal reason? I'm sure $$$ COSTS $$ is the first argument but when i see some other lousy unheard of items that can afford to get commercials why no RPG's?

Just curious,

Howdy all,

This has been a topic of discussion among several groups at conventions over the past year as well as Pathfinder groups and players in my own local circle. The topic of conversation is burning out on Adventure Paths before they are through. My group has only successfully completed one entire AP out of seven played, and that was Second Darkness. The idea is everyone wouldn't mind being a pirate, but not six adventures of pirating. Everyone likes the idea of raiding a Pharaohs tomb for a couple of adventures, but after four or five of the same thing they burn out. Same with all the other themed AP's. I know we have skipped entire adventures (that we paid for) just to get on to the finale because the rest of the adventures were dragging.....
Second Darkness wasn't this way because it started as a town/city based adventure, then moved onto an island, then into the forest, then a lost city, and then the Underdark. It kept changing and therefore kept everyones interest. We really enjoyed it.
After hearing other players at conventions discuss the same issue with AP's that we were having we all agreed on the same thing: shorter Adventure Paths. A TRILOGY.
The following things discussed why it might be a better product model going forward:
A. Wait. Not having to wait half a year. (I know my group personally had no interest in the Iron Gods AP and we have to wait SIX MONTHS for another.) A trilogy would mean only a three month wait for a different 'flavor'.
B. Price. If you want to play an AP now, you have to commit to over $120 ($20 for 6 modules) A trilogy would only be $60, so people would be more willing to buy/try an AP for that price. This just makes for better business with the poor gamers such as myself.
C. Variety. Writers would have more opportunity to flesh out Golarion by having FOUR AP's a year instead of two.

What do you guys think? I understand that the current AP's must be working as a product or they wouldn't still be publishing them, but going forward what do you guys and gals think?
Does anyone elses group seem to lose interest before finishing a long Adventure Path or are you deterred from the start by the thought of having to spend over $120 for one campaign? What are your thoughts on this. just curious. Thanks.

If you plan on running Mummy's Mask sometime in the future, I came across a cool soundtrack/ album on Kickstarter by the man who did the music for the video games Pharaoh and Zeus. It's called TALES OF THE SUN GOD. Check it out.

Other than the Wrath of the Righteous Adventure Path, does PAIZO have any future plans to release any other MYTHIC adventures/modules?

I am curious. We are on the Wrath of the Righteous Adventure Path and using the Mythic Adventures. My Wizard 5/Archmage Tier 1 has CRAFT WAND, he also has is able to cast the Mythic Spell: Mythic Magic Missile. I can create a normal Wand of Magic Missiles simply. BUT, what does it take for me to create a Wand of MYTHIC Magic Missiles?? Or a Wand of Mythic Fireballs, etc, etc?? Or Staff or Rod...(Non-Legendary Item)

CAYDEN'S BANQUET
Conjuration (Creation) Level: Brd 3, Clr 4
Components: V, S, DF
Casting Time: 10 minutes
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Effect: Feast for two creatures/level
Duration: 4 hours
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No

This greatly advanced form of Create Food and Water is actually more similar to a lesser Heroes Feast but without the beneficial effects. You bring forth a great feast, including a magnificent table, chairs, light braziers, candles, service, and food and drink. A banner flies at the head of the table emblazoned with a crest or logo of the caster’s choosing (often in honor of Cayden Cailean). The food and drink is of excellent quality as if a master chef had prepared it. The wines are all of well known vintages and the ale is ice cold. Unseen servants appear and serve the banquet throughout the duration, readily refilling anyone’s drink or passing down trays of extra food. Additionally, animated instruments appear in mid-air nearby the banquet table and strike up tunes of merriment, even taking well-known requests. If cast outdoors a tent awning appears over the entire length of the table providing moderate cover from rain and sun as well as a magical bug-free zone. The banquet lasts up to 4 hours (or can be dismissed early) before the music comes to a final end. Shortly thereafter, any remaining uneaten food or drink disappears from the table. Two rounds later the banquet table itself disappears. On the following round the chairs vanish.

So, did i miss this headline somewhere? What Adventure Path is going to follow Reign of Winter? (even if we don't have a name yet, do we have a plot seed?)

thanks.

Greetings,

Maybe i missed it or just don't want to read through hundreds of posts and forums, but is Paizo releasing the Emerald Spire Superdungeon as a hardback adventure module available in stores? and if so, when?

no offense (don't want to hear about kickstarter subscribers...thats not my question) will i be able to go into my local game shop and buy it?

Thank you,
Kettlebriar

I have seen other posts asking what would you like to see done with Pathfinder as a Poll. The highest percentage is a new world. I have also seen posts asking what you dislike most about Golarion and the most common answer seemed to be how all the kingdoms mimic earth-based cultures despite being a fantasy world.
There is too much work already put into golarion to dismiss, and all the land in the Inner Sea Region is accounted for. The new plan? A new continent. Just like the Dragon Empires (another earth-based culture though) but this time make these lands truly different than anything encountered on earth. Real unique high fantasy kingdoms and entire kingdoms full of ruins of ancient civilizations. some classic dungeon adveturing. Maybe a couple of completely different kingdoms at war. Etc. And we don't have to have it all at once like the entire Inner Sea. It could be trickled out and the map gradually allowed to grow and expand the region slowly as the work load could be handled. The new continent exists across a vast impassable ocean. So, what would you like to see on this new continent?

So, we are discussing getting our party together for Carrion Crown. Here is the party so far:

Human Alchemist (mad scientist in lab coat)

Dhampir Inquistor of Pharasma(Van Helsing/Vampire Hunter D/Solomon Kane)

Human Oracle (hunchback like Igor)

Changeling Witch

My question is.........wouldn't the Inquistor burn the witch at the stake in Ustalav? (and there's no denying what she is- she doesn't try and pretend to be another class...)
How can i have such a party get along or should we just take the simple way out and ditch the witch for something like a Paladin?

Howdy,
This may have already been answered and i didnt know quite which forum this question should be under so i dropped it here. Anyway, in Racing to Ruin, the Sargavan Government may try to lure PC's by offering them a noble title and giving them land. I looked in my copy of Sargava the Lost Colony and on that page and there is a chart called LAND AND TITLES, but it only lists the land acres and costs - they forgot to put the Titles. Is this a mistake? Where can i find these titles?

Thanks.

So, it states that the PC's go ahead of the Main Expedition as trailblazers. Two questions:

First- Without having the 3rd adventure when they all arrive at the Lost City, I am curious how big is the Main Expedition? And what does it consist of? A dozen, or more like 40-50 laborers, archaeologists, guards, pack animals, guides, etc? How big are the other Faction's Expeditions?

Second- How big can the lead party be and how would XP be divided if they acquire extra NPC members? If they let Nkechi and later Athyra join their group as guides and also knowing it is a couple of month trek, the PC's may take on porters of their own to carry enough gear for such a trip. If you have half a dozen or so extra people in your party (like in Smuggler's Shiv) you sort of have a small army when it comes to the encounters. Are you supposed to beef up ALL encounters? And if the PC's hire guards..."Send in the first wave of troops to take out the chemosits..." who gets the XP? (Are all these people staying at Cheiton's house too? hehe)

Just curious.

Greetings,

I noticed today the money has already been removed from my account for my Serpents Skull subscription. On average, how many days after that can I expenct access to the PDF of Racing to Ruin? Does anyone know an exact day for it to ship as well?

I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve right now...

I edited this map to better visualize and help me understand the layout of the island of Smuggler's Shiv. Hope it helps.

Hello,

Does anyone out there have any new Pathfinder Character Sheets since the Advanced Players Guide came out. I was disappointed it did not contain an updated sheet with places for Traits and Hero Points, etc.
Is Paizo going to release a new one, or is my best hope going to be something fanmade?

Thanks
