Witnessing the reunion warmed Katniss’ heart. This was indeed a priceless reward, captured in her memory and will live on through her journey.

She bids farewell to everyone and heads south towards the elven forest.

The potion Grace gave relieved her from her fatal wounds. Callistos helped her stand on her feet. She also reaches out to the minor elixir potion Xila gave her and drinks it to further heal her wounds.

She moves towards the direction of Babs. She gently pats its head and caresses its body.

She smiles at the small dinosaur and calms it down.

Oh I forgot about the fortitude save against the poison.

Katniss was able to dodge Glorzia’s first attack, however, the second attack caught her off guard. The venomous jaw attack from Yellow also slowed her down. She had no choice but to drink one minor healing potion. Due to the close distance of the enemy, she decides to switch her longbow with her elven curve blade.

You have no right to steal and manipulate these creatures! They have feelings and families too! The elven gods shall punish you for all your actions against morality!

Katniss, feeling revitalized and ready to counterattack, wields the blade on her left hand.

Katniss uses her survival ability, survey wildlife, to study the details of the area in an attempt determine the presence of nearby creatures.

Katniss and the team head west, guided by the thief’s footsteps. As they approach the wooded valley, Katniss senses danger.

Whoever stole the dinosaur should not be taken lightly.

She equips her longbow and arrow, and continued to track the dinosaur thief.

Calm down, Xila. We’ll help you find Babs. Katniss comforts Xila while trying to figure out what happened to Babs.

There could only be two things that happened to Babs. One is she escaped the enclosure and got lost and the other is she was stolen by whoever left these footprints and destroyed the fence. But why do I have this eerie feeling that it’s the latter.

I did assume that Babs was a girl. Haha!

Katniss’ instincts are telling her to follow the footprints as it might lead them to the whereabouts of Babs. She calls Kupa and the two try to track down the mysterious creature that left these marks.

Seeing Kupa distracted and hearing Grace’s question, Katniss searches and investigates the area to find out how the dinosaurs broke free.

After helping her rebuild the enclosure, Katniss orders Kupa to look around for clues that might help the team identify the root cause of this problem.

She then notices a dinosaur playing near the bush where she was standing. She moves towards that direction, carefully landing her steps not to produce any sound. And when she was close enough, she grabs the little dinosaur by it’s body.

Gocha!

The dinosaur was caught off guard and had no time to react. Katniss let’s out a charming smile and talks to it as she returns it to the newly repaired enclosure.

“No need to worry, we’ll keep you safe until you are returned to your family.”

Whoohh…whoohh…

There you are Kupa. Come and help me fix their cage!

Katniss whistles and summons Kupa, her baby wolf companion to help her gather fallen tree branches around the area. She brings out a rope and tries to fix the broken enclosure to prevent the dinosaurs from escaping.

Katniss moves closer to the animal pen and plays with a few of them.

His enemy having eluded him, our warmongering hero arrives on the scene.

"That damned bird" he points at it, firing an arrow from his bow, which flies wide "I have layed claim to it - stand down, you!" yelling at the group apparently, and seemingly having decided that the woodpecker has caused some sort of irreparable harm, now yelling at the bird "get back here, you!"

Storming right past everyone, a hobgoblin in stylized armor carrying a handful of stylized weapons, and bent with a very serious expression, beelines right after the winged creature.

Whooooosh!!!

Stop you crazy goblin! That bird is nothing but innocent.

The woodpecker that hovers above you seems to fly towards the direction of Xila mentioned in the posted note. The bird keeps doing this and returns above you hovering, wanting to get your attention.

Hey guys, uhhh, I think the bird’s tryin’ to tell us something.

"I haven't actually seen one, either." Adds a young human man loitering nearby. He is a tall, handsome and blonde. Around 6'4", he is powerfully built and wears old but well-made hide armour. He also carries an elegant bastard sword.

"Hello, I'm Cal. I'm in training to become a Pathfinder agent. My teachers think I need to broaden my horizons." he looks a little sullen. "I grew up on a farm, so that looks like something I could help out with."

Hey handsome. Nice armor you got there.

Katniss teases Callistos as she puts her palm across his chest.

Hey! Look who we have here... I hope you haven’t forgotten about me, you two.

Katniss, a fair-skinned and evergreen-haired woodland elf enters the conversation as she puts her arms across Grace’s and Tempest’s shoulders.

Mind if I join you on this mission? My skills in both close and ranged combat might come in handy.

Though I’ve never seen dinosaurs before, I’ve heard stories about it from my grandma. She said they can be the most peaceful but also the most destructive creatures.

Whew! My apologies. The sea breeze has affected my arrow’s trajectory.

So there’s one more left huh.

To get a better view, Katniss swims to the nearest rock and climbs on top of it.

Katniss charges her arrow, aims at Pink, breathes in and out, and finally shoots two arrows in succession.

Katniss equips her long bow and shoots an arrow towards Red. She then commands Kupa to go and attack Green using his Jaws.

Having identified most of the items, you are all happy for what you have recovered for Laela. She will be very happy too with the nice haul you have for her.

And after some time, you all notice that the surrounding becomes eerily silent. There is no wind to blow the tattered sail, even a gentle one. The sun shines brightly above you but that’s it. The seawater seems to recede to somewhat reveal a foot or two of the submerged part of the wreckage when…

To your surprise, again, a surging wave crashes into you.

WOOOOOOSSSHHHH!

Attempt a DC 14 Fortitude save to avoid being knocked prone. Creatures with Swim speeds are unaffected.

Katniss Fortitude: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

Kupa Fortitude: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

This time, Katniss and Kupa was able to resist the knocking force of the wave.

Thievery: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Katniss tries to open the box that Mako found and Gympie recovered. She discovers an interesting item.

Recall Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Tempest is able to resist the push of the big wave. Hamilton gets to admire the wave before he gets tossed out of the skiff with Polo. Gympie is also not spared by the sea whereas Grace-13 is able to get a hold on the skiff and is not overthrown. Mako seems to have fun with the wave like in a roller coaster ride while Katniss isn’t strong enough to hold against the wave crash.

Fortunately for the party, they aren’t in any real danger of drowning, as the water is mostly calm, well, except for that big wave. However, the experience of being thoroughly soaked combined with the chill sea breeze is an unpleasant one. Laela, who seems tethered and unmoved on her skiff, helps Gympie to get back on the skiff whereas Tempest helps Hamilton, Polo and Katniss into the boat as well.

”Good thing the sea is calm here. Hehe! Anyway, we’re almost there, you see.”

She continues rowing the skiff, carrying half of her party drenched with seawater. She navigates to the mostly intact bow of the Infidius.

”Okay, okay, you get out of my skiff now,” pushing them to disembark and go towards the sturdy part of the wreckage. ”I don’t wanna get close to that or my skiff will add to the ruins. Okay, listen now. You need to find and bring back whatever you can. I will get back to you after half an hour before the tide gets high here. But don’t you lot worry ‘coz I am just close behind, and I am leaving you this whistle in case you run into trouble, or if you need to leave sooner,” she explains and hands over a signal whistle to Katniss. She then leaves the party on the wreckage, the sea humming in a silent background.

Shattered sections of bulwark bob in the open waters of the wreckage. A massive sail grasps for the sky, barely tethered to a fractured mast. The ship’s cabin door hangs open by a hinge, the interior appearing tossed for valuables. With nothing but barnacles left on deck, and a few barrels buoying between the rocks, the party can quickly appraise that anything worth...

I will keep this safe.

Katniss receives the whistle. She brings out a string of rope, inserted the whistle and tied it around her neck.

Katniss wanted to search for treasure. But because of the incident a little while ago, salty water got into her eyes, irritating them and impairing her vision for the mean time.

Katniss holds on to the boat but the large wave overpowered her grip.

Heeeeelppppp!!!

Meanwhile, she told Kupa to hide under the sit of the wooden skiff and was safe from being swept away.

Katniss quickly heads outside and blows her wooden whistle, signaling Kupa that it’s time to go.

Sitting alone at Clenchjaw’s Tavern was a fair-skinned elf with an evergreen hair. Being next to their table, she couldn’t help but eavesdrop about Laela Vost’s treasure expedition and it definitely caught her attention.

I can use whatever I earn from this mission to finally be with my family.

Her eyes teared up a bit as her fist slammed into the table, getting the attention of the nearby tavern customers. She can use the her share to help her mother and little sister, who were held captive by goblins in exchange of gold. She slowly approached the group.

Hey. I couldn’t help but overhear your conversations. Do you mind if a woodland elf joins your team? I am trained in both close and ranged combat. My companion Kupa, a young wolf, might also come in handy.

By the way, the name’s Katniss Everdream. I came from the forest woods not far south from hear.
