Reading the ability, the occultist gets access to the true name of 1 (or more) Outsiders with 3 HD or less, and then can hire those outsiders to do info gathering and minor tasks.
That makes sense, the part I'm not quite getting is since Outside contact implies that you have to use your own magic circle to do the summoning, does that mean an Occultist can never conjure up an Outsider that matches their alignment?
like a LG Occultist can never summon a Lantern Archon, or whatever the 3 HD angel is since the occultist cannot make Magic Circles against law or good.
this seems like an oversight, why wouldn't an Occultist want to be able to conjure an outsider that embodies their own personal morality?
so am I right? the only Occultist that can conjure any Outsider (barring Aeons which i don't think you can bind with a magic circle anyway) is a true neutral one?

So quick question, that my search fu hasn't answered.
but can a Ranger selected Humanoid (extraplanar), or Outsider (extraplanar) as subtypes for favoured enemy?
it sounds super cheesy(at least with outsiders, seeing as all but Native have it on the material plane), but I'm not seeing anywhere saying that it's not a valid subtype target.
other than the fact that it's not on the list of subtypes, but neither is Catfolk, or Kyton, or well any of the more obscure subtypes.

So I saw the super awesome Champion of Irori prestige class (I mean really? Whirlwind smite = awesome), but there was an Issue with it for Pathfinder, that one being that the Faiths of Balance book clearly states that Irori doesn't support paladins, the only Neutral god that supports Paladins is Abadar.
so my Question is: How can the Champions of Irori exist, if Irori doesn't actually have paladins?
are they paladins of other faiths that changed Faith to Irori and somehow Irori decided to foot the bill for the class features, when he doesn't usually, or is the Faiths of Balance book wrong?

I've searched the Messageboards for an hour or two so far, and haven't found an answer to my question, so for the Rules Forum, I ask:
When a Wizard Mutliclasses, do they still get the extra spell slot for their Arcane school?
the way I read it as yes, you get a bonus slot all the way to ninth at first level, you just can't actually power them, comes with the using two slots to prepare banned spells.
just wanted to make sure my reading was correct.
thank you for your time and responses.

so, I did a quick perusing of the messageboards and didn't quite come up with the answer to my question, so here it is:
when using shield master (treating the shield's enchancement bonus as it's weapon bonus)
SRD wrote: You do not suffer any penalties on attack rolls made with a shield while you are wielding another weapon. Add your shield’s enhancement bonus to attack and damage rolls made with the shield as if it were a weapon enhancement bonus. and you get a +1 Shield of Bashing (treated as two sizes larger for damage, and treated as a +1 weapon)
do the effects of bashing and shield master stack?
so is it a +1 weapon that does damage as if it were two sizes larger, or is it a +2 weapon when used to bash?
I'm thinking no, but I might as well ask the mighty Rules forum for opinions. (the two sizes larger to damage is good enough for a +1 enhancement cost)
thank you for your imput.

Okay, So I'm Joining an Existing game at level ten (it's more my last character died, but anyways), and I've decided I want to play a Paladin.
I can do all the numbers really easy, all the character sheet stuff is done, Paladins are easy to stat and skill.
my issue is the guy needs a Name, personality, and reason to be anywhere near the party (Cheliax in this case)
He's a Paladin of Arshea (Empyreal Lord of Freedom and Sexuality), so I decided he'd have a Capt. Jack harkness-esque approach to Sex, sexuality, and all that Jazz.
but Beyond that he's just mostly a Sword that gets around, and doesn't really care about with who.
stats if they help come up with some ideas.
STR: 16 (+2 Human, +2 leveling, +4 Belt)
Dex: 15 (+2 Gloves)
Con: 12
Int: 10
Wis: 7
Cha: 16
thanks for any suggestions in advance. Paladins really do bugger up my Character creation, I play Lawful, or good, never both, so he's gonna be tough.

couple questions about the crazy Synergy between these two Teamwork feats:
let's assume a pair of 7th level Human Inquisitors Of Sarenrae, weilding a single keen Scimitar each (cause it's easy enough to get)
now, for their feats we've got:
1st:Combat reflexes
Human: Combat Expertise
3rd: Gang Up (concidered Flanking if at least 2 people are adjacent to the same target)
4th (teamwork feat, inquisitor): Paired Opportunists (+4 to hit with AoO's when adjacent to someone with feat, when said person gets an AoO you get an AoO)
5th:i dunno, something like weapon focus Scimitar I guess.
6th:Outflank (when flanking with someone with feat, Flanking Bonus becomes +4, when you crit, they get an AoO)
7th: something else to have fun with /shrug, improved trip for increased Cheese?
what I'm seeing with this is, as long as you can get someone else to come smashy smashy with you, whenever you crit your friend get an AoO, meaning you get an AoO, (do they get an AoO because you got an AoO?), anyways.
what I'm after is: If you or they crit on the AoO (with a 15-20 crit range, it's quite possible) do you/they get a free AoO cause you/they crit?
in short: Will it look like a nice smoothie once the chain starts, or does the chain not take off?
I'm asking because me and a friend are thinking of playing a pair of Inquisitors of sarenrae (convienient example no?) with the Dervish Dance feat and as High as possible dex, for maximum death blender effect. (dex for Attack and Damage when weilding a scimitar one handed with nothing in the off hand) Solo tactics means our third doesn't really need to have any of the requisite feats for teamwork, but he doesn't need to be adjacent to us anyways.
thank you for your input.

Okay, we know that Animal Companions get Multiattack at level 9.
Normal Multiattack rules are fine, My issue is with the secondary effect on the Animal Companion's Version: The iterative attack with One natural Weapon.
now lets take something like a Wolf, who only has a Bite attack, al lthe way up to 9th level, His Bite is [Dice+1 1/2 Str+Misc modifiers] because he only has One Natural attack.
Now come level 9, he now has a Bite at Full BAB, and a second attack with that Bite at -5 BAB, does he still only count as having one Natural Attack (for Strength and a Half), or does he now have Two (One primary bite, and a secondary bite) meaning he'd have a Primary Bite of [Dice+Str+Misc] and a secondary bite as [Dice+1/2Str+Misc]
or is it just two [Dice+1 1/2 str+Misc] (like iterative attacks with a two handed weapon)
thank you for your input.

The Witch's Vision Hex seems kind of pointless to me, seeing as it doesn't have any reference to how it behaves, it can just as easily show the Recipient eating dinner at a table as it can show them stopping the greatest evil deed ever.
Can you specify a Time for the vision to view to up to a year away?
Like could i say "I want the vision to show me next Oathday, sometime around 6 pm" and get the Corresponding vision?
I mean, I'm taking it cause my Witch is a fortune teller, so of course he'd be able to give you visions of your future, it just makes sense, character wise, But he's also a Priest of Urgathoa (Gluttony aspect TBH, his overarching life goal is to taste the 'flesh' (plant matter counts too) of every creature that has any) So the vision would be tainted by that of course, but it seems that my GM can just turn around and say "you are eating some non-descript food sometime next week" and leave me incapable of providing a new Vision for that person until the end of the next week....
All in all, it seems like the least reliable form of Divination available to a character, yet it's 100% accurate.
So is it the Unlimited Wish of Divination spells, prone to cruel GMs and nasty twisting of words?
thank you for your input.

Okay, I understand that I lose access to casting 6th level spells if my primary casting stat is no longer 16 or higher, but do i still have the slots available to prepare lower level spells?
ie, lets say we have a Wizard (we'll call him Jhonny), and he's level 9 (5th level spells), and he currently has an Int score of 22.
all fine and dandy, he can cast up to fifth level spells, and has fifth level spell slots as a class feature.
now lets say he takes 8 points of Ability drain, putting his Int (effectively) at 14.
he can no longer cast 5th level spells, but can he use his 5th level spell slots for lets say, a second level spell?
effectively downranking the slot into a bonus second level spell slot.
yes i know DCs and stuff remain as if it was a Second level spell.
Thanks.

I understand that Point Blank shot effects Rays, that's all honky-dory.
The problem is with spells that Aren't rays, but use Ranged touch attack mechanics (say like touch spells, modified by metamagic reach), do you get the +1 to hit and Damage (if the spell deals damage) with those?
if so, what if the spell was Harm?
would you blast the target to 1 hp, and then deal another 1 damage for PBS, knocking them Disabled/Unconcious? or does the "can't go below one" negate PBS, unles you don't get them to 1, at which points it's (10*CL)+1.
thanks for your time.
