Male Human Oracle (Lunar 1)
![]() Kaldak has been within Brevoy's borders for a few months and has likely been based in Restov upon the first whispers of an expedition south. He would naturally get along quite well with Mawj and they may have pursued the charter together; as Mawj is a Tiefling, Kaldak would be sympathetic and would want to include him in the haven he hoped to create in the Stolen Lands. GM, could you create the IC thread? Even if its only a placeholder post. I just want to make a post to "dot" the thread and thus get it on my campaigns page. I run 4 play-by-posts and play in 9 so getting it all in my campaigns page really helps me. I'm reading everyone's backstories now to familiarise myself. ![]()
Male Human Oracle (Lunar 1)
![]() AK here, presenting my Oracle. I'm quite flexible when it comes to leadership roles; anything with Charisma is a good fit though. Background- Kaldak is an athletic, tall man of Ulfen descent who has seen 19 winters. The son of the chieftain of his tribe, great expectations have been placed upon him and requests from his family via magical Sending weigh upon him greatly. He seeks to create a haven for his shunned tribe; a kingdom where the dark things of the night, outcasts and those shunned by "civilisation" can find themselves welcome and enjoy the benefits of grouping together. Having heard of an expedition into the "Stolen Lands", Kaldak used all of his formidable powers of persuasion to ensure he was among those granted a charter. Kaldak's tribe has an ancient lineage, dating back to some of the first Lycanthropes to ever grace the north of Avistan with their presence. The tribe numbers a little over a thousand souls and are infamous for two things: claiming forest territory as their own until driven off by a larger force... and a penchant for the moon, a pack mentality and a strange affinity with wolves and other moon-touched animals; especially Lycanthropes. The Ul'daar tribe venerate wolves and often fight alongside them in battle. In fact... it was said that in days of yore, almost the entire tribe could transform themselves into wolves themselves; blessed by the Demon Lord Jezelda, the mistress of the Hungry Moon. Today, the gifts of the moon (Lycanthropy) are becoming rarer and rarer with each generation- Kaldak's father, a powerful shaman, is one of the last full Lycanthropes in the tribe (his mother passed away two winters ago while the tribe was driven east into Brevoy). Kaldak himself was a strange anomaly; rather than being born a natural Lycanthrope he bore the body of a man and the toothy maw of a Wolf. He speaks with a speech impediment as a result, but can tear the throat out of an enemy warrior as well as any of the pack's Wolves. This was only the least of the Mistress of the Hungry Moon's gifts; Kaldak displayed an unusual affinity with Wolves far beyond even the Ul'daar tribe; he is able to have a Wolf serve him without question and fight to the death for him and his. Divine power flowed through him and though he had as yet learnt to channel very little of it, his potential was quite clear. Despite quite poor agility, he seemed to have a preternatural sense of where his opponents would strike and begin to sway aside before the blow was even struck, akin to a Wolf's cunning instinct and reflexes. Savage and charismatic, his force of personality, gravitas and presence are formidable to behold. Kaldak has a strong pack mentality and a clear sense of order and hierarchy, enforced by strength and power, is important to him. He is himself, strong and capable, able to fight with both tooth and blade as well as inflict hideous wounds born of negative energy. Despite his personal growth in his teenage years, however, the Ul'daar tribe is in decline. Kaldak's father currently has the tribe inhabiting a forest in south-east Brevoy; for now they are safe but once Brevoy becomes aware of their presence, trouble was likely to follow. It always did. Kaldak has been sent forth in order to secure a home for the Ul'daar to finally set up permanent residence after centuries of wandering and being driven out of various nations. |
