Hello,
Please cancel my subscription. Thanks in advance.

My players all like politics in their game. They dislike too many factions. For my group keeping the seven noble houses of Brevoy straight would be an unpleasant task. Not fun. That said, they all love good characters whether that’s Game of Thrones or Conan. Keeping the balance between politics and people is key for me and my group.

Names are easy to forget, but a person can be memorable. I want to give NPCs characteristics that my players find interesting and seek to know more about. This can in turn lead them towards understanding that person’s goals, connections and political aspirations. I can use this one person to introduce a ‘faction’, without having to say, “This guy is a Garess noble.”

Perhaps an example.

Kestren has drawn quite a bit of the PCs attentions. I decided to run him as an arrogant seeming jerk. He was shamed by the exile forced upon him and while he sold his sword he never gave up an ingrained sense of superiority his noble birth afforded him.

I wasn’t sure how my group would take him, but the party face Cordimir has taken to keeping Kestren in the loop. Steadily, the group has taken to reporting their findings to Kestren. They keep him in the loop and see that they can trust him. They bring him bandits that have surrendered and sworn oaths to make an honest living in Kingsford (the small town starting around Oleg’s). They have claimed rewards from him for the heads of bandits. They have begun to trust him so much that when they found Falgrim near the bandit camp the group just handed him over to Kestren. No questions. This trust has paid off with some discussion of who was paying to station him in the Greenbelt. Introductions may follow.

This is how I plan to use this trust.

In my campaign, the Swordords are divided about what to do about the minor noble houses that owed their loyalty to house Rogarvia. There is a spectrum of ideas about how to proceed. There are some that would provoke outright war (by colonizing an area to the south of Brevoy in the Greenbelt for example). Some would simply forgive past transgressions and move towards reconciliation by taking advantage of the weakened position of these minor houses and move to empower themselves with other noble house (though not likely Surtova).

The problem I have always faced in running a game is bridging these two worlds. Keeping the political intrigue interesting and grand, and at the same time keeping the story personal.

This is where I bring Kestren into play. He is hired by a Swordlord named Vassari. The oldest member of the council of blades, Vassari has grand plans to avenge himself on the Issian dogs that have taken far too much from the Rostland plain. He is spearheading the initiative to colonize the Greenbelt in the name of the swordlords in the hopes that it will provoke the Issians into making a faulty first step or even better provide a new loyal ally that will further strengthen their position in southern Brevoy.

Kestren will bring the news from Restov that grants the PCs their new Barony. He will bring more support from Restov both in the form of settlers and soldiers. This involvement does not go unnoticed by those that move against the swordlords.

Thanks for reading and thanks to those whose ideas I have stolen from these boards.

I will have to source the base set locally as shipping is too much for me.

Thanks!

Hello Paizo Customer Service people.

I seem to have caused some grief with my shenanigans, adding to and holding my May order. I have had several emails regarding the proposed contents of this order, but no shipping confirmation yet. I have gotten a shipping notice for my Flip Mat pack (order 3091476). I was thinking this was supposed to ship with my June Sub. Did I not complete the order appropriately?

I would like to ensure that all of my pre-orders are set to ship with subs rather than on their own.

I also hope that my May/June/Battles package will ship today. It may not be possible, but I will hope.

Thanks for your kind attention!

It appears that my shipping charge is strangely small. 17.00 is absurd.

Please tell me this is true (it seems too good to be).

Just bought GM's Miscellany: Tribes Most Foul. The PDF is not personalizing. Couple other PDFs bought recently are working fine. Anything to be done about this?

WOW. Just Wow. I loved the unpainted Baphomet, now I'm really impressed. The levels of detail is awe inspiring and I hope the production figures capture the look and detail. Is that head piece transparent plastic?

Fantastic minotaur. Surpasses the H&M one - which I liked.

Was curious as to how Hepzamirah would look. Very intimidating, looks to be on the larger end of large.

Minagho is the only one I'm a bit out on. I'm glad the horns are on the side of the head and not coming out of the eye sockets.

The two cultists are awesome and I'd be glad to get them in big numbers. The detail is great and I'm so glad we get both demon lords followers rather than just a generic cultist. I hope the Baphomet glaive isn't too flimsy, nothing worse than a cultist with floppy glaive syndrome.

As for next set - does this mean we'll see some WWII earth minis - soldiers and the like?

Also while I like the idea of a garg white, and it compliments the enc pack nicely to fill out nearly all the sizes, are we going to see non-dragon incentives - I know we have the Rune Giant and Deskari but I really hanging out for some other great unique paizo gargantuans - you have so many. Mind you I suppose we only have the black and red to go among the classic chromatics.

Very interesting. Hopefully this is just the beginning of huge encounter packs.

Pictures would be great.

I am looking for any references to the setup of the church of Iomedae in an urban setting.

At the moment I have:

- Faiths of Purity
- The Inner Sea World Guide
- Knights of the Inner Sea
- Paths of Prestige

Specifically looking for ideas about how the church would be organized in a city.

I have sketched so far:

- Organized by circles (ie 1st, 2nd, 3rd Sword Knight of the city)
- Connection to city guard, some knights might participate in bringing evil to justice and protecting against undead and evil outsiders in the city.
- PrCs available could include Holy Vindicator or Knight of Ozem.

Any suggestions?

Hello,

Just curious about the shipping on this order. Currently the system has 2 packages going by standard mail. Would the amount be much different for one priority package based on the weight of the contents?

Thanks.

Hello,

I am curious about the status of this order. It has been pending a few days now and it is a PDF only order.

If it has to do with my card on file, I have deleted it and replaced it with the new expiry date. I hope you can retry it and this will clear up the problem.

Thank you.

I have recently been reminiscing about the good old days. You know: “things were so much better when… ”

So I thought I would take stock of where I have been.

It all started when I walked into a shop called ‘Games People Play’. It was a mall game store. The clerk at the time was painting a lead griffon. I spotted the latest RPG on the shelf and asked my dad, please?

It wasn’t until Christmas later that year that I got the Player’s guide and DMG: AD&D 2nd ed. (the 10th printing from 1993). The monster manual came later. At the time I loved pouring over the books and making dungeon encounter tables, complete with maps and flavour text. I killed many of my friend’s characters with relish. We all had a great time.

I loved looking at the inner front cover at all the campaign worlds available at the time. I had no cash for these things, but I loved the idea of Al-Qadim, Dark Sun, and Greyhawk. My parents bought the group pizza while we explored our own versions of these worlds. I’m sure they were happy to have us explore these imaginary worlds rather than some parts of this real world…

Some time in high school my gaming lapsed until I later met some friends in university that started my obsession up again. D&D 3.0 was the thing. We would play until 5:30am and I would walk home with the shining rays of the sun rising in the east. These friends had been at this much longer than I. They had a book shelf full of 1st ed books, Rollmaster, Westend games stuff, GURPS, Rifts, etc.

The GM in the group had a home brew campaign going. It lasted 5 years. Epic stuff. 1st level into the mid 20s. We eventually soured on 3.5 after years of play. We had some issues with how the system was organized, but mainly I think there was some nostalgia for that time when RPGs were new and anything you tried was awesome. So we converted the campaign to Rollmaster. The system this group had cut their teeth on. It was great for a while. We eventually tired of fantasy Rollmaster then moved on to Cyberspace.

Here we had the single greatest session I can remember. Sometimes you just get to that magic place. Everything was right. It ended in a TPK, but it was great. We still talk about that session.

The next campaign was set using the Saga edition Star wars rules. It got the group back into D20 and actually had us thinking good things about our 3.5 days.

So here I am, with all these games in our history, turning to Pathfinder for our groups next phase in our collective story. I have started a new campaign. Seriously running for the first time since grade school, I still feel compelled to create dungeon encounter tables and the like.

Who knows where things will lead from here.

Could you please cancel - Guide to Darkmoon Vale. I obtained a copy from my friendly local game store...

Thank you.

I thought I would create a new thread re: ORDER #S 2141879 AND 2143336

The packages have yet to arrive and am hoping the books they contained were returned...

Is there any chance of an update?

I have checked with Canada post and they have no record of packages in customs waiting for me.

Any other suggestions?

I have several items in my side cart at the moment.

Is it pssible to have them all ship ASAP?

I don't want many little packages. Just one big one... If that is possible.

Also I have ordered the DCC RPG. Could I upgrade this to the limited edition?

To be clear, i would be happy to have my side cart ship as a single pack or with the next subscription shipment.

Should I select 'ship as soon as possible'?

Thanks for the help!

A question about this order. Why is it not shipping with the other items I added to my side cart?

I am suprised the two items in it are shipping this way. I had intended to have the items ship with my monthly subscription.

Sorry if that's my bad, but can it be fixed?

Thanks.

I have a quick question about these two orders.

I these orders state 11 business days to arrive. Now I understand that international orders can be held at the boarder... but I am wondering what happens if they don't arrive?

I had placed another order 2156049 that also had the same quoted range of time (up to 11 days). It was also shipped a week later than the others.

I am now enjoying the contents... very much.

Just wondering.

Thanks.
