Walking to the school yard, Koji looks around and smiles a little.

"My school yard was not so different. Makes me wonder if all cultures have a similar way to run off the energy of youth..."

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Koji doesn't notice the sheet of paper until Yuan Wu picks it up.

"Interesting. So this tree is where the students meet to probably tell secrets. I had something similar...but we would bury small items into the ground near the tree for our friends to find."

Interesting fact...that when I was in 1st grade...there was a tree we would actually bury small items (GI Joe's, Lego mini's, marbles, Hot Wheels)...and then tell our friends to go find them. It was a simple but fun game....

It sure did....as you compare your initial and your reroll for which is better and then add the +5.

"Rerolls and Rolling Twice

Some abilities allow you to reroll a failed die roll—usually an attack roll, a saving throw, or a skill check. Unless an ability says otherwise, you must decide to use a reroll as soon as you know the result of your first roll but before the GM tells you the outcome or you declare the use of any other ability. You use your rerolled result only if it is better than your original result. There are also abilities that allow you to make two rolls for a specific die roll and take the better of the two results. These abilities require you to decide to roll twice prior to the die roll. Some abilities allow you to force a foe to roll twice and take the worse of the two results. These abilities also must be announced prior to a die roll being made. In most cases, once an ability to either reroll or roll twice (or force a foe to roll twice) has been applied, no other similar ability can be applied to that same specific die roll. There are exceptions, however. If one character forces a foe to roll twice and take the worse result, that enemy can still apply the ability to roll twice and take the better result. The reverse is also possible—countering the advantage of rolling twice by forcing a foe to roll twice with a worse result. In both cases, the two abilities negate one other, resulting in a single die roll being made. That die roll cannot then benefit from an ability that would allow a reroll."

If we want to keep Croaker in this (and honestly, I do)...let's find a lvl 7-10 that most (or all) of us haven't played maybe.

I have both a Nova replay, a few spots on a sheet from Gencon a few years ago...and depending on the character a few Second Seeker Jadnura faction reruns I can use. So if we go to 1-29, I can find a way to replay for credit.

Azzrim gets the air bubble and smiles....he doesn't have to worry about finishing the vents then.

Seeing on his HUD that the walls are closing in, he moves to the other one and activates his descent thrusters--just to hopefully help a bit more with pushing against the wall--while bracing against a wall and pushing.

The first oh....2 games the witchwarper could only talk to 1 character--who knew elvish. But it was still fun. As mentioned my wife loves lingustics..so she literally put words like 'computers' 'techomancers' and such as gobbly g&$@ she had ready..so when she talked to the other elvish speaker it was sometimes hard to talk to her.

I didn't allow SFS equipment and such into the game...even 'ight' SFS armor would be better than the best platemail. Same with guns. The witchwarper got a repeating hand crossbow real quick and uses that.

As others seem to walk--or pop--in, Ivory's nose and ears twitch a little....first the slight smell of ozone, the feel of displaced air, and the waft of the smell both parchment, and of some of the harsher spices that some races use hits her nose. The sound coming from that corner allows Ivory to mentally draw a picture of a squat figure with a gun. After he introduces himself she nods in acknowledgement.

Next the door opens, and the smell of the sea with the hint of the smells of the nightlife--perfume, cologne and even a bit of alcohol. The sound of a large creature comes in from the door. The sound coming from the large creature definitely gives Ivory a mental picture of a large walrus type creature--a Morlamaw Ivory mentally thinks as she politely nods to the newcomer.

The third one in definitely doesn't have the same size profile of the Morlawmaw, it actually seems to be the size of a halfling--whom Ivory is familiar with. The smells she gets definitely seems to be the smell of a reptilian lizard, mixed with the smell of plastic, the hint of ozone and a very faint hint of oil and grease...definitely a person who tinkers with electronics and some mechanical items. Almost smells similar to a Dragonkin she knows....but mini-sized.....

=========================

When Saratur comes up and starts to puts a hand/flipper on her shoulder, the little squox on her lap scampers into a protective case built into her armor, pulls the top down and seals it.

"The new one definitely has an unique profile, I will say. You do too....were you at a night-club recently? I definitely smell the distinct smell of perfumes on you..and maybe a little alcohol."

Turning her face towards the small lizard (since most races seem to use visual clues when determining where the point of interest/discussion is being directed to.

"As Saratur says, I am Ivory...at least that is my nickname since most non vlaka races hate to use the growl/howling language of the my people. Drek, you have the sense about you as a person who is at home in a comfy computer chair, tinkering with a piece of electronics, or maybe even installing said items into a vehicle or ship? Especially since you seem to want to keep this experimental model we are supposed to test fly for UIE?"

Hello all.

Thank you again CanisDirus for running these 2 bounties. I am interested in seeing what will happen in both.

For the characters...umm...depending on timing, this is what I might play.

I will have to work up my first 7001 for PF2.....if I can work it, it will likely be an inventor or an alchemist.

For SFS....probably I will bring:

Ivrokizolink (her name in traditional vlaka, which means Karmonic Beacon). Usually goes by Ivory for short. Vlaka (blind) Solarian Ace Pilot. Yes...she flies ships even blind. I have a data jack she uses to plug into the ship's sensors so she can fly. She also has a seeing-eye Squox to help when her senses are having issues. It depends on when the SFS game starts..before Paizocon I might bring somebody else (I want her a game there), if after Paizocon, I definitely will bring her

Chronicle looks great.

On your running.

All in all great. Yeah, I noticed the lack of reach in the space cuttle fish....but I sometimes do that purposely so that ranged characters can't get away with a guarded step...so figured you might have done similar.

On the things like the trap, and the interesting placement and actions of the opposing groups...hey....at this time if you haven't played Bacon Code yet...you are a rare bird. The idea for repeatables are to make them able to be replayed, and hopefully enjoyed. The Bacon Code is one that is not the easiest to do that...so making creative uses of the elements and moving them works. As long as the spirit of the game is not changed...or the stat blocks truly modified. I usually say work with what they give you. Seen a GM move the web grenade off the bear onto the captain, and give the bear one of the captains frag grenades....that really isn't a modification...and it honestly did little except mire a couple of players for a round, so I didn't call the GM on it until after the game.
So where encounters happens, and how each one chains off another is fine. Adding new equipment (or powers, or spells) is frowned on and shouldn't be done....moving equipment around is kinda a grey zone. Since the GM swapped 1 grenade with each baddy I was fine with it. I saw it like PC's swapping guns during a game.

Doing the 'fog of war' the way you did works well for PBP....and is useful even if everybody knows what the room looks like.

All in all a good game, with good players. And yeah, sometimes it is hard for all of us to keep focused on the PBP with all the craziness in the world...but we did well.

Hope to see you all on the virtual table sometime again soon.

Once Joe carefully packs the violin back into the case, and puts the other items she found in a nice little pile, she wanders to the bridge.

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27

Looking at the captain chair, she remembers back to one of the horrible Vesk romance novels she read while in the Vesk navy. Apparently the enemy--the evil Hoomans--had cleverly hidden an item in the captains chair. Apparently the Hoomans liked little buttons installed on the bottom of the captains armrest. Joe looks under--and low and behold--finds a small button. Depressing it, she senses a vibration in the chair.

"Umm...guys. I don't know if they really told us EXACTLY what the relic is, but if I had to guess...a cleverly hidden panel in the captains chair would likely be where it might be....though this weird sphere almost the size of Blinky's head might be able to be considered one....SHESH....I think we need Blinky to get it out...it is HEAVY."

Joe tries her best to get it out of the storage space.....but gives up and waits for Blinky.

Joe sees Ayoka attempt to get herself back into the fight...and then put down like a skitterwhelp vs a stridermancer....quietly she prays, "Hope you can stabilize and stay unconscious Ayoka......these people are bad people."

I.e. Ayoka, hopefully you have that 1 RP left after stabilizing...don't use it to get up again. If I have a free moment--and the guards are not near you, I will shoot you with one of the mk2 serums

Realizing that maybe the guards will flee if the gnome drops....Joe turns her full attention--and gun--towards the gnome.

Full attack, nowhere in the Medication Mastery or Biohack does it say you can't add one to each attack....so sedative for the gnome! (I.e. extra 1d4 damage each attack!)

Gotcha...will go for the gnome with my awesome 1d6+1 damage.....sigh.

The problem I think we are having is we are all level 3....and 5 players. Buddy is likely the most damage output character we have. Because of that we basically tapped out out almost all of our 'power' abilities earlier fight (the Fey fight was brutal....the 2 mercs was most annoying).

I know that in late season 3 (and considering I just ran 4-01), and season 4. I think the Powers That Be decided to make certain that a low tier combat wasn't a walk in the park if there was a mix of low and high (example, 3 lvl 3's, a 1 lvl 4 and 2 lvl 5 is 3.8 APL, so play down). That example is probably more what they are prepping these fights for. I know that the level 1's (and one lvl 2) I ran in 4-01 almost didn't make it....I think EVERYBODY had most of their RP gone (most had zero, a few had 1-2) and was walking wounded by the time the last encounter happened.

With us losing Mujina....that hurts the skitterforce because of the number of players in addition to all of us being lvl 5.

This might be one that the skitterforce should attack the gnome...and hope that makes the merc's willing to flee because they won't get paid?
Also...we probably should split up, and almost move so we don't get full attacked (the -4 to those two attacks are almost certain to hit our wonderful AC's....sigh).

And let us all pray to the RNG gods....we have had bad rolls lately....maybe something will turn it around.

Buddy, I just noticed (sorry, brain was mostly focused on Paizocon all last week and until now), but why are you not getting your level in damage with the weapon for your weapon specialization?

Joe sees the one she was keeping immobile die, so pushing the release she lets it fall.

The other fey apparently didn't like Joe's version of catch and release, but the fey's claws are no match for her armor.

Culture: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

"Buddy, you know that some people might think we look funny....6 arm, 2 leg balls of fur and all.....and then you have creatures like the formian and even the comtemplative. We are all unique creatures, and that is what I love about the Starfinder Society. We welcome all creatures, big, small or even six arms with multicolored fur. And while I hear some creatures consider Ghorans tasty, I would never want to eat another sentient race. We should all know that from when we met the Dromadas."

Shrugging a little Joe continues with a little history lesson, " What I was able to piece together on the way here is that Kinwoods are actually sentient trees, or at least plants resembling trees and such. And that it is pretty common knowledge that they were actually hibernating or sleeping until the ghorans arrived on this planet....and that somehow caused the kinwoods to awaken. Pretty amazing. With that, the Ghorans and a couple of other races has used the kinwoods to build their settlements around, inside or even on top of the kinwood trees. Almost a true symbosis between the ghorans and the kinwoods. It is speculated that almost all of the forests here on Ghorus Prime are either completely or mostly comprised of kinwoods, with a few other non-native species of trees being added...my guess is for their nuts, berries and other renewable resources. Of course this all comes from Universal Geographic, set 'Into the Veskarium: NEARSPACE!', Volume 2. I highly recommend the whole set of 18, along with the original 'Into the Veskarium: Vesk 1 to 8'. Though I think most of us grew up in the Veskarium, and learned about our solar system in primary school...."

Yea! I think I have finally gotten enough relaxation to start to get back into Joe's mindset/talking.... Also...if you don't want to take my longer rambling, you all can look at the DC 10 and DC 15 spoilers.

Shifty,

My chronicle was correct, but the reporting seemed to have a slight issue.....you reported it on 56565-11, not 56565-711....and while William 'the Redblade' (my pirate character) would LOVE to have Sci-Fi weapons and armor back in PF days....it might break the game a little ;-)

Thinking to her allies she says ""If this works, get at close as you can to to Bogdin...I think we need to pacify him and his goons...so we can get the rest out."

Smoky quickly looks around, and tries to find some kind of pole....either one of those stupid poles they use with rope to form lines or something. Barring that she will grab a stool.

She walks over to the conga line, holding her improvised Limbo pole about hip level to most medium humanoids, and keeps it level. She mentally broadcasts to all people near her (60 ft), "HOW LOW CAN YOU GO!"

And did that for you Oz

Smoky will just cause as much a distraction as a dancing bear can cause. Though she does attempt to get people to work on such things as break dancing, and if that fails, she will definitely want to set up a Castrovelian Conga Line--like a normal Conga line, but with more eccentric dancing.

That way usually works. It is pretty much what I do IRL/Discord. I do agree that in PbP I don't like to see 1 post of wall of text unless it is necessary (Example....Vehicle combat in a game we are in Farol). It is best I think to at least set the stage, and let the PC's banter until dropping the next post that slightly continues the scenario.

Though I am still in the mentality of 1 or 2 posts a day per player, and maybe 1-2 for GM (to continue the narrative)...though banter and rule explaining should likely be extra....

Just a heads up....if this doesn't wrap up by the end of April...I might have to take a week hiatus (will be doing that for this and Shifty's game(s))....going to take an actual vacation to get a few more spoons for my sanity....

Before they get to the club, Smoky looks at the othe three.

"So what is the plan? I am assuming that because of my size and....well distinctive look I will be the distraction?" She says, as she waves at the designer power suit she found. Black, with glittering sequins on it, the highly raised shoulder pads making the outfit even more striking. The designer Raymond Shades on her eyes, and her grey/brown fur tips artfully (and temporarily) died blue and yellow.

Link of power suit (well..the top half of it....Smoky won't be in a dress), minus the sequins....sigh.
Another scenario got me to think Smoky would look GOOD in sequins

Joe gasps when Buddy shows her the picture". "I knew there was an uplifted bear on the roster...I have met Dr. Dov Delano at one of the medical meetings that was hosted by Dr. William Kuong...but I didn't know there was a second....oh how interesting...it seems she is a genetic modification of a black bear...the greying of the fur is not normally represented all over on an older black--and very rarely seen on a brown...that is likely the only way that she could have grey-brown fur. And look at that....she seems to be some kind of naturalist, the symbol of the Society sitting next to the Xenowardens. You know, I hear that the Xenowardens are somewhat classified as eco-terrorists...but I never have seen that in the ones I have met. I mean...they do want to protect the environment of all planets, and sometimes that gets them into hot water--sometimes literally. But I have never seen them actually go to war."

Joe smiles as she gets into the hover-truck. She never thought that a job for the society would lead her to get into a 18 hover-plate truck.....
