Jeyvara excuses herself once the guard arrives. Being around the guard made her far too nervous and brought back some frustrating memories she'd rather not relive. She was on the wrong end of one too many accusatory nobles suggesting that her latest find either was rightfully theirs through some contrived web of family claims or that she simply stole the treasure directly from them for her to want to get wrapped in the discussion.

Instead, she retakes her seat near the gnome and apologizes for leaving so suddenly, though she doubts he even noticed with how engrossed he was by his reading. "So why don't you tell me more about this secret of yours? It doesn't do me any good to help you if your reward is merely speculation or rumor, after all."

Jeyvara straightens up when it appears the halfling boy will be fine. She studies him for a second, finding the teen's story fairly believable considering the boy's background, even if their method of reclaiming their money was extreme.

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26

Her attention then turns to the two teenagers, studying them briefly. "Teenagers...nothing but trouble. Wait. What am I saying?! Gods...I sound like my mother!

"Even if the boy did take your money, that doesn't give you the right to throw him through a window. Can you even prove he stole from you?"

Jeyvara tilts her head slightly to the side and raises an eyebrow at the gnome. "Brave and foolish? What's that-" Jeyvara gasps and jumps in her seat at the sudden interruption of the shattering glass, her hand reflexively moving toward her dagger.

She curiously peers over at the object in the floor, her mouth falling open in horror when she realizes it's a halfling child. She joins the other patrons gathered around the halfling, crouching down next to him with concern. She looks toward the child, the Varisian woman and her friend, and then toward the broken window. Her eyes scan the scene outside briefly, hoping to get a glimpse of whoever did this before turning her attention back to the child. "Are you alright?"

Knowledge(Engineering): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

Jeyvara stares blankly at the gnome as he rambles on and on about golems. She attempts to interrupt the gnome several times throughout his rambling speech but finds herself unable to get a word in as the gnome excitedly continues. When he finally stops, Jeyvara hesitates for several seconds, not entirely sure if the gnome was finished speaking or if his voice had simply given out.

Knowledge(Local): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

"So our reward for returning your business is your secrets? That seems a bit unfair don't you think? Guaranteed wealth for you in exchange for danger and possible wealth for us? Adventurers don't work for promises, you know."

Jeyvara glanced over at the other two women at the table, not completely sure why she was throwing her lot in with two strangers. Still, she needed money somehow and she never could resist a secret...especially when that secret involved treasure.

Gah! See dice? This is why we can't be friends.

Jeyvara takes a seat halfway through the gnome's long-winded response. Just once I would like to meet a gnome that gets to the point. She finds herself tempted to correct his assumption that she was ignorant in the matters of engineering and architecture but given his obvious passion on the subject she decided against stirring up that beehive.

The mention of long lost treasure and ancient secrets certainly gains her attention, however. "I assume you're talking about one of the old giant ruins in the area? But that's beside the point for now..." She pauses, leaning back in her chair and studying the gnome. "I find myself wondering what sort of research lands you in your current situation."

Doing a sense motive for whatever his response may be.

Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 1

Well...that's a surprisingly appropriate roll considering my character's personality. =P

Jeyvara looks blankly at her suddenly very empty table and sighs to herself. They're awfully interested in chasing after adventure..." She spends several moments sitting at the table by herself, collecting her thoughts, before grabbing her drink and following the other two women.

Jeyvara approaches the table and stands behind the gnome, sipping at her drink and trying to peek at the book while the orcish woman questions him.

Jeyvara gives a polite smile to the other half-elf as she takes a seat at the table. "Explorer? I suppose that's accurate enough. As for ruins..." Jeyvara trails off, hesitating at the thought of sharing rumors of treasure with another again. Luckily for her, the owner of the establishment arrives at their table just in time. Jeyvara turns her attention to the large man when he speaks and does her best to block out the drunk that had taken to singing.

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24

Jeyvara returns the serving girl's hug and smiles. "Thank you. Your hospitality is very much appreciated." Seeing that the tavern seems to be getting much busier, Jeyvara will leave the girl to her work and scan over the room for a place to sit.

Her attention is first drawn to the area near the pirate looking fellow and his two new acquaintances. "Well, at least there will be plenty of entertainment if I grow tired of the halfling's performance."

The behavior of the man that had bumped into the pirate's table was strange enough to pique her curiosity. "What a strange man. Shoanti perhaps? Hmm...no. Even they have better social graces than that man."

She smiles a bit to herself as she continues looking about the common room, her gaze eventually resting on the two women that seem to have their eyes affixed to the previous group. "They seem normal enough I suppose. And they look like the traveling sort...maybe they'll have some stories to share."

Jeyvara happily makes her way over to the half-orc and half-elf, overhearing the remarks of the two men as she walks across the common room. She casts a curious glance at the Varisian woman they spoke of; a glance that eventually comes to hide a hint of anger as her thoughts drift toward her Varisian ex-partner.

Jeyvara approaches the two women and gestures toward an empty chair. "Mind if I join you? Just waiting on my dinner and I could use some company to pass the time."

So many posts to catch up to =P

Jeyvara finds herself stretching as she makes her way down the staircase toward the common room. Being cooped up for so long had left the young half-elf restless and she felt the need to get out and relax before moving on in the morning.

She recognizes the woman that takes the orders and makes her way over to her with a smile. "I think I'd like to enjoy dinner out here for a change. What's on the menu?"

After the woman responds, Jeyvara leans in a bit closer and speaks in a hushed tone, "Don't suppose you have any strong drinks in this place? I could definitely use one after everything that's happened lately."

Hey, all. Just checking in. I'm pretty sure I already have everything in the alias done. I'll get the other things you asked for sent to you as soon as I can.

The drawback is fine, though I'd prefer it be flavored as more of a magical curse or something from some item she picked up when she was first starting out as sort of a "rookie mistake". More roleplaying potential than just "I'm sick". Gives her something else to work toward and gives her another reason to be so invested in knowledge and spellcraft.

Geez. Where did all these rogues and bards come from? Where were you guys in every other game I've applied for? =P

I think I have everything you asked for finished. Background and crunch are done and in the profile. All that's left for me to add are a few finishing touches for my own amusement.

Basically, she's a treasure hunter but she's more interested in knowledge and historically significant stuff instead of riches. She started off small in Taldor but grew frustrated when the people she worked for kept giving her tasks she felt were beneath her. She struck out on her own toward the Thassilonian ruins in Varisia but was eventually stabbed in the back by her partner. She survived and has taken up residence in Turtle's Parlor while she recovers and replaces the things taken from her.

Dotting this with this character...no where near done yet but it's a neat idea I've had bouncing around for awhile. Plan on focusing on knowledge, rogue-y stuff, and general adventuring skills so hopefully I'm not stepping on your spy's toes too much.

And to answer #2 and #3...I'm in two games at the moment. Once a day is perfectly fine with me, I usually check the boards once a day anyway. Realistically, I'd say 10-12 posts a week is probably the absolute maximum I could do on a regular basis.
