![]() Jenael's personality: Jenael's pesonality, which flavors how she's RP'd is one of peace and calm. This can make her come across as naive at times, since she tries to give any creature the benefit of the doubt, and believes that most can be forgiven, and redeemed. But her optimism can be deceiving. If a being proves that they are beyond redemption, her fury can be remarkable, and she will see that truly evil beings are given no quarter.
As an Arcanist and a scholar, she takes a moment, usually, to weigh the facts before making a decision, but once the decision is made, actions to bring about that decision are usually swift, and generally for the greater good. She also realizes that she has been gifted with abilities both born, and earned through study, that set her apart from many others, but also realizes that those abilities come with an onus. She needs to use those abilities to help others, who might not otherwise be able to help themselves. Whether that takes the form of crusading against evil, or simply using her magic to help repair a person's home, she believes that her gifts are meant to be shared, not hoarded away or used to lord over people. In personal interaction, Jenael can come off as aloof or disaffected, but cares deeply about those close to her, and will fight fiercely should any of them be harmed or threatened. She has trouble getting close to anyone, especially given that she never knew her true parents, and grew up in fosterage, where "brothers and sisters" were transient. Also, the suspicion that she is long lived makes her hesitant to form close bonds with anyone that is not. Once beyond that initial hesitation though, she is a warm person, with a quick wit.

background: Jenael Autumnhorn is touched by her parents forays into the Worldwound. That is easy to see. But not touched in the way that people would expect. If she were born with horns and hooves, perhaps a tail, nobody would be surprised. After all, her parents took on the most dangerous missions into the Worldwound, and all those infernal energies must have effected the couple in some way. The unborn child may have been in the womb for a few, before her parents realized the mother was pregnant. No, the surprise comes from the fact that Jenael was born with a runic butterfly birthmark, almost resembling a tattoo more than a birthmark, directly over her heart. The mark, often referred to as "Desna's Kiss" is not the only thing remarking her celestially touched blood. Jenael's hair is the black velvet of a starless night, but in dim light or darkness, pinpoints of light shine through, often resembling the starscape. Her dark blue eyes display her touched bloodline too. At night, in the dark, when they reflect light, they reflect the phase of the moon briefly. Jenael's life was not always blessed though. She was orphaned at little older than a month. Her parents went on another desperate mission for the crusades, and disappeared. Nobody has been able to find a trace of them for 22 years. Jenael, raised by caretakers close to the crusaders, knows of their sacrifice, and knows in her heart that they are gone, but still used their disappearance to fuel her thirst for knowledge and magic, in order to divine where they are, or at the very least the knowledge that their souls rest at peace somewhere. This thirst for knowledge made her a scholar on things arcane, and other planed, and lead her to the knowledge that the creature that caused her parents disappearance and probable demise still lives somewhere in the Worldwound, or beyond it in the Abyss. For this reason, she studied everything she could regarding magic in Kenabres, and seeks out any Wizard or Sorcerer that joins the crusades. Someday she'll come to power that will allow her to find that fiend, and lay to rest the memories of her parents...
