My question is when do all these occur? Also if a spell or ability states that it's at the beginning of a turn in what order to you do them in?

I have a character that just gained Fast Healing 5; with another ability I can add half my Constitution bonus to this. If I was taking Con damage at the start of my turn...do I get the Fast Healing with my normal Con first or take the Con damage THEN the Fast Healing with the reduced bonus?

I'm below 0 and 1 away from dying and not Stabilized. Do I roll for Stabilizing and if I miss it take the the -1 first and die....or do I get Fast Healing first and stabilize? If I was suffering from Bleed damage...do I take the Bleed damage first and die...or the Fast Healing first and negate the damage before it happens?

I am guessing that I am missing a ton of different types of damage that can happen....I know these are rare edge cases, but I am at the edge so I was just wondering if this is addressed anywhere as I cannot find it and the topics i found didn't give any good answers...

I like to keep an electronic back up of all my characters on my computer and tablet.

To do this I use Mod Necros character sheet which I can fill in with the relevant characters information and re-save.

One these characters just gained a Mythic Level.

Are their any Fill-able base character sheet pdfs for Mythic Characters?

I have an idea for a new build and believe that this item exists but can't remember the name of it.

Two chests who share the same content space regardless of the distance between them. You can keep one of the chests at home; then take the other on the road. If you put an item in either of the chests, it can be accessed in both.

I'm planning on building a Wizard Item creation specialist as my back up character and want to invest in a 'magic shop'. Taking commissions and creating items for adventurer's in my down time. Facsimile's kept at the shop and the real items kept on my person or in an extra dimensional space such as with the Secret Chest spell. Requests (by exchanging notes) and delivery handled through the chest.

Did this item only exist in 3.5? Or is it in Pathfinder? Or did I dream it up? Is there a better way?

In my group I'm the one who likes to tinker with different builds. Of course over the years a pattern has emerged. There are some things that every single one of these characters seems to have either through items or build...

Here is my list of essentials that I strive to build into every character:

Optimized for a specific combat role and have ranged weapons (front-line fighter, ranged combatant, Blaster, Healer, Buffer)
Optimized for a specific out of combat role (Scout, Tracker, Face, at least one unique knowledge skill....)
Ability to fly or climb
self-healing
Doesn't breathe (preferably can fight under water)

what are some of your essentials?

Whenever you are raging, the morale bonus to your Constitution increases by +2. Your rage does not end if you become unconscious. While unconscious you must still expend rounds of rage per day each round.

At 10th level, when a rage prophet enters a rage, his morale bonus to Strength and Constitution increases to +6 and his morale bonus on Will saves increases to +3.

Alright now that I have copy and pasted all the relevant rules...it seems like a silly question but I'm going to ask anyway.

I have two characters, one is a Babarian/Oracle/Rage Prophet the other is a Paldin/Sorcerer/Dragon Disciple.

For the Rage Prophet I only have 10 rounds of Rage, with this ring would I have 20 and would it be Greater Rage with +6 to Str and +8 to Con and I won't go unconcious if I go into negatives?

For the Paladin....would this give me 10 rounds of basic Rage Power and avoid the alignment issue of taking a level of Barbarian?

Canny Defense wrote:

When not wearing armor or using a shield, a duelist adds 1 point of Intelligence bonus (if any) per duelist class level to her Dexterity bonus to modify Armor Class while wielding a melee weapon. If a duelist is caught flat-footed or otherwise denied her Dexterity bonus, she also loses this bonus.

So I bought Celestial Armor for this character which caps my Dexterity bonus at 8 of course...

Does that mean if I have a Dexterity bonus of 8 I get nothing from Canny Defense?

If yes it would mean that in the long run I would be better off with Bracers of Armor.

This would be the second error I made with this build. The first was not noticing/forgetting that Power Attack needed a Strength of 13....so I want to put up the build as a double check to make sure I got the rest of the things right.

20 point build; most sources are available but no 3.5 only Pathfinder. No traits. Equipment Level - 1 Wealth per Level.

She will be starting the game at a possible level of 13.

I have a Oracle with the lame curse. I gain fatigue immunity. I see that staying up all night grants you the fatigue condition.

Does this mean the only time I need to sleep is to regain spells?

I'm a melee fighter with spells and natural weapons. I'm about to take corrosive touch and looked up holding touch spells so I would be aware of the rules when the inevitable questions came up.

From what I understand I only have to concentrate when I'm casting the spell. After I cast it and am holding the charge I don't have to concentrate to hold it.

When I'm holding the spell and am on the second round. I make a normal attack....miss...can my second claw or bite if the connect discharge the spell normally if I hit?

I'm holding a spell and am in a thin hallway. I have to move through friendly spaces. Do I have to do checks to see if I bump into people? If yes, what kind of checks? If I do bump into someone, or am hit by an enemy with an attack do I just lose the spell or is the spell cast on them?

I like my characters to be unique and I also like working with the mechanics and attempting to optimize, but I am not the best at it. Unfortunately these builds usually don't fit well in my DM's world, but happily for me he usually let's me play what I want anyway.

The hardest part that I see for some of these builds isn't making them, although that's usually pretty complicated and difficult to track. The most difficult bit is explaining how these characters came to be. Those builds that are truly screwed up I call Platypus Builds.

My current character was just recently introduced into my DM's Rise of the Runelords campaign at level 7 as a Paladin of Iomadea.

I chose Silver Dragon for the Lawful Good alignment and so that the dragon claws were the opposite in element to the demonic ones. In essence my problem with this characters backstory is that racially she was a human/angel/dragon/demon. If I had known about the crossblooded trait I probably would have added that in too.

I also had the problem that I had decided to give her human parents and when I make these choices I stick to them no matter what. Imagine my shock when I decided to roll random age/height/weight and found out that an Aasimar does not start training in a class till age 60 minimum. All of the sudden, this characters parents were dead.

So how was I supposed to explain how this person came to be and who this person was? Here is what I came up with...

Backstory:

Ya wanna know about the Fairchild’s? Thar is just one thing ya need to know. Thar ain’t anything on this world that a Fairchild hasn’t f@#$^%.
Powerful and old family they are. Legend has it that they have always been so beautiful that it has caught the attention of several powerful enti..peo..spiri…ah dammit THINGS over the generations. Now thar blood is so f@#$^% thay can’t be considered human anymore. Think thay care though? One thing I can tell you about a Fairchild is that thay love power. Doesn’t matter how they come by it or how good or bad thay are they all love it; and want it; and need it. Thar addicted to it. You catch my meaning? It doesn’t matter if thar good or evil thar desire for power is the one common streak in the lot.

Mainly thay be sorcerers. You know how sorcerer’s draw power from their blood or at least that is what I hear tell from people smarter than you and me. Usually a family will have just one thing from which to draw. Not the Fairchild’s. Some of them get magic that be from the dragons, spewing out ice from thar mouths, others be demons, growing claws of fire and still others gain their powers from the angels themselves.

Angels. I guess you were asking about ole’ Evlynne Fairchild specifically that you be wanting to know about. The Fairchild’s be human; but not all of tham have human children. Some of tham will spit out a teifling or, as in Evlynne’s case an Aasimar.

I be 10 years old when I first started working for the Fairchild’s as a kitchen boy and first set eyes on Lady Evlynne. When I first saw her she looked to be about 2 years old. It wasn’t till later I found out that she was mah same age. Ya see Evlynne be both blessed and cursed with growing up slower than the rest of us ‘mere’ mortals. Even back then she was a sight to see. She had golden eyes like the sun and fine blonde hair and she radiated a kind of light. I watched her grow up I did; served their family all my life. You only realize she be aging over a long, long time. Growing up with her it hardly seemed she changed at all. She outgrew her parents she did. When they passed she was cared for by her youngest sister. She be luckier than most, she never wanted for anything, the family be stinkin’ rich.

She’s the eldest of three; but you’d never know to look at her. She also had a brother that no one ever dares to talk about. Marcus Fairchild; was a wizard and was jealous of his sister’s immortality. Took the dark paths to obtain forbidden magics and became a lych. He was an evil bastard. Pissed off and double crossed both the evil and good sides of the family; made a lot of enemies and then disappeared. No one has seen him for many years; but he’s rumoured to still be around. Lyches are a tough lot to kill.

Now I be 60; served the Fairchild’s faithfully for me entire life. Evlynne looks to be just about 15 now. She’s been going up to the temple of Iomedae for about the last 20 years, they wouldn’t take her at first cuz she looked to be about 10 and could barely lift a sword. Figure they’d take her now. Say what you might about the Fairchild’s, they be a stubborn lot. That little girl has decided that she’s going to be a soldier of Iomedae for whatever reason and I be thinking that thar may not be anything in this world that can stop her.

Have you ever had a crazy build that you had to explain/create a back story to? What was it? How did you explain it?

Have a Paladin in one of my groups, saw how devastating Smite could be. Saw posts on here for Smiting at a distance and, of course, recently watched the Avengers so I decided to try my hand at a Captain America build.

This is my replacement character. For the game I intend to put him in we roll the stats, get one trait and characters come in at -1 wealth per level. We're allowed to use most of the Pathfinder Books and no 3.5.

Here's the Build

Shield Thrower:

Human Oathbound Paladin of Vengeance

Trait: Family Heirloom (Throwing Shield)

Stat:
Str 17 (+2 Racial) = 19
Dex 14
Con 16
Wis 14
Int 9
Cha 17

Feats/Stat Bonus:
1. Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot (Human)
3. Weapon Focus (Throwing Shield)
4. Str+1
5. Dodge
7. Close Quarter's Thrower
8. Cha+1
9. Deadly Aim
11. Distance Thrower

Relevant Treasure/Items:
Throwing Shield with Distance and Seeking
Greater Belt of Mighty Hurling
Spiked Gauntlet

I didn't take the Divine Hunter Archtype because I wanted convert my Lay on Hands to more Smite with the Oath of Vengeance more.
I want to smite, and smite a lot. I have the spiked gauntlet so that I can have a free hand for removing and throwing my shield and still count as armed for the purposes of threatening and flanking when engaged in melee.

Now my questions:

1. Close Quarter's Thrower allows me to throw my shield and not provoke an attack of opportunity. Can I throw my shield at someone right next to me and still get the bonus to damage from Deadly Aim and similar feats?

2. At level 11 what is the range I can throw the shield before I start incurring distance penalties? By my calculations:

Base 20 x 2 (Distance) = 40 + 10 (Greater Belt of Mighty Hurling) = 50 + 50 (Distance Thrower) = 100 ft.

3. Anything else I'm missing or any changes/suggestions?

I have a Sorcerer/Paladin. I understand that this does not give me any spells or bloodline powers. From what I can understand it only raises my caster level for casting spells for one class.

My question is that since Arcane Strike is dependent on Caster Level does this trait affect it?

Magical Knack:

Benefit: Pick a class when you gain this trait—your caster level in that class gains a +2 trait bonus as long as this bonus doesn't raise your caster level above your current Hit Dice.
