Despite blinding the monster, Jaru still looks concerned. There is little he can do, but prepare to heal his companions should they be pummeled by the powerful construct of stolen flesh. He waits.

Jaru tries to target the flying rat, but it darts behind the nigh impenetrable golem.

I really hate to point this out because it is a clever use of ray of frost, but that spell is affected by spell resistance and useless against the golem.

It would be nice to resolve whether the guides are down first. It make a difference, but I'll roll standard attack.

Despite the pounding, Emmett doggedly keeps up the attack.

Jaru has little interest in the sea or the grotesques therein. He casts light upon the bone symbol suspended from his neck and follows the others up.

Jaru opens his mouth to remind Simeon that they have more pressing business then it remains silently agape as the wizard motions that they should continue.

I believe summoning still takes a full round to cast, but they will attack immediately once they appear next round.

Jaru shakes his head. "Flee, the devil is too dangerous, but the spell cannot keep her here very long. Take cover and hide." Jaru pauses only to make sure Emmett reaches the other side before retreating into the ruins.

"Take cover! Do not be pulled into the torrent!" Jaru warns. "A summoning wont last that long before she is dragged back to Hell." He casts protection from evil on himself and makes sure Emmett reaches safety before retreating into the ruins.

Feeling somewhat sorry for the hungry creatures, Jaru reloads and takes aim at the last creature.

The tall priest is clearly disappointed and annoyed. "Who builds a secret to the dining room?" he asks no one in particular. He waves off the odd butler. "No, no. You have done all you can for us."

"Continue, Emmett. Perhaps this leads to the bath," he adds sarcastically.

"Forward, Emmett. I am thinking a maker of golems likely has a secret lab and I wonder what other secrets might we find there."

"Very well," Jaru sighs and turns to go through the door east of the stairs.

did we check all the rooms upstairs? It looks like there still are some darked out areas.

Jaru raises his hands. "We did not take anything," he replies. "But we are concerned about your master. You have said that he is indisposed, but we must talk to him. Will you take us to him or do we need to look for him ourselves?"

Jaru shakes his head, "I do not understand." He continues his search of the room, this time for a tome. He also takes a closer look at the engineering books in the other room to make sure there is nothing of particular interest. If nothing is found, he shrugs and beckons for the others to follow him back downstairs.

Jaru reads the letter aloud. "Adrissant. He was at the funeral, an old acquaintance of the professor."

So it's been a while, is the letter referring to us? I thought we delivered all the books to Judge Diarmid? We didn't really have any direct dealings with Adrissant did we?

Jaru pays no mind to the rich furnishings. we aren't common thieves, he thinks. He does take some time to look around the master bedroom for any clues however.

Jaru looks to the others. "I am starting to find 'indisposed' to be particularly vague and slightly ominous. I think we need to find out exactly what Caromarc's state is. Let us start upstairs." He moves up the stairs before the contraption returns.

I'm assuming the 'up' is stairs.

The priest turns again to the robo-butler. "Have you heard of the golem Carmarc calls Vengeance? Is he here?"

Before the golem returns, Jaru follows Elidal to look beyond the door. "I do not see this in the same light as the factory which was obviously inhabited and we were acting only on suspicions. The troll and goblin served the Whispering Way. Either Caromarc is allied with them or he is in dire danger."

When the automaton reappears, Jaru joins the others. "You have no food?" He gives Emmett a look and shakes his head. The tall priest looks down at the golem butler. "Where is Caromarc? Is he in the Schloss or has he left? If he is here, does he have other guests?"
