GM Fireclaw wrote:
In addition, I'm fine with using Perform (dance), but couldn't you just play the Dervish Dancer bard archetype instead?

Maybe, I keep looking at different ideas, and none of them really work as I'd wanted. I'm actually thinking just a Oracle of Flame. Simpler, easier to pull the concept, and less hassle. :)

Liberty's Edge

After looking a bit, could I use a slight variant of the Evangelist Archtype (Ultimate Combat pg 40) to Use Perform Dance instead of Perform Oratory? The idea being that he is a Dervish Dancer, which actually kind of works perfectly. If not, it's cool.

Also, I'll take the Missionary Campaign Trait, so maybe Charming and something else.

I wouldn't mind the 3 Dragon Ante method, but I need a decent Dex, Wis, and Cha. Is there a way to work with that in your method?

Liberty's Edge

I'm still interested. I'm looking at a Dervish style Cleric of Sarenrae, possibly a little bit insane. I'll probably go with the 20 point buy as I do not have the Dragon Mag and not familiar at all with 3 Dragon Ante. Traits will likely be something that grants me Perform Dance as a Class Skill, and maybe Charming. Will check out the Campaign guide for the other one.

Looking at a NG, Human, social and dextrous character, a little crazy (possibly Heretic or Seperatist Archtypes) Cleric. Fire Domain, probably. By a little crazy, I mean I want to have a few quirks, some RP hooks, and to be something of a prophet. Not stupid or gamebreaking.

I'm still trying to build character, was waiting to see what was put out, and also see what you think about the basic concept?

Liberty's Edge

I'd love to join as well, if there is room?

I believe this puts you directly below "b1" on the map.

Have't we already all rolled Init? could have sworn I waited till everyone rolled before my last post.

Liberty's Edge

On Init 12 from above -

Janos will remove Scimitar and sneak (17) forward to the door [U2, L1], while telling Yargos to remain by me.

When everyone else has preped and come forward, (round 2) I will open it and attempt to sneak further [U2, R1] and open that door.

Wadi silently points out the trail of blood he noticed, and waits for everyone to get into position.

Since it was pointed out, I'd like to investigate this a bit, as I am sneaking forward (I don't mean stopping and taking 10 mins :) to go through it, ust what I might notice as I move by). Does it look like the guards were dragged into this room from somewhere else, or that maybe one of them escaped? Or maybe whatever killed them left a little trail of blood as it left?

I am assuming that the guard with the stab wounds was dragged in here, but it could be a lot of different things. Also do the stab wounds look like from a weapon, claws, magic, etc? It may not be important, but you never know.

I am also assuming there is a closed door somewhere and while we set up initiative, I will wait by the door, unless someone else wants to open it?

Liberty's Edge

I was waiting for the other players to make their way back to the game, but I had wanted t say more. (no problem). I will also finish healing up (for 3) real fast as I make the perception check, if that is ok.

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 that is like my 3rd Nat 1 !!!, I hate dice rollers.

Fear not, it looks like fireworks to me. Not a signal. . .

If this is the case, I am not sure we should return the book, once this "silent tide" is stopped. Perhaps it is better destroyed, so that further mishaps do not occure.

From above as I heal for 2 HP.

"Capt. Venture sent us rescue Yargos for the Pathfinders, in hopes that an ancient book would help them. The Eagle Knights have also taken notice of your work and would aid you. Beckett, the tool I'm using is a simple tile-based map tool I found. It's not fantastic and it's a little clunky, but it's quick and easy enough to work with. It's called The Creator System 2, and you can download it here.

Thanks, I am thinking of trying a PbP game.

Just wondering how long a pause we are looking at? It sounded like 1 - 2 days?

Liberty's Edge

Male Aasimar Cleric 1

Ok, I misread the above thinking it was the last two prisoners instead of #2.

I'd like to continue my actions into the later rounds, though if allowed.

Talk & Heal (2 HP) once everyone who needs it is close enough and someone makes sure that the thugs that might get back up are out of range/detained

Gather equipement and speak more

Heal (3 hp)

Let me know if anyone still needs HP, I don't think so though.

Liberty's Edge

Male Aasimar Cleric 1

Making sure to gather together anyone that is damaged including the prisoners, but not the thug, Janos will Channel Energy to heal.

1d6 ⇒ 2

"Capt. Venture sent us rescue Yargos for the Pathfinders, in hopes that an ancient book would help them. The Eagle Knights have also taken notice of your work and would aid you. They have sent me to assist you in reaching your destiny as a champion of the free peoples. We had arrived at the tavern just after you and your friends were abducted."

Assuming we are not in innitiative order any longer, if so I will do these things in later rounds. . .

Round 2:"Shall I heal the thug so that you might question them?", looking at whoever is attempting bid and awaken the tug for questioning. Channel Energy again 1d6 ⇒ 3

Round 3+ until done Janos will go and retrieve his arms and armor dropped earlier, and set to work on destroying the chains that bind the prisoners, (or Aiding Another if someone stronger begins to).

Liberty's Edge

Male Aasimar Cleric 1

It will be better if Dakkon takes over, and we Aid Another him next round.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 I officially hate online dice rollers. . .

(+1 St, +4 Aid Another, right?)

"It might really help if you ladies had a rope to help get some of these folks on the bottom up. Not certain how long these chains will hold."

Liberty's Edge

Male Aasimar Cleric 1

Ok. I wasn't sure. So, Janos will
Free Action - Drop Shield
Move Action - Move D2 (taking an AoO for T2), and
Standard Action - Grab Chain.

Strength Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

Liberty's Edge

Male Aasimar Cleric 1

Janos does not have a scimitar out, hoping to catch the chain next round. I could have bashed with Light Shield, I supposse, though.

I am not sure what sort of action this will be to try to pull them up, or make sure they don't fall, but theat will be my firts priority.

If possible, (depending on the action required above), Janos will move to the ledge and attempt to cast Guidance first.

Catch and attempt to pull up prisoners (even going so far as to be Flat Footed if needed).

Free Actio: Drop shield so that I have less an Armor Check Penalty, and also now threaten no squares. . .

Move Action: Move to the side of the cliff where they have fallen and caught on.

Standard Action: Cast 0 Level Spell Guidance, hoping for a +1 on the roll to pull them up.

In Kelish, without even realizing he had slipped back into that language without thinking, "I can take the hit, Sandsworn, destroy them, and don't fear for me.", hoping that she would throw her bomb at the best place she could find, even if it caught him as well.

Back to common once he has the chains (or the old mans hands, whichever is better in the cituation), Janos says reassuringly "Come my friends, I have got you, and will not let go. I'll keep you from falling while my brave allies destroy these "War Hounders"."

Spoiler:
I would assume it would ither be a Str/Con check, or based on my Lift over Head Max wieght, but yourhe DM, so I didn't roll anything until you tell me what you would prefer. Also, like I said, I am not sure what sort of actions it requires, but the priority for me is to A.) get to the ledge, and B.) try to pull them up as soon as possible. So feel free to take out which ever actions ar too much.

Liberty's Edge

Male Aasimar Cleric 1

Initiatie 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

"Halt, ruffians, in the name of The Divine Flame."

I will double move, hoping to get to the prisoners before they might fall off the cliff. Not knowing which is Yargos, but also wanting to save them all, I wil head D4 & L4 (diagonally), the D2, (to end up in the middle of P1, P2, T5, and T2).

Liberty's Edge

Male Aasimar Cleric 1

Spoiler:
For th Drunk man, I would have liked to ask if Yargos had any enemies?
Who/what the Hounders are?
About the Soggy Pipe, and lastly, if he has seen or heard any romurs about hooded people that seem very silent and mist and fog seems to follow?

Liberty's Edge

Male Aasimar Cleric 1

"I want to help him. He is destined to be a great man for the people. Who were his friends?"

Sense Motive 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 You gotta be kidding me!

Failing to notice anything wrong, Janos will take out his money pouch and and starts to toss it in his hand, casually, "So who wants to tell me of the Hounders? Or where I can find one Yargos Gill?", directed at everyone in the place.

Diplomacy 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 (+1 from previous Touch of Glory)
(or another roll that is more appropriate?)

w0nkothesane, can I get a retroactive Diplomacy check on the drunk man to find out any more info? I'd like to ask him some more questions, but it is ok if not allowed.

I'd have also like to at least sift through his books for anything related to the Eagle Knights or a diary, or the like.

"When I touch your karma, at your flame, I foresee you ascending as a knight marshal. A personal champion of some,. . . king, perhaps. He sits on a throne. He is angry, . . . but not at you. Also, as we are walking, and while we stop to shop if we do, Janos will try to strike up a conversation with Allara, sense her apprehension to his proximity, but remaining friendly and interested himself, almost as if ignorant of her disdain, “So, what brings such a lady as you here? Earlier to Nyria "You have a most beautiful name, madame, though if I am not pressing you, what does Sandsworn mean? It reminds me of a fable, celestial lilies resting peacefully on a sacred oasis in my homeland, grown through a divine blessing by the desert priests to attract gentle birds to the water, but also to ward off those that would overuse and despoil it. It is said that even when the priests were killed by brigands, the lilies forbad them to drink. Though they continued to take their fill, the heavenly lilies, having made an oath to vigil the pool, refused to break their vigil, finally calling the very elementals to their aid. A massive sandstorm struck the band of rogues to drive them away, but even the sandstorm was not allowed to ruin the oasis, even in it’s fury. Or so it was said", Janos continues with a gentle smile "The oath of sand, I believe. "

Was that to me or to Allara? the Cleric is male, so just curious. Also, if the character flurting is too much, let me know and I'll stop. I'm not going anywhere with it.

Later to Wadi, after seeing his act "What was that, my friend? It seems you became another person for a time. Your karma seemed to die, and. . ." that weird gaze returns for but a moment, ". . . The Redeeming Flames left you. I have never seen such a thing."

Somewhere in the middle, while still interested in Wadi and Nyria, to Darkkon, but with pure honesty and innocence "Sir, a warrior born does not become a knight sitting alone in a corner. Why not come and share your soul with us? Who knows, maybe we can get them to allow you to accompany us :) on our mission, and getting to know each other certainly can't hurt your chances."

Finally, to Allara, after seeing it seems everyone else here go a little wacko at her entrance, "I can only speak for good sir Wadi, mistress Nyria and myself so far, but we do await Capt. Venture."

"I supposse that makes four of use. I wonder, shall we be bound together in the sanctity of brother-at-armsmanship? " five if Darkkon announces Pathfinder Membership as well before this

Janos Audron, the Divine Flame wandered the unfamiliar streets of this huge city, pondering the options opening up to him. From time to time, he would stop to ask strangers for directions (and also about the individual in the correspondence I wasn’t sure how much of the Faction missions we are allowed or supposed to mention), as he makes his way to this Grand Lodge. “This is such a large and dirty place” he thinks to himself between fantasizing about his heroic future that must surely follow being summoned to the Pathfinder Society HQ.

Just before stepping through the gates, he stops, smooths-out his robes and armor, makes sure his jewelry are sparkling, and lovingly retrieves his Scroll Case. Opening it and unfurling the letter within, Janos reads through one last time before stepping in.. Even the Grand Lodge is huge, and as he makes his way to the meeting place he was called to, he notices an attractive humanling standing and waiting.

Not out of rudeness or “impertinence”, he lets his eyes wander a little “below her eyes”, as the human say, as he takes in her build, with a charming smile, and noticing she is an outlander like him, though seeming less comfortable with the weather. . .

After approaching, he says “Milady, I am the Purifying Flame, Janos Audron”, followed by Janos raising his hand to his forehead, then his heart, and whirling around gracefully into a customary Qadiran (middle eastern) bow, waiting for the lady to extend her hand that he might kiss it as is customary in chivalrously. “You look cold, might I offer my cloak?” Janos’s voice is a strange accent, a mixture of Elven, Celestial, and Qadiran, for a very exotic, melodic voice. His cloths are also both exotic and odd, a mixture of Andoran’s western dress and Qadiran desert robes over armor, and partially concealing stylized tattoos common in foreign lands and amongst some barbaric tribes.

After allowing her time to respond and ask questions if she (or anyone else) would like. . .

Are you a Pathfinder as well? I am certainly glad to be sharing such beautiful company. I had feared I would be the first here, and would be waiting alone. I am happy to make your acquaintance(s) though before going out on a mission, to get to know you and pass the time in intelligent conversation. Where do you come from, for example? What sort of things do you specialize in, if I may ask?”
