Very big How To Train Your Dragon vibes with these designs. I like them. They're a nice departure from traditional D&D dragons.

I always thought the Drift was an underused concept. I want there to be floating chunks of other planes - bits of Heaven and Hell, abyssal dreadnoughts, devil-whales, chaos smurfs, a bit of everything in there. Society travel tends to be very quiet; I want the travel to be the adventure. I hope this moves in that direction.

ROUND 1:
Scratch
Franzine
Elsha
Azu
Whitegourd
Nal

Scratch fights his way to the edge and hauls Pink out of the pit!

Franzine sets her legs and hauls not one, not two, but THREE pathfinders from the pit!

Elsha moves closer and gets ready with a rope to catch anyone in need!

Azu?

Whitegourd summons a giant fly, who swoops in snag a slightly disgused but grateful grey Pathfinder from the column!

Nal uses Elsha's secured rope to help haul Yellow out!

SAVED: Pink, Light Blue, Black, Purple, Yellow, Grey

Only Green and Blue remain! Azu is up!

Yes! Sorry, switching between 1st ed and 2nd has gotten me all wired. Yes, everyone starts with 1 Hero Point. I think I'll grant Scratch a second one for obliterating the poor suit of armor.

There is a thunderous BOOM and the armor falls apart into a heap, sending bits of shrapnel flying and an echoing peal of thunder throughout the complex.

I don't think the extra D12 is doubled. So it would be 2d12+2 x2 plus 1d12. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The complex eventually goes quiet as the echoes die and your ears stop ringing.

Red Bite vs Grams: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 for 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 piercing!
Red Claw vs Aldonza: 1d20 + 11 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 11 - 4 = 22 for 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 slashing!

Guide to Organized Play wrote:

Mentorship and PC Level Bumps
To provide low level players a more fun and fair experience, PCs whose level equals the adventure’s base level (such as a 3rd-level PC playing in a Level 3–6 scenario) gain a temporary boost when playing in the higher level range called a level bump to represent the higher-level PCs’ mentorship and support.

Increase every DC the PC has by 1.
Increase the attack modifiers, attack damage, spell damage, saving throw modifiers, skill modifiers, Perception modifiers, and AC of the PC by 1.
Increase the Hit Point totals of the PC by 10 or by 10%, whichever is higher.
These adjustments are less beneficial than gaining a level, yet they provide the PC more survivability and opportunity to contribute to the adventure experience, reducing the degree to which higher-level PCs might overshadow these less experienced Pathfinders.

You should also remind higher level PCs to apply any mentor boons they might have purchased.

So any PC who is 1st level (since this is a 1-4) should get the bumps above. Let's take a moment and verify we are all using the right rules before I proceed in my homicidal machinations.

So here's the thing: I am deviating slightly from the Scenario as written. The Influence checks each accumulate 'Influence Points' with Vionnia that determine how much help she gives you in this final fight. A success nets 1, a failure none, critical success 2, and a critical failure loses 1. HOWEVER, as this is PbP and people tend to be more role-play heavy here, I have decided to add a few for roleplaying. If we were at a table and no one was roleplaying and it was just dry skill checks, I'd stick to the written rules. But since I feel that I have some discretion here and you have been roleplaying excellently, I have rounded up on what information she shares with you prior to this battle.

Just wanted to let you know in case you run this in the future and wonder why what you read is different from what I did.

The novices look confused by the mix of determined voices and somewhat weak arguments. They look at each other, roll their eyes and one mutters "OK Boomers." You know this to be a disparaging term for the sudden boom of Pathfinder recruits following the Siege of Absalom... And they march boldly forward into the patch of grass...

They won't respond to reason, but they may respond to force? Or you can wait and let them experience the consequences of their actions? If you wish to act, treat this as a combat round in which you all have Initiative. Slide 12!

We have a success on Inventry thanks to Salaish! Each PC receives their choice of a lesser antidote or lesser antiplague, as Urwal discovers that the Society packed in excess for the mission.

We have a GREATER success on Magical Supplies thanks to Elsha and Scratch! Barun and her team make an abundance of materials. Each PC receives a minor healing potion AND a lesser healing potion!

An aasimar woman with violet marks on her face looks around. “Urwal? Urwal, where have you gone? We’re setting off now. Urwal?” She jumps slightly as an iruxi man suddenly drops to the ground from the tree overhead. He begins talking without missing a beat. “Pathfinders, watch your feet and know your plants and animals. The Thorned Monarch is wreaking havoc on the ecology of this area, and we don’t want to make it worse. Valais, aren’t you ready to go? We’re departing now.” Valais Durant stares for a brief moment before replying. “Yes. Yes, I am ready. Pathfinders, we’re very close to the Door of Seasons now, and things are about to get dangerous. Watch each other’s backs and don’t be afraid to call for help.”

Durant points out a series of small tracks. “There are fey coming from somewhere around here. We think Qxal might be using mushroom rings to allow their fey allies to cross over from the First World to ours. See if you can find one and shut it down, but be careful. By the looks of things, they’re already operational.”

Slide 10! Place your PCs in the dotted line box! I need Perception or Survival checks to find the mushroom ring!

The newly minted Pathfinders look reassured but still apprehensive when the impromptu concert is over, leaving you with hope as their survival rate!

The neophyte Pathfinders are in much better spirits for the journey ahead and can lend the PCs a hand. Once during the adventure, each PC can receive a +1 circumstance bonus to one skill check or attack roll, representing the fellow Pathfinder succeeding at a check to Aid them. The PC must decide to use this benefit before rolling.

Inventory and Magical Supplies are left! We have about 4 hours before this part is done, so I'll post both. Good luck!

INVENTORY
Verdant Wheel faction leader Urwal lays on the ground, making marks on a scroll that stretches over 10 feet long. “This is our supplies list. Everything from rations to ammunition to the mounts needed to transport it all with us. We need to ensure that we know where everything is. I’m not letting anyone try to forage while we’re traveling.” Nature, Society or Survival!

MAGICAL SUPPLIES
Envoy’s Alliance faction leader Fola Barun directs a group of Pathfinders who are carefully blending magic and ingredients inside glass vials. “Come help us ensure that everyone is well supplied for this journey.” Arcana, Nature, Occultism or Religion

Greater success! Each PC receives one piece of non-magical low-grade cold iron ammunition of their choice from the Core Rulebook. AND Greater Reward As the standard reward, and the PCs receive a single non-magical low-grade cold iron simple or martial weapon of their choice from the Core Rulebook.

MORALE
