I suppose buying a Set 2 hireling as like... my agent that helps me when I'm too gruff and blunt in public since Jaka isn't the best at conversing. So I can Aid Another on my own ally? Is that how it works?
And at first level, it's just a diplomacy etc roll at +1?

I'm at work and don't have access to my Starfinder Core Rulebook (I keep forgetting to email myself the PDF, and google drive is behind the crappy work firewall). Could someone quote me the text on hirelings maybe?

Ah, I actually missed that part of the CRB when I was reading about non-lethal and such. That's much better. I still do prefer the Pathfinder system of "any amount of non-lethal" being knocked out when brought to zero, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I hope the final blow is non-lethal damage...

I gotta say, IMO the way 10 light bulk = 1 bulk = 19 light bulk is a very silly way for it to work. It really should just be round up. However, Kandoon seems to be correct. RAW is that 19 light is the same as 10 light, so by RAW a Ysoki can carry 19 light bulk in his cheeks.

Before he can register who has come out of the smoke, he fires his telekinetic projectile at the figure reflexively. S!$$! he curses mentally, accidentally broadcasting his telepathy as he rushes toward Talbot. "Drop your weapon and surrender! Don't accept the same fate as your miners!"

Huh. Didn't realize there was a censorship filter in our brains. Fascinating.

Jaka also decides the best course of action is to finish off whoever is left standing, and prepares to fire a small stone towards them with his telekinesis.

"Actually Renyaale, if I may... I can make good use of that medkit if the need arises." Jaka says, interrupting her. He accepts the medkit and places it in his own pack.

Jaka snaps open his tactical baton, readying it in case of any threat, following along as the rear-guard. His antennae wriggle on top of his head, probing for unexpected vibrations in the air. (Racial blindsense 30ft)

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

I'll definitely be buying an advanced medkit after this game, and maybe a few more support options. I'm building Jaka very strangely, eventually I'm gonna take Power Armor Prof. and basically be the healer-wall.

No need for a rest for me, though I did use two of my three spells.

Jaka mumbles a short prayer over the dead and helps remove them from the premises.

I didn't forget its usefulness, I just totally overlooked buying the thing to use it haha

I apparently never purchased a Basic Medkit, for whatever reason. Unless someone has one, I do have a decent Medicine score.

I've had nothing but repeated "Website under maintenance" when trying to access the site, it's getting a little irritating. By the way, did anyone end up taking HP damage?

So I was unable to access the site over the weekend for (???) reasons? I don't know why, but now that I'm at work I can, and I have finally posted.

Jaka curses under his breath as he feels the Shobhad break the connection to his mind and focuses again, this time with much less finesse. He floods the creature's head with as much telepathic energy as he can muster.

Casting Mind Thrust I on the Shobhad

Mind Thrust I damage: 2d10 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8 (DC 15 Will halves damage)

He then reaches his mind out to his injured allies. Don't get yourselves killed! If you're too injured, just get behind me! He mentally shouts to them, his protective nature taking over.

Jaka peeks into the back room as a hole opens up in Centian's shoulder. He spots the enormous Shobhad and immediately has his target. He focuses all his mental strength on the creature's brutish mind, attempting to confuse its thoughts.

Jaka casts Confusion, Lesser on the Shobhad, DC 15 to negate.

Jaka should be across from Centian, next to Renyale.

I just finished working double double-shifts, but I'm here now

Jaka leaps to his feet and takes after Centian, taking up position directly across from him next to the door, tactical baton at the ready. He nods at the human, speaking into his mind, We strike the first creature to come through this door.

Readied action to melee attack anything enemy-like that comes through?

"Seems like a fair deal to me. I prefer to not be the one doing the 'dirty' work."

Jaka glances at his companions for affirmation with a shrug.

Jaka raises his glass in thanks and sips his drink. Spotting the Shirren to the side he attempts his best business-like saunter toward them. "Good day, friend. I see you've got a couple of guards hired here - easy to spot for one in the profession myself. I've been looking to add to my contacts, would you mind a small exchange of knowledge?" He asks confidently, and goes to sit across from the Shirren without waiting for permission.

Jaka also has Profession (Mercenary), at a whopping total of +12. Professional's tools is quite the nice item! I'm flavouring it to be a list of contacts and people he knows, as the CRB leaves it open-ended.

"Well Kandoon, I've got a wide web of hook ups, they might be able to put us in touch with the right people."

Jaka pulls out a rather antiquated looking personal comm unit and begins to flip through his contacts, commenting out loud to the group if and when he finds any relevant people to talk to. "Le'see here... Frank... no... Ali? Nah he bit it last year. Never take assassination contracts. Hm. Ah, this one!"

Okay, enough of this wrong name nonsense, I'm setting Jaka to my primary posting alias.

"Keep me alive and I'll keep you alive." Jaka says to the others before turning to Centian, "We'll return your artifact."

"Not the type of task I'm used to, but I guess that's why I signed up with the Society. You can only do the same thing for so long." He grunts and then asks, "So, does Talbot need to be in one piece? I'm not a fan of... removing people from the equation."

I'm perfectly fine with you rolling whatever you need to for my character. That's why I included my character sheet.

I was also wondering, under "Players" it has my main posting alias listed because originally I couldn't figure out how to post as Jaka (I'd never used an alias). Does that matter? and if it does, is there a way to fix it?

Jaka enters the VC office rather later than the others, nodding to each of the them without apology. His helmet under one arm, the iridescent teal coloured Shirren stands in the center of the room and says gruffly, and perhaps a bit self-consciously, "Jaka. New here."

As he waits, he idly fiddles with the tactical baton at his hip, the weaponry and heavy armor looking rather at odds with the religious icon of The Devourer attached to his breastplate.

Are there no Starfinder avatars available yet? If so, I can't seem to find them.
