I bow my head to Mikmek, "May your lands be safe and your tribe grow healthy my friend, the Elk Father watches over all. If you are in need of assistance, just send word to us up north. We stop by Master Oleg and Miss Svetlana's frequently and your plea's will be found there." I accept the arrows from Vlad, "You know me so well Vlad, I can think of a few things that could be improved with a couple of these beautiful arrows planted in them." I let out a little giggle before storing them in my quiver. I then look to Vorik and give him a private smile, "A hot bath sounds nice indeed, I wonder if I shall find some way to wash by back?" I mount up along with everyone else and begin to ride back to Oleg's.
While Hrafen and Vlad sort through the "magical" stuff, I pull out the other items of note and start to make small little piles so it is easier to see what there is. I go to take the arrows when I see the but as I am about to put them into my own quiver Hrafen mentions they may be magical and I pass them to Vlad to see if he can tell me what they are. While that is happening I get back to my sorting, where I find the ring, "Well this ring belongs to Miss Svetlana, given to her by Master Oleg. We should definitely return it to them. There also around 2000 Silver Links and over 200 Golden Crowns."
I follow the others into the chamber once the bodies have been removed of valuables and have a look around.
I look from Hrafen, to the bodies to Mikmek and back, "Master Vormenghast, don't you think we should ask our new allies before we start looting corpses? They would probably be in more need of it than us anyway."
I place another arrow to "GoldFire's" string and loose it at Tartuk.
I move up to Mikmek and stand beside him, drawing and nocking an arrow to "GoldFire's" string as I move. When I get next to him I nod and smile at him before releasing the string and letting the arrow fly in Tartuk's direction.
Spying the Shaman rush around the corner I gasp and quickly draw "GoldFire" and get ready for battle.
I look shocked as I hear what Vorik is saying, "I didn't even think about if they declared single combat! I just assumed that there would be a brawl!" I turn to look at Mikmek, "If it is single combat that is decided to keep your throne, then I will not interfere. But I would rather help you keep the throne you have been given."
I bow my head to Mikmek, "Vlad is correct, it's best to strike first. But I can see that causing problems for you if the others think you are worried about him claiming the right to rule the tribe. There is something else that would help you defeat him ... us. I am willing to help you defeat him if it means a continued alliance between our peoples." I look to everyone for any sign of them wanting to help.
I kneel down in front of the chief and accept the token of friendship, I then put it on in front of him so that he can see I am happy with the arrangement. "I hope that from this day forth and until the end of time, our peoples can count on each other as allies, in times of both war and peace."
I smile at the chief and bow my head, "A mighty warrior indeed." I keep behind everyone else, but make sure that I can help out should the shaman try anything.
Once in the presence of the chief I go down to one knee and make sure not to make eye contact until spoken to. I look to the purple Kobold and listen intently, "jennu rimem, svabol ornla nomenoi lyrik ways qe? si mi honoured ekess qe wer persvek wer presence di voga svaust dislikes wer ulhar skav, nomagqe vin gebalam tiliw qe xurwka ekess ensure wer trouble no-one tenamalo? wer jillepse zklaen tepoha coanwor zi recent lae si noticed batobot wer paintings re zi kwiip." Draconic: "Great chief, what would these other ways be? I am honoured to be the in the presence of another who dislikes the blue vermin, perhaps an alliance could be made to ensure the trouble no-one again? The vision must have been very recent as I noticed that the paintings are very fresh."
As we meet the Spear Leader I un-strap my sword and hold it out to a guard, "If you hold onto this until we are ready to leave, that should show my willingness to form trust between our people." I follow along with everyone else, not saying anything but taking in all that I can see and hear.
I look to both of the Kobolds, then my companions and back again, "Well let's meet this chief then and try to make an alliance." I keep my "GoldFire" in hand and ready to loose the arrow if danger comes our way.
I look to Hrafen and nod in agreement and then look back to the kobold, "It seems you're the only one who doesn't want peace, the way I see it you're likely to attempt to sabotage our peace terms. Why?"
I don't try to catch as she slips passed, but I do whisper to her as she passes, "Where are you going at such a dangerous time?"
I look to Hrafen, "if it comes any closer to us, then we should wake the others. Hopefully it will turn around shortly ... if not it will receive a welcome, just not a warm one."
I look in the direction that Hrafen in pointing sleepily, then stand up. I take "GoldFire" and an arrow, nock it to her string and get ready to loose it at the creature. "I say let it be for now, but if it comes over half the distance to us, or comes at us menacingly, then we drive it off. Sound good?"
I open my eyes half way looking up at Hrafen's face very sleepily, "Yes?" I yawn and then rub my eyes, "My turn to watch?"
I look to Vorik, "I can smell it too, I can't identify the source of the smell though. But it does seem to have similarities to a large creature marking their hunting grounds. We should be careful and keep our eyes open."
I quietly follow the Kobolds and make sure not to say anything that would upset the female, I kept my word and I don't wish to push my luck any further.
I look to Vlad and nod, "Sounds like a good idea."
Seeing that Hrafen and Vlad are hesitant to cross, I kneel down on the ground and pull out the cloth wrapped statue, I place it gently on the ground in front of me for the Kobold to pick up, making sure that I keep my word. I then turn to face Vorik, "We're just going to explore further in, we won't be long. Please make sure our friends are safe." With that I turn and jump across the ravine again.
"Shall we continue then?"
I pick up the statue in the cloth that is already prepared and point out the bag to the others as I am putting the statue in my own backpack. "I guess we are going back across then, unless you want to explore further in?"
I will look through the heap of junk, looking for anything that could be the sacred statue, if I do find it, I will get a piece of cloth and pick it up with that, wrapping it in it carefully before placing it in my pack.
I grin in the darkness, "They've surrendered, but still ... be careful." Hearing the foul critters talking I decide to reply in kind. Sylvan: "Where is the Kobold's sacred statue? If you truly wish to surrender, you will either tell us where it is or give it to us."
I nod at Vlad's comment and sheath my blade and follow the others as they jump across.
Seeing the writhing filth I glance at Vlad, "What is that down there and how do we get across?"
I nod to the Kobold, "Agreed, I shall not touch the statue and let you carry it home. We are going to go on ahead now, stay safe and we will return shortly." I look around to my companions, "Which way should we go?"
"What if I don't touch the statue, one of the others can or I can use a cloth instead of my hands?"
I listen to Vlad carefully and smile at the Kobolds, "Do you trust us to go on ahead and retrieve your sacred statue for you and return it to Chief Sootscale while you return home? I don't want you getting caught again or getting injured."
I smile at Hrafen, "Don't worry Master Vormenghast, Vlad will help me with this. Would be be able to keep an eye out though, I would rather not be surprised by the hundred legged creature." With Vlad's help I get to work cutting the ropes that are holding up the Kobolds and I pull out a knife to cut the binds around their legs. I look to Vlad, "Can you do anything about their injuries?"
I rush over to the Kobolds and draw my sword again, "Do not worry my friends, I'll get you down now. Ser Vorik, we have some friends here in need of healing. I also need someone to catch these 4 as I cut their bonds." I will wait for someone to come along and hold the Kobolds, so when I cut the ropes they don't fall to the floor and hurt themselves any more.
"Do not worry my little friend, we shall free you, your companions and remove the threat of the hundred legged monster." I nod to both Hrafen and Vlad and head down the pit too, I sling the sword back into it's holster so I have both hands to climb if needed.
"We shall free you from the vermins grasp and retrieve your sacred statue for you. What and where is this beast with one hundred legs?" If I can find the Kobold I am speaking with, then I shall release him from any bonds or cage.
"Spear of Kobolds? Would you happen to be part of Chief Sootscales Tribe?"
Seeing the critter turn to run I quickly slash out at it with my blade.
Hearing the voice from below I respond, "All of these vermin deserve to die and we are assisting a tribe with their problem. These Mites are the problem and have stolen the tribe sacred statue, we will be retrieving it for them. Who are you?"
Seeing the critters dropping around me I find myself smiling as I swing my blade at the vermin beside me.
Seeing the vermin on the roof of the cavern I slash my sword at the critter.
But my swing doesn't connect as I am too worried about hitting the ceiling with my blade too much.
I glare at the Mite in the corner and reply loudly, "Resh Shcree!" As I shout I swing my blade at the vermin in front of me.
Well my Leather-working can be anything from Armours, to Harnesses and Saddles. Anything leather. I also have Bow-making, but would rather stick with the Leather.
I am still completely confused by all of this.
Seeing the large mount explode, I wipe my facing with my arm quickly to remove the goo that has flung itself upon me and then swing my blade at the vermin beside me.
I have to admit, while reading that I was just getting more and more confused. I will have to read it a few more times to see if I can finally understand what is being said. Either way, I would be doing my Leather-Crafting as I mentioned at the beginning of the campaign. I think Vorik was asking for a forge at Oleg's so he could make some weapons.
