Jaed is tall for a tengu, standing a solid 5 ft. tall and weighing 101 lbs. His feathers and eyes are black. He's 21 years old.

Background:Living as a hunter/trapper/logger, Jaed spent the vast majority of his time beyond the boundary of civilization, which suited him fine. The decadence of city-folk always annoyed him, and he would find ways to upset them whenever he thought he could get away with it.
One night, after a few to many ales, he thought it would be a good idea to urinate on an altar of Mitra. After donning the regalia of the local high priest, and thinking the temple empty, he did so. Sadly for him, he forgot the time, and just as he was about to strip off the clothes and shred them, five Mitrans arrived to make ready for the morning ceremonies. One of them the high priest, another....Sir Balin of Karfield. The famous Sir Balin of Karfield, known for hunting defilers of the faith. Due to his drunken state, it was no challenge to subdue him.
Now, Jaed is in rags, waiting for the stake and the flame.

History: He doesn't know where he was born. He was raised in an orphanage, until he ran away at the age of 9. He's lived a hard, cold life since, working at various times as a hunter, trapper, and logger.

BackgroundJaed finds himself in the small, dirty town of Sandpoint because his patron, the Lord Justice of Magnimar, ordered him to take his son there for the swallowtail festival. Thankfully, Jaed knows this is the last duty he must perform in the service of Bayl, as his years of servitude will end once he has the boy back in his fathers home.

HistoryJaed was born in Tian Xia, but left home for the fabled lands of Avistan as soon as he was able to slip away. So far, he's been run out of the frozen nation of the Linnorm Kings, and has since spent the majority of his time in Varisia, specifically Magnimar.
He doesn't want to be a language tutor to the spoiled brat, but it was that, or face the gallows, and he isn't ready to stand before Pharasma just yet. He ended up serving the current Lord Justice of Magnimar, Bayl Argentine, a five year term as an indentured servant for making the mistake of trying to steal from Bayl himself while he was walking home from a late-night visit to one of his many mistresses.

Background Jaed was born in the slums of Absalom, raised as a thief for his family. In his tenth year he managed to escape by stowing away on a merchant vessel, at least he thought it was a merchant ship. It turned out to be a ship that spend most of its time as pirates.
He was found, and forced to serve aboard ship. He never made for a very good member of the ship, but proved to be an asset in a fight and when somewhere needed broken into.
In the years since being forced to join the crew, Jaed worked his way to being the head of security for the ship. His job was to control the crew, keeping them in line, and taking care of anyone that felt like mutiny was the best option. This job never felt right to Jaed, but he did it regardless. It was better than his life back in Absalom.
In his years on ship, he only found a single person to be worthy of friendship, Xane, a strange woman of fiendish ancestry.
Xane doesn't realize it, but Jaed slipped off the ship to follow her, as she all too often finds herself in situations he has to drag her out off, often literally.
