Jack pipes in after one of his prolonged silences...

"Yes, let's get that thing out of here...allons-y"

Jack likes to speak French around the true Brits, makes his Norman blood warm. Plus I love David Tennant's Dr. Who heh.

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

dunno if you already rolled it or not

Conviction 4 or Discipline 4 4d3 + 5 - 8 ⇒ (1, 2, 2, 3) + 5 - 8 = 5

"Foolish underling, you have no power over me...

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

Investigation 2: 4d3 - 8 + 3 ⇒ (1, 1, 3, 3) - 8 + 3 = 3

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

"Then a bargain? I think I'd rather deal with them in our world, than bargain with them, I've studied law, but the sidhe, they make our laws look like they're written on swiss."

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

Jack holds up the chess piece with his left hand, while drawing his sword with his right. "Seems the darkness releases different shades this night, be gone from this place of your own accord, or be banished..."

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

"Well then, we should find out about this Chess King Killer. He was quite the opponent, luckily the shadows were with me. "

Jack begins to draw the very shadows in the room toward him.

4d3 - 8 + 4 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 2) - 8 + 4 = 2

OK I added discipline, do I add anything else? If not then The shadows are my friends. Burn a fate point to re-roll: 4d3 - 8 + 4 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 3) - 8 + 4 = 7

I think I'll need to change that one, seems pretty positive not neutral now that I think about it.

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

"So what's our plan of action? Seems many roads lead from here."

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

Would Jack be able to cast a tracking spell on the piece using the shadows cast by the piece to point the way?

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

"Aye, it always seems there's something happening in the real world, the mortals have no idea how often things go bump in the night."

"In fact, the fellow I faced at the ball didn't seem to be part of the Dragon's attack at all, he dropped this white king chess piece. Perhaps a calling card?"

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

wow, lots to catch up on, got to try out the Alpha Play test of Atomic Robo this weekend with Mike Olson though heh.

"Aye, this is turning out to be a bit sticky. We need to find out more information, who, what and why mostly. Yes, I know, stating the obvious as usual. I'll need to be getting back to my place to pick up my blade, I'll feel much better with it on me."

Jack will also lore check 'magical keys'
4d3 - 8 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1, 1, 1) - 8 + 3 = 0

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

Jack listens to the twin's father

4d3 - 8 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 1) - 8 = -3

...but gets distracted by the twins themselves...very distracted...

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

No, he did a head dive into the concrete at school, tripped stepping over a wall, and had his hands wrapped in his backpack straps...

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

Hey, sorry bout the last week, new job and the move have been kick'n my ass. Also having to deal with a sick wife, and 1 son with Post-Concussive Syndrome...joy. So hoepfully as I settle in to the new house, and the new job hours, I'll get into the 1+ per day posting.

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

Jack stumbles out of the ballroom. Then catches up to everyone, causing Danny's phone to waver a bit.

"Wow, talk about party crashers. Danny, you uh, got some a little blood on yah."

Sorry for not being up to date on this one, still dealing with unpacking...also, new job. Worry not, I'll either get it together, or write myself out of the game.

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

Of course if we had to leave our weapons at home, then I don't have my weapon...hmmm.

I'm assuming it's pretty obvious that this is a supernatural creature, if it is, then Jack will tip his face down in a sinister manner, and whispers a phrase in Basque, one of his rote spells.

"Itzalen kapa" as the shadows begin to swirl around him. [defense spell]

4d3 - 8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 1) - 8 + 4 + 1 = 4 adding Conviction and the bonus from my bracer. Just going for a Strength 4 effect. let me know what I need to subtract from my stress track if need be. (and the previous spell)

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

Jack will tag Blood on the Dancefloor for his defense roll.
(free tag on the first tag right?)

Defense 2 + 4d3 - 8 ⇒ 2 + (2, 3, 3, 3) - 8 = 5 do I add anything to defense without a skill?

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

Jack will attempt to create darkness around the head of the approaching bad guy, in an attempt to blind them.

murmurs something incomprehensible

So that's +4 for conviction and and 1 mental stress?

4d3 - 8 + 4 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 3) - 8 + 4 = 3

"You two, move, get out of here NOW!"

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

I'm still in the middle of moving, I'll try to catch up tonight.

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

Jack will do his fade into the shadows thing first. (already rolled it)

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

Lore: 4d3 - 8 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2, 1, 2) - 8 + 3 = 2
Alertness: 4d3 - 8 + 1 ⇒ (1, 3, 2, 3) - 8 + 1 = 2

Trip: total of 3, the roll to simulate the FATE dice is 4d3-8 (as 2x4=8 which is the 0 total)

"I know this music..."

Jack slips into the shadows

Stealth: 4d3 - 8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 1) - 8 + 3 + 2 = 4

Jack and "Trip"

As the couple finish their dance to the sound of the orchestra on stage, they drift to the side of the dance floor. Miss Lauren with a confident curtsy in reply to the waltz, "You are quite accomplished." she says breathlessly. Then lets out a gasp as Jack emerges from the darkness.

Hope it's alright calling 'Sir Gilroy "Trip" Langdon III' - "Trip" as it is alot easier for me :)

"Oh, Sir Gilroy is quite accomplished in many aspects, isn't that right 'Trip'? And Sorry to intrude, just thought I'd say hello to an old friend, didn't want to interrupt your dance though."

"Pleasure to meet you, Miss Lauren. Lovely Uni you have here..."

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

Jack continues moving around the crowd, listening for anything of use, or interest before tapping on 'trips' shoulder. (after his dance)

Stealth: 4d3 - 8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3, 1, 1, 3) - 8 + 3 + 2 = 5

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

oh yeah, gotta add that FATE point to my total from the compel...Note: I added my Stress track and fate to the Class line since that shows up for easy tracking.

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

Jack tires of hanging around outside, especially since he's not in the mood for getting wet. He moves around the shadows to the entrance, and attempts to slip inside unnoticed...that's his thing.

Stealth 4d3 - 8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 3) - 8 + 3 + 2 = 7

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

Accept the Compel

Jack arrives at the party, on his 1936 Motorcycle, complete with sidecar. As he steps off he reminds himself how happy he is that this bike has given him very few troubles. Hexes just don't affect WW2 era vehicles as much as the modern cars. Jack walks up to the door with his goggles still on, never a fashion whore, no matter that he was French, he considers it a waste of money. Besides, ladies love a bad boy...Now, to locate Matthew and to watch for any hunter activity.

Jack steps into the Shadows and Cloak of Shadows for a few minutes as he walks around a corner.

Stealth 4d3 - 8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 1) - 8 + 3 + 2 = 4

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

apologies for not posting anything yet, I've been sick for the last 3 days, and it's getting worse...lungs, head...So Jack is runnign late to the event...maybe he'll show up when 'it hits the fan.

Again, my apologies

Ph:OOOO Mn:OOOO Sc:OOO FATE:3

Roger that, now that Anime Conji is over, I'll be able to figure out my focus items and such.

OK, got my tie in stories done up.

Wrote in Danny Kaye and Trip Langdon.

Just need to get my focus items and enchanted items written up. I just wrote in that his parents were dealers in antiquities. So I can write up my items with that in mind.

Also, his 'father' wasn't his real father, but his mother was a full wizard, he just found that out in the last 'tale'.

Also, his spells use Basque as their language. Kinda fun, I love using google translate for gaming.

Background: Where did you come from?
Jack grew up with his parents, but they were killed by a Red Court Vampire when he was 14, his cloak of shadows first started to manifest when he was hiding in the pantry, the others looked in there, but no one could see him even though it was a small pantry.
Phase Aspect: The Shadows are my friends

Rising Conflict: What shaped you?
The loss of his parents shaped Jack, he decided to hunt the monsters that killed them. He had to think like the monsters, so he watched, waited, and observed. The ability to hide, the ability to watch, and not be surprised became tantamount. He spent much of his inheritance learning about magic, if vampires were real, magic must be as well. For years he studied, the council even tested him, but he hasn't progressed to Wizard yet, probably never will they say. But the Wardens watch him none the less, as his powers are dark and his anger is strong.
Phase Aspect: Hunting the Hunters

The Story: What was your first adventure? "HUNTER HUNTED"
Jack was determined to remove the Red Court Vampire from the world. He researched and prepared, then he called in a few favors, and took her down and her retinue. The council didn't want to be involved, but some others in the supernatural community did. Lady Ramsgate learned to feat the darkness that night.
