Kata Master lets you use Unarmed Strike as a weapon for some of the Swashbucklers deeds. If I took this Archetype and then multiclassed into Swashbuckler could I use the other deeds with my unarmed strike?

Ok so like the title says I want to play a Half-Troll with exalted feats and working his way toward sainthood. Using the Monk as his base class.
We do use LA/CR buy off so by 6th level I have already bought off my Half-Troll CR adjustment (PF version of LA) but when I become a Saint I gain another +2 to my Character Level. I don't think I can buy off these CR as its half of my CR total but who knows I might be able to swing it.

The ability scores dont really matter to much.
My feats were going to be Nimbus of Light, Touch of Gold Ice, Sanctify Natural Attack (Claws) which covers the saints requirement of at least 3 feats.
I might take Holy Radiance as well if I can swing it.

PF with flaws on a human half-troll I should get 6 feats if I take two flaws.
But as a Monk character, maybe a Sacred Fist (Warpriest Archetype) I wondered how best to set this up.

Still working on the Sacrifice to gain sainthood but I am really wanting to play this idea as I am fond of Half-Trolls and the Saint idea really makes the Monk/Sacred Fist way more viable and worth playing without feeling like I am subpar.

Hello all!

Ok so I have decided to make an unarmed and unarmed character for my game. The one where I rolled straight 18s if you all recall.

Well as I said I am allowed any race so long as its under the level 5 requirement. So I decided for Human, but I am going to tag on a template.
Saint Template

Now of course this is a huge template, a +2 LA but for PF we focus on that +2 CR.

Now normally this would be gestalt so I am not sure what to do with that. If I was doing Gestalt I might want to so something like Sacred Fist//Monk2/BrawlerX
As far as I can tell this makes you extremely adaptive, hit pretty hard, and of course have boatloads of AC.

Now Saint allows you to add Wis to AC a second time because it calls it a Insight Bonus.

Now lets say we took the CR hit on the Monk Brawler side.

What Blessings would best fit this idea of unarmed combat? Wht items should I pick up. Aside from the Dex Belt and Wis Headband to further my AC.

It would look like Sacred Fist 5//CR 2/Monk 2/Brawler 1.

Any Advice?

EDIT: I also thought of taking just straight Monk because I do love the Monk but the Sacred Fist works best with the template and the +2 to save DCs works best with spells. A Sacred Fist//Brawler would likely be effective, but it doesn't gain some of the monks iconic abilities can I get them with Sacred Fist or Brawler?

Gunslinger Monk is mostly due to the Wis to AC, Full Good Saves, and a backup weapon if your gun explodes. Warpriest would be slightly better.

18, 18, 12, 14, 12, 16 is her stat roll out.

That was sort of the idea to best fill slots when we needed them. 9th level caster like the Arcanist that can learn every spell from the Wiz/Sorc spell list and with a Full Round action get the spell I absolutely need for the occation. While still being viable in a fist fight or just straight up melee once I use up the spells that make it a mop up. The Warpriest/Rogue is my fiance and yeah she likes the healer/sneaky feel of it and it works well for her not to mention she is Skill-Monkey with a 8+Int she can easily handle a lot of the skill checks we need. (We were talking about getting her the Academic Priest feat from Dragonlance which switches the Wis focus of the Warpriest to Int to make that even more powerful.) She has a really good roll too so an 18 in Int plus racial bonus of her so a 20 Int so a 8+5 for skills makes her the uberskill master.

I think he is going to go Gunslinger//Monk due to the good synergy and of coruse duel wielding Six shooters later with a great AC. I suggested Warpriest for Crusader's Flurry with a pistol. (The benefit section of Crusader's flurry makes no mention of the melee bit, just that you have the weapon focus feat on your god's melee favored weapon)

we have a party of just 3 people none of us optimized.

Alright while I have no decided strictly on this yet I am curious about this combo and would like more insights on it. Is it worth taking what could make it work well together.

Brawler//Arcanist
The idea is that with the flexibility of the Arcanist and the Flexible feats of the brawler there is really nothing this character can't do day by day. So how would it be best to make this character work together?

Especially if you plugged that onto this race.
Remember it would be built with a run of Straight 18s.

I honestly think Kirito could be done best by a Gestalt game, but Swashbuckler for early levels and then taking Slayer would be a pretty good depiction.

Also his whole way of fighting is Parry and Riposte

Bard//Brawler (good saves, good HD and Full BAB and the flexible feat thing means you can change up the fighting style between each game.)

But I am curious if a Brawler/Arcanist would be best for the character who is never the same in battle each day.

How well would a Synth Summoner//Bard work?

Could buff the party and still turn into a bad ass monster?

Core, Featured, and Uncommon Races are all open,
Dreamscarred Races; Azlanti.
Any race with an adjustment of less then 5 no more then 4 I suppose.

The support//Active dynamic seems to be the best. We are a small party so being able to buff the party while still kicking butt wouldn't be a bad idea.

We do have access to 3.5 feats and some 3pp. I have Lost Tradition as an option (Mainly due to this being a game about Azlanti and magic so many thousands of years ago being different works for the fluff of it.)

I don't do Rogue just because my Fiance typically plays Rogue or Cleric characters or lately the Swashbuckler. So she may be playing a Warpriest//Rogue.
(Advice on this would be gladly taken, Warpriest is still new to our group so we are still learning its feel.)

Exactly how does this make an unlimited Arcane pool?
Edit: Nevermind read how.

Hmm if you went a crit fisher build that would make you have near endless ki/arcana.

We can use some 3.5 books, like the Mercenaries books from AEG so a Falcata with Serrated and Laminated Steel would be 18-20/x4 on a 1d8

Add Keen or Improved Critical and its a 15-20/x4 which means he will crit more often and will pretty much kill anyone he hits (which returns Ki/Arcana as well.)

So I did some questioning with my GM.
The Elan race is said to be immortal so if I wanted too... I could make all my mental stats go from 18 to 21 and have a floating +2. (+3 to all mental stats due to venerable age) If I really wanted to take this to the fondue party.

Also I can play an Azlanti if I wanted (Apparently its going to be a campaign based around finding and bringing back pockets of Azlanti)

Kensai Magus/Sacred Fist.

Spell combat with Blood Crow Strike.

Also, have 22 unarmored AC at first level without buffs on.

EDIT: actually, wait, you only get 1 INT to AC at level 1. Oh well. Still pretty ok.

To be fair we are starting at 5th so I would have the Int to Armor just fine.

This was another reason I was considering the Sacred Fist or Monk//Paladin (Enlightened) Wis, Dex, and Cha to AC.

I am not really wanting to go overboard just something fun and unique with this rare chance.

Also I don't want to reroll, thats like hitting the lottery and saying no thanks I just want another random ticket.

Looking at the four winds I dont see this ability. Care to explain how?
Although Slow Time is a sweet ability.

Roll with a Drunken Master. Trades the redundant Purity of Body and mostly redundant (with those saves) Diamond Body for basically infinite Ki.

Combine with the useful Qinggong powers (High Jump for Scorching Ray and Slow Fall for Barkskin) and you're rockin' already.

Consider combining with Flowing Monk just because Stunning Fist sucks big fat donkey dick or Kata Master because again, Stunning Fist sucks diseased moose wang, and Panache (with opportune Parry and Riposte) is kinda neat to have.

Was that really needed?

Honestly, I'd probably go with something a little handicapping since -- even in a gestalt game starting at level five -- you're going to be leagues better than your companions. It's cool if you don't mind that but I would personally get fairly bored at the thought of always being the guy in the spotlight. Have you considered being an Arcane Duelist for buff spells and perhaps Oracle for a self-debuff?

I'm a "make sure the table is also having fun" kind of player.

I have considered the Bard, I do love them so damn much after all.

But our party is rather small only 3 people.
So I could do that and pick up Buffer and Debuffer but I don't normally handle those roles so much as play Party face and help with DPS.

Monk has Full BAB and you can pick up Crusader's Flurry with Paladin//Monk because Paladin gets Channel Energy.

But lets look at the saves for a moment. All good saves from Monk, +Cha from Paladin.
At level 2 when Divine Grace comes online you are looking at
+4 from Ability +3 from Saves +4 from Cha=11 at level 2 which have very low DC for even Fort saves.
Paladin gives you Divine Health at level 3, Monk gives Purity of Body at level 5 which does the same thing, so it can be traded through different archetypes.
Monk also gives a +2 to enchantment saves, so if your massive Will Save doesn't quite get you there you are basically immune.

Sacred Fist is good for spells though.

Monk//Wizard is interesting and flavorful. Get to close to the wizard and he beats you to death, stay to far away and he gets his spells online. Also with Mage Armor his AC in battle would be 22 at level one which is the same as a barb in full plate with a heavy shield.

All sweet ideas.
That Monk/Paladin idea is more insane with a Kasatha race (22 AC) and able to toss High Jump for something more useful like Scorching Ray or Barkskin.
Not to mention smiting on a monk with a +4 bonus on top of your too hit with level to damage during every hit a flurry is sweet.

I don't know about the Monk Sorcerer, give examples?

A Monk Paladin would be lovely especially if you go enlightened route I think Cha/Wis/Dex to AC.

Any other suggestions?

Well lets get to the heart of the matter, today I rolled my stats for my upcoming campaign. Well I rolled insanely good, and I do mean insanely. I rolled straight 18s, and I did not intentionally fudge my dice rolls.

Yes I know the whole speel about point buy but my DM likes to be old fashioned.

So now I run into the problem of what race to play, and what class would do really well with a set of perfect rolls?

I mean an Azlanti human would give me straight 20s.

This is gestalt game, starting at 5th level. So I can use monster races so long as they do not have more then 5 levels of adjustment.
