Liberty's Edge

I thought the Additional Resources List for Ultimate Combat, under EQUIPMENT, said "The double hackbut and culverin on Table 3-4 and advanced firearms on Table 3-5 and are not permitted in Pathfinder Society Organized Play."

Now it says, "The double hackbut, culverin AND ANY ADVANCED FIREARMS on Table 3-4 and advanced firearms on Table 3-5 and are not permitted in Pathfinder Society Organized Play."

Are some of the other Table 3-4 "Early Firearms" now advanced, and if so, which ones? I just want to make sure I'm not doing anything hinky here.

Thanks.

Liberty's Edge

There's nothing in the special abilities description of Dancing that says it can only be placed on melee weapons. On the other hand, Keen specifies piercing and slashing only; Disruption specifies bludgeoning melee only. Seeking and Returning must be ranged and thrown weapons, respectively. Dancing IS listed under the melee special abilities list, but javelins, tridents, etc. can be thrown AND used in melee. At the very least, I could see the Okay Case 2 option if the wielder spent a standard action one round activating the weapon, then threw it as a standard action the next, even if that counts as one of the 4 rounds of Dancing. Besides, the description says "As a standard action, a dancing weapon can be loosed to attack on its own." "Loosing" is not very specific, and could be interpreted as throwing.

Would a Dancing Returning Seeking Spear be able to make ranged attacks on its own? More specifically, while Seeking says it must be aimed by the wielder, would the Dancing aspect allow it to do this on its own? I know it says that it only attacks adjacent enemies, so I could see it being unable to make additional ranged attacks after the first. And after returning, would the Dancing aspect allow it to attack again the next round, or drop to the ground if not caught, according to Returning?

As I see it, it's either:
Best case - wielder let's it loose with unspecified target, (weapon autonomously seeks on ranged attacks, returns) x 4 rounds, up to 4 different targets, or returns and melees for the remainder of the 4 rounds if no more ranged targets.
Or
Okay case 1 - wielder throws it at one target, (weapon seeks, returns) x 4 rounds on same target, or returns and melees for the remainder of the 4 rounds the original ranged target is either dead or in melee with the wielder.
Or
Okay case 2 - wielder throws it at one target, weapon seeks only once, returns only once, then spends 3 rounds making melee attacks.
Or
Worst case - weapon is thrown, seeks once, returns once, then drops.

Anyone have experience with this?

Liberty's Edge

Hey folks. I've never been to Gencon before. Been to a few comicons and had fun, and if the rpg version of that is anywhere near half the fun, I'm in. I'd like to do some PFS gaming there. I'm having trouble finding details on specifically how to do that. Here's what I'm guessing based on their website:

Jan 23 - buy a badge.
May 17 - search their registered games for PFS games and sign up? Is there a fee for this?
Thanks for setting me straight on this, and looking forward to gaming!
