Venture-Agent, Arkansas—Little Rock

Thanks for the clarification and will continue to sift through Lorespire.

Besides Lorespire, is there another website with a good overview of the Pathfinder Rules for character creation, pathfinder provision, and rewards? To help the players and GM get up to speed.

Thought I read on Lorespire that your character can only be in one season at a time. So, was that a misunderstanding?

Let's start this off, with I'm brand new to paizo organized play and Pathfinder Society 2e. Just ran my first scenario Intro #6-01: Year of Immortal Influence, and looking over the next couple scenarios for this season. Noticed that they #6-03 is for 5th-8th and #6-04 is for 3rd-6th. So, it looks like PFS is setup for "Quests" to be played in between the "Scenarios". Then can I run any of the "Quests" that are level appropriate or is the Series 2 Quests (current #14-20) for this year?

Looking for some guidance on helping the players get leveled up to be able to stay up with this years story plot.

Just got the Playtest Rulebook in the mail today and tonight looking over the "conditions", pg. 256. Noticed that Suppressed condition has a -5 foot penalty to all your speeds. However, in Thurston Hillman's post Field Test #1 Follow-Up Changes ( https://paizo.com/threads/rzs43v1y?Field-Test-1-FollowUp-Changes ). It states, "Increase Suppressed condition speed penalty to -10 feet." Just asking and wondering if the Starfinder Team might provide clarification on which status penalty should currently be applied.

Having -10 foot penalty per action, for a -30 foot penalty to movement that turn. Is far more restrictive than a -5 foot penalty per action.

Let me state I'm sure at some point Paizo will be adding a Playtest Rulebook Errata page added to the Starfinder 2nd edition Playtest FAQ. As additional feedback is provided and changes incorporated into the rulebook. Totally understand the rulebook is going to be constantly evolving over the next year. In addition that some of the changes from previous playtests. May not have been incorporated into the rulebookbook before the printing deadline.

Thanks for the write up, very nice.
Glad to hear you pushed into the range meta as the focus. Curious on the damage output from the range weapons compared to the melee character. Don't think you mentioned the Soldier Fighting Style, but if he took "BOMBARD". Where even on a success to the DC, targets would still have been suppressed or where the targets getting "critical success"? Think that might have made a difference.

On a side note, noticed in the blog update on Field Test #1, Paizo is going to increase the speed penalty to -10 feet.

Also plan on running the Field Test #5 on Friday with a focus on range and look forward to seeing how it goes.

Would have to agree. Since the top range from the weapon in Play Test #1 is 60ft. So, a melee focused player can reach the ranged player in 2-Actions. Then still has an attack action, which probably will do more damage than the ranged weapon.

Let's just look at the scatter gun (real life shotgun). It has a comfortable hunting range of 40 yards, which is 120ft. A melee character would not be able to reach the range player in 1 round. In Field Test #1 the scatter gun has a range of 15ft, or 5yds, which puts you in reach with a single stride action, and has the unwieldy trait. So, unless you take the feat it is just 1 attack for 2-actions. Unless the enemy has an ability that is activated by being adjacent to its allies. Would say you are only going to get a single enemy in the effected area. You might get more damage from taking the multiple attack penalty and make two melee strikes.

If the focus is going to be on ranged weapons. Think the ranged weapons need to have an effective range to keep melee based characters at bay and do more damage on average than a strength based melee attack on a hit.

Another question, in PF2e attacks of opportunity is a class feature or feat. Is that going to be the case in SF2e or will the ranged character still get the attack of opportunity as the melee character moves to engage?
