Complications
Secret: Iz'Kalath does his best to hide his true draconic nature from those he encounters, as he's found from previous encounters that the news doesn't go over well. Add in his incredible vulnerability in his human form (even though much of his draconic resilience carries between forms), and he's not terribly keen on having to fend off dragonslayers when he doesn't have the advantage of having impervious scales.
Temper: Like all dragons, Iz'Kalath isn't exactly patient. He sees dragons as superior to humans (and elves, etc.) in every way. He also prizes his hoard excessively, and woe betide any thief who thinks stealing from a dragon's lair is a good idea. Also, don't insult a dragon. Just don't.
(Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup)
Very Weak to Magic Nullification: Iz'Kalath's entire human form is running on transmutation magic. His senses, immortality (to an extent), defenses, massive size (and corresponding ability to fly) is hyper-concentrated when he sheds his scales, and provides a boundless well of magical energy. It's why, after all, most of the great wizards history were secretly dragons, sometimes having permanently shed their draconic form to enhance their practiced magic. Still, Iz'Kalath hasn't gone that far, and if his form change is ever dispelled, his secret is not only likely to get out, but whoever thought that turning all the magic off would be a good way to deal with a very weak mage is in for a… very rude awakening.

Backstory:

Iz'Kalath hatched merely a century ago, in a hidden lair deep within the Zurtari deserts, to a fairly small brood of three hatchlings, with a sister named Val'Tezthali and a brother named Ta'Xali. Each of the three wyrmlings were fairly typical for their kind, and grew quickly. When they finally were old enough to assume human shape, they discovered their personal magical aptitude. Iz'Kalath proved to be a master of transmutation magic, Val'Tezthali found an aptitude for elemental magics (even beyond that which all dragons held), and Ta'Xali was naturally gifted with mind magic. While all relatively on-par with each other in dragon form (though Val'Tezthali's elemental powers translated well to her draconic shape), this led to a charged rivalry between the three of them to try and become the strongest and prove their form of magic superior. So, they split up, promising that whichever of them mastered magic first would be the winner. Val'Tezthali set off to the north, flying over the sea to distant shored. Xali went into human cities, where there were plenty of minds available. And lastly, Iz'Kalath headed west, largely because he didn't know where else to go. For a time, he worked as an alchemist, but grew bored with the profession after not long. Then, he went to a school of magic, and learned a few tricks there. Recently, he's decided to put his skills to the test, and began looking for an adventuring party, figuring they, if anyone, would be the most likely to push him to grow.

Appearance:

Iz'Kalath is the size of an elephant, with glittering blue scales and massive, leathery wings. A number of crystalline spikes run along his spine, and they crackle with electricity when he prepares to use his breath weapon. His eyes glow with an internal cold fire, and has a few scales engraved with runes (he keeps meaning to magically charge them, but for now they're only decorative).

Powers:

Iz'Kalath has all the standard abilities of his breed: incredible size (though he's far from done growing) and strength, invulnerable hide, shapeshifting, flight, incredible senses, very sharp teeth, and a breath weapon. While he's only mastered lightning breath in a few different forms so far, many great dragons have a whole host of abilities available to them. Still, he spends a good amount of time in his human form and so has far less practice fighting in his natural shape than he probably should.

Mechanical Discussion:

Abilities: Clumsy in human form, and even clumsier when the size of an elephant, Iz'Kalath will never manage to be a ballerina. He also has very little practice fighting as a dragon, preferring instead to let his breath do the job while staying out of the way. He's just as smart as a when a human, though without the spells he uses to enhance his memory, he loses his perfect recall. His draconic senses do allow for him to have a greater awareness of what is going on, but his mind is easier to assault without the aid of his enchanted cloak.

Skills: Without his supplementary divinations filling out his knowledge pool, the only thing Iz'Kalath is formally trained in is magic, but even then never focused too much on the theory (no intensive studying needed for him, after all). Understandably, though, as a dragon, he's pretty scary, and can intimidate foes well even before accounting for his massive size.

Advantages: Though just as rich as when a human, Iz'Kalath could never dare to part with any of his coin for something as base as something not shiny, so doesn't functionally have the resources of his human counterpart. Claws also don't make for very effective fingers to tinker with magical devices, after all. That said, pathetic excuse of a dragon that he is, he can still at least breathe lightning while flying. He's not a total joke, after all.
