Backstory:
Ithiliel, daughter of Aurauth, was born in Eryn Lasgalen nine years after the One Ring was destroyed. Though the time of Eldars was waning, life was still tenacious and brought new seeds on a land that was healing from ages of malice.
After those great events of old and the lessening of perils in Middle-Earth, the relationships between Elves themselves changed and strengthened. From such changes stemmed the marriage of Aurauth, a guard of the Greenwoods, and Lanthiwen, a fair maid from Imladris. They had been in love for a long time, but, when princess Arwen became queen of Gondor, lord Elrond began preparing the sailing to the West, and rather than joining him or just staying in Imladris, she reached her lover.
So, Ithiliel came into Arda and grew in the Greenwods, seeing their old shadows fading and leaving place to ever brighter and awe-inspiring trees and glades. Better yet, as she became of age, she became a scout and guard herself, helping secure the woods and often fighting small groups of Orcs who dared taint the beautiful land.
In her years, she had the opportunity to meet or at least see many of the great heroes of old. Not just her king and prince, Thranduil and Legolas, but also the prince's great dwarven friend Gimli and the great king of Gondor who sometimes stayed as guests in the Halls of Thranduil. With the king of Men was also Arwen Undomiel, whose beauty was said to reflect that of her legendary ancestor, Luthien Tinuviel. No less, during one such visits, Ithiliel had the honor of playing with the child that would have become the current king of the Dunedain, Eldarion.
She was even able to see wise Cirdan the Carpenter, perhaps the oldest of all Eldars to still linger in the East, although her duties kept her afar and only allowed Ithiliel to be present at their departure.
In all her seasons, she not often left elvish territories, and always just out of duty. Some times when tracking orcs with her masters and peers, some others to escort elven traders to Long Lake and the Human city of Dale, and a few even to aid Gondorian forces in pursuit of tainted Men of diverse nature.
This, until notice arrived in Eryn Lasgalen of Eldarion, now ruler of Gondor, wishing to tame the wild South, to forge alliances with any honorable people who dwell there, and to eradicate the dark remnants of the past that seem to loom in that horizon.
King Thranduil was eager to support his young friend Eldarion in his efforts, and also wanted first-hand knowledge of the dangers lurking in the far lands, so he called for any volunteer apt to join the reconnaissance task prepared by Gondor.
Being one of the best scouts in the realm, Ithiliel accepted, eager to see the far and mysterious lands as much as to be of great service to both Elves and Men.
With her parents and an entourage of friends and guards, she travelled to Minas Tirith, where they parted after meeting with the king. It was amusing, for Ithiliel, to think she once played with that noble Man now sitting on the throne... no matter that he couldn't really remember her from their early meeting, as he was too young, Ithiliel still holds a sweet memory of him as a child.
Nevertheless, he gladly accepted her in the embassy, and the still-young Eldar woman embarked on the Moonchaser...
Appearence and personality:
Appearence (Picture)
Tall and slender as expected for an Eldar, Ithiliel hides more strength than her lithe frame suggests. Wrapped in sylvan clothes of brown and green hues, she possesses the beauty of both Imladris' and Lorien's heritage, her eyes of emerald sriking from under the cascade of her long black hair.
From below her hooded green mantle, adorned with silvery patterns of branches and leaves, a sword and a couple of daggers of elvish making can be spotted.
Height: 5'8"; weight: 132 lbs.
Personality
Ithiliel is a warm breeze. She is caring and welcoming, feeling a connection with any good-hearted people.
The fall of the Enemy shortly before her birth made the world a better place, but also marked a heavy change in her people. Their number thinned and thinned, as more left to meet the Powers, and this caused an inner sadness to grow in Ithiliel, in turn leading her to feel very close to any of her brethren and also any good person whose road crosses hers.
As she is older than most dwellers of Middle-Earth, although no more than a child in the eyes of the truly ancient Eldar, she not rarely is led to act like a mother or elder sister, caring and smiling, though some may perceive her as patronizing.
On the other hand, she has first-hand knowledge that the world is far from clean from horrors. Not just those bred in ancient times by the Dark Powers, but also those begotten by mortals, be they corrupted by Shadow or turned evil by greed or fate itself.
For this reason she is wary and always tries to stay keen, and moreover, if she finds herself confronting any who would dare bring forth death and ruin, she can become an unforgiving freezing wind.
