Issil smirks. "He's not exactly my type, unfortunately..." Issil turns to the woman and accepts some candy. "Hmm. Thank you." She accepts exactly one piece.

"The Signet tells me it was a character in her Grandmother's stories. A hero who stood against oppression and tyranny. A real firebrand, that one." She sighs.

Thank you for the reminder, Gameday always gets fussy.

I have 2 GM Glyphs and will offer them to the lowest level PCs so they can get another Hero Point. But it looks like all of us are level 4 right now, so...

Friendly fire is alright as long as it doesn't increase my Dying value.

I mostly play as an alias.

A human woman keeps her cot on the ship neat and tidy. It's important to maintain appearances. It also buys enough leeway to get away with lighting candles below deck.

She yawns and stands on deck. "Are we there yet? The Society said the trip would be brief. My agent will be there when we arrive."

She stretches a bit, a thin layer of steam emerging from her hands. "My name is Issil Telfae. I manage the Carnelian Signet. She's a bit... explosive sometimes."

"Alright, I'll pass these notes along to my associate." Issil pretends to write some notes down. "I'll call her here so she can perform the investigation." She bows to take her leave.

"I feel my Grandmother has spoken of this play. There are many scenes that can be edited or reinterpreted. I've witnessed a few more... intense versions of the The Songbird and the Raven that would not be suitable for children."

"Well then. Maybe we can ask around and get some clues. I'll let my employee do most of the legwork."

"Where are the children practicing?" Issil ponders.

I have 2 glphys to give as Hero Points. I think that means we all start off with 2.

"J Dacilane, we meet again." The Chilexian woman enters fashionably late as usual. Some of the candles flicker as she passes by. "What are the children up to this week?" She nods along with the tale. "Hmm, seems like someone is pulling rather cruel pranks. Let's put an end to that."

She looks to the other Pathfinders. "I am Issil Telfae, pleased to meet you all. I am an investigator by nature, my employee will be here soon to do more of the heavy lifting."

Issil uses an alter ego and has the Quick Disguise feat so she can swap to her alter ego as needed.

Issil recognizes several family traits from some of the Silver Devils and manages to fill in several family trees. Their relatives pay handsomely!

Issil readies her tools, but Fevrik has a better idea.

With her Thieves' Tools, Issil begins to mess with the wire, looking for something to weight it down.

"I used to be much better at this..." Issil stammers when Mitzi gives comfort. "Where is he going? He seems to have a plan." Delta is a man with a purpose, and Issil follows instinctively.

We also have Edge Points to turn Failures into Successes, but I don't know if they can be used on Critical Failures.

Bah! How clumsy!

And now all of these buildings... which one to choose?

"My apologies, I didn't realize you were so... big." Issil ponders at Champion Ra as he leaps around the boards. Such lovely wings.

Honestly, she's jealous at his grace. Like embers in the wind...

"It's not the first I've had to sneak around." Issil grins. "You have quite a throwing arm..." She watches as Mitzi hurls the grappling hook over the wall with ease.

Issil moves up to the guard and "drops" 2 gold pieces. "I was told to relieve ya for the evening. Boss mentioned there was a private party or somethin'. Told me to give you some spending money. Go on, get out and have some fun, you lucky ducks."

Deception + Bribe: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 2 = 17 I'll use an edge point if that fails

No ash. No red. Just worker's clothing. The Carnelian Signet arrives with her Quick Disguise stored safely.

"Just call me Issil." She smiles. "I do wonder what they big meeting they have tonight. If we're lucky they're too drunk to notice us."

She moves to the sculler and drops 2 gold pieces into their hand. "We need an escort to that building over there. Keep it quiet, please."

Perception to hire a boat: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 2 = 23

Rolling Income for the GM.

I know Metal Kineticists can plate weapons in silver and cold iron, but I don't know of any spells that would do the trick.

>Needle Darts< lets you fire chunks of any metal material to exploit weaknesses, but it doesn't augment your weapon.

"Hello Issil. I hope you're doing well since that Aspis Consortium shipment run-in we had. Hello everyone. I'm Cal."

He offers a charming smile.

"Don't remind me. My associate complained about a particularly obnoxious chameleon. Almost ruined her ash makeup."

The champion notices Issil Telfae and gives a short bow, Mi Lady! he says in acknowledgement.

"Greetings. No need to be so formal." She takes another sip from her goblet.

Corona enters and introduces herself in a very friendly manor, and yet so... possessed. Another persona? Issil makes a mental note for later.

"Devil’s Rest serves as an inn and supply station for all manner of travelers. Rumor has it that the name is because it was founded by a Chelaxian noble."

Issil snorts. "It's almost a certainty. There's a sense of irony amongst the nobility to add a Hellish theme to everything they do. Of course, that's the first step towards corruption: letting your guard down." She plops on a chair. When Corona confirms her suspicions, she laughs. "See?"

"Hmmm. Sounds like we're going to scout a site. Er, devils or demons? They are quite different. Devils are tireless workers, while Demons are uncontrolled rage."

She feels a migraine coming on. "A bottle of >silversheen< and >holy water< will prove useful. I'll tell my associate to acquire both. And the two minor >healing potions<, of course."

"At any rate, my associate will meet you at the caravan tomorrow morning. I have to remind her not to drink too much..." she finishes off her goblet.

Issil pauses as Fingo walks up to her and offers a hand. "Greetings, Fingo Canvas." She takes another swig. "Nice shirt."

Huh, I have 2 GM stars. I think I can pass out 2 glyphs? I'll try to confirm that before passing it out.

"Greetings, all of you. With such an assortment of fellows I have to assume you are Pathfinders." She digs up her wayfinder. "I am called Issil. Pleased to meet you." She looks aside to Bruce. "Hmm. My associate performs most of the dirty work. Perhaps you'll see her soon." She takes another swig.

A glyph for the lowest level character... is that me? Uh...

I have taken the >Vigilante< archetype, so I will usually play as my Vigilante persona.

Issil is from Chileax. Her Oracle curse carries flames and her divine connection hints at a devil in her family past.

She also carries the Vigilante archetype, and will most likely move as the Carnelian Signet.

The next day, Issil returns with quite a headache.

"I didn't sleep well last night. I'd blame the onset of demonic evil, but the wine hit me harder."

She finds a place to sit. "The Carnelian Signet sends her best wishes. But after her... celebratory dance, some of the more concerned citizens asked her to be on her way. She's sequestered on the ship in the meantime. At least the crew will appreciate a fine dance." She almost frowns.

"Congratulations to all of you on your efforts. I was able to secure some supply lines and learn more about Nathatel on my own. What a deluded fool... to proud to admit we can learn more by working together."

Issil nearly spits out her drink as the queen reveals herself. "The queen... is here?"

Right. Focus. "I... have a ping from my assistant. I'll pass my notes onto her. Good luck, everyone. I'll secure the pier from here."

She dashes off to an unknown corner of the tent, quickly checks her gear, especially the white powdered ash.

For my own game, I'm going with #1 and #2.

- Ask players to pick their top 3 events
- As soon as 2 people vote, pick the first one they both picked
- Score everyone's other votes
- Once the first event is complete, select the highest-scored event (roll in case of ties)

It's complicated, but it lets players choose while keeping the game moving, since we're always under a time crunch in these specials.

Just to expedite things: If you've played specials before, you know there's a number of events to complete in any order. How do you want to decide how to complete things -- vote among yourselves, dice god, do them in order?

I have a few ideas for this:

1) The first 2 people to agree moves the team to that event (This is the method I've used previously. It avoids indecision because usually at least 2 PCs have an idea. But they may pick different ideas.)

2) Each member ranks their top 3 events and the GM sorts picks the most desired event - #1 pick gets 3 points, #2 gets 2, #3 gets 1. (I'm going to try this out when I run the special. Might be too complicated?)

3) Roll randomly in case of ties/indecision/time (Fastest! Doesn't take players into account)

When I run the special, I'll probably do 1 and 2. Ask people to pick the top 3 events. As soon as 2 of them pick the same event I'll start that, rather than wait for everyone to vote.

"I love your style, Thunders, Truck." A faint trail of smoke puffs from her fingers. "Lightning is beautiful, especially when it strikes and starts a flame."

"But freedom is paramount, no matter the method."

Not I.

Issil mixes up the wordplay in her mind. "Ah, the other type of cleave."

To Graeyson, she smiles. "My assistant is always eager to meet acrobats and deal with some kind of cleavage. A bit too forward, if you ask me. But she enjoys getting her hands dirty."

Elven wine is ever so sweet...

A human Chileax woman in her late 20s kicks her heels over the table. She has the mark of nobility about her, yet the manners didn't follow her.

"I am Issil Telfae. A pleasure." She nods and pulls up another table. "My assistant is around here somewhere, probably procuring more wine. Come, sit, sit."

Hello everyone.

I'm fine with splash damage unless it will KO me, or I am Dying.

GM, this character has the Vigilante Archetype so she has an alternate persona.

Dungeon navigation is usually difficult in PbP. Sometimes when I GM I will get the party to agree on a Standard Operating Procedure, or I'll wait for 2 PCs to pick a direction. Or I'll just go for the nearest door relative to the party. It's hard for players to understand which room is important if they don't know what's behind there first (and they shouldn't know what's behind the door, that's the point of a dungeon crawl.)

Thank you for the great game, GM. It was fun for me to a) post as Issil instead of her alter ego and b) to guide those kids around. Issil is not the motherly type.

(Also it was fun to be the chaos vs Termia's Order again.)

Issil waves goodbye to Termia. "May you rise through the ranks with celerity and diligence!" Or whatever floats your boat.

Issil thinks about a few dances she can do during the party. No, too provocative. No, that's the Carnelian Signet's dance, I can't use that. Oh! This one is perfect!

Producing Flame in her hands, Issil juggles the flames from one palm to the other, kicking up and spinning about in a messy rhythm that keeps the flames relatively still. "The Eternal Candle. A reminder that no matter how annoying the world becomes, your impetus- your flame- can never be extinguished."
