Could I join after my finals are done with? 7th of June is when I finish and then I can actually go on the internet for more than 20 minutes in a day.

Invar notices Fharalkakhad's hand motions and moves to stand in front of the stairs arms crossed and spade resting in the crook of his elbow. With his arms crossed he palms two of the shuriken hidden in his forearm, ready to launch them at the first person to attempt to pass him. Preparations made Invar stands stock still and the glow in his eyes dims slightly as he settles into the familiar role of bodyguard.

Invar moves through the crowds next to Fharalkakhad using his extra height to scan the bustling people for any interesting or unusual sights. He uses the spade as a walking stick, tapping the weighted end to the ground with each step.

Did you have to get one of those navy ships home? That would've been an interesting experience.

Invar reaches into his pack and pulls out a hand full of gleaming metal stars, dropping them into the same compartment in his forearm that holds the badge. He swings his pack onto his back and taps the weighted end of his spade on the deck to indicate his readiness.

Invar took the proffered badge and looked for a place to put it. After a frustrated few seconds he gave up and flipped open one of the hiden compartments in his forearm, dropping it in before collecting his spade and bag. "Is it normal for the wealthy in Stormreach to need quite so much security?"

"I am, I was created by the Haztaratainian monks and instructed in the Path of Light. I am sorry if I am too forward, but are you Kalashtar by any chance? I have met few of my creators kin on my travels and it would be good to know I was working with a fellow follower of the path."

"I myself was created after the thronehold treaty was signed, but far from Khorvaire so I am not sure the rules of the treaty apply. Anyway, I am sure Il Yannah would not have lead me to join a company with bad intentions."
Invar stopped for a second, considering the implications of possibly setting himself against an authority like the rulers of Sharn before continueing carefully.
"As for any possible conflict with authorities in Sharn. I have no affiliation with the city or the country in general and as I have just signed an agreement with Darkstar company I see it as my duty to defend my new team mates and superiors to the best of my ability against any threat."

"I had heard that rumours that xen'drik held some ancient giant designed components, to tell the truth they were my main reason for signing on with Darkstar. As for darkstar producing warforged, I see no problem... bit hypocrtical if I did."

Invar stands and stretches with a few satisfying popping noises from his joints.
"How long will this expedition be? And if we do not meet the same fate the gnome indicated that our predecessors met and return from the expedition will further employment be available?"

I'm going to be travelling for the next few days so I don't think I'll have internet access. Sorry for the short notice.

Invar scans the contract rapidly before signing it and handing it back to the gnome. The seemingly low pay did not overly worry him as he had very little use for the money anyway. It did not seem like something that should be mentioned around employers and colleagues so he quietly took a seat in between two bunks and set allowed his glowing eyes to dim as he looked inward and began meditating.

"I won't take up a bed either, just need a space to store my things."

Invar vaguely waves his spade and shakes the small rucksack on his back in an attempt to show how lightly he travels.

A second flash delivers a warforged covered in gleaming ceramic plates to the top of the tower. It spends a few moments examining its surroundings, its glowing eyes lingering on the magnificent ship before focusing on the small group ahead of it.
It steps forward and nods in greeting to the group before introducing itself.

"I apologise for my tardiness, I was accosted by the local youths in the market. My title is Invar, I have been contracted as part of the away team for the Darkstar One."

Invar notes a few remaining smears of charcoal from where the local urchins had spent a happy few minutes scrawling obscenities all over his body and wipes them away with the edge of his cloak, amused at the strange things children did.

Argh! I have been internetless for the last 10 days. Some berk smashed his car into the phone line junction box thing at the end of the road and ripped it right out. So yeah, no internet and no phone. But I am back and I have a big wall of text that is most of a background.

The rest being that basically Invar gets to Sharn, pretty much decides that going back to Krona Peak seems kinda pointless as sharn is far more interesting and also has a small population of warforged and Kalashtar. He gets in contact with said population and is informed about the wonders of Xen'drik. Forgotten lore on the creation of warforged, thinks he may find the solution to the bonding of a quori spirit with a warforged body and then can return it to the Haztaratain monks to help them fight the Inspired, thus furthering his main goal in life. So he seeks employment as a guard on Darkstar company ship and there we go.

I am totally still here, just lame at finishing things for deadlines.

Yeah I'm still here, I just find backgrounds difficult to write so its been taking me a while. Invar'll almost certainly be a new addition to the crew, having joined mostly just to get to Xen'drik. I'll finish his background today.

Ooh, artificer. Might have to rethink blowing 5/6 of my starting gold on a warforged repair kit. Oh also, stats done. Writing out the background, description in notepad now and I'll add it in a little while.
