About Iniga v'BredaCrunch:
Iniga v'Breda
Backstory:
Iniga was born to the v'Breda - an old Ifrit family that many years ago used to be in charge of vast swathes of grain land but eventually lost favor, prestige, and power after land mismanagement, as a serious grudge with a Temple official. the v'Breda family had had a strong history of joining the army, in an attempt to win back power and prestige, although such attempts were still ongoing. Therefore, at an early age, Iniga was trained in the art of combat, training to fight hard and without mercy, to prepare herself for the darkspawn. As soon as she grew of age, Iniga left to join the Skald College in Forge, the Duello Poeti, the school for battle duelists. While training, Iniga quickly formed an unlikely friendship with a female Sylph named Alizeh, who helped keep Iniga's (somewhat infamous) temper in check. Iniga meanwhile, helped Alizeh with her weapon training, the two of them forming a neat combat team while at the school. The fact that her friend was a Sylph didn't matter at all to Iniga, who treated her friend like she would anyone else, but she was aware that some of her older classmates were not as understanding. Iniga couldn't quite understand why Alizeh was the last to be picked for teamwork exercises, or the insults hurled in her friends direction. She wondered if it was because some of her classmates felt threatened, or thought that a non ifrit's presence was somehow weakening the Army - although Iniga couldn't quite understand how that would work. Alizeh herself grew worried, especially when the insults began to get nastier and more personal, but Iniga told her friend not to worry, that eventually her classmates would see the strengths that Iniga could see in her own friend. One evening, Iniga couldn't locate her friend at dinner time. She went looking, and found Alizeh in the sparring pit, surrounded by a few older classmates, who we casually beating the sylph. Iniga was so overcome with rage, that her red hair burned like white hot flame. She fought with ferocity, and grace, and above all, with honor. Her fellow classmates did not. Iniga was swiftly disarmed and beaten, and then watched, unable to do anything while her friend was hit over and over again. Alizeh left the Army the next day. Iniga tried to find her friend in Light, to speak to her, to apologize, but her friend refused to even see her, let along talk to her. Feeling guilty, Iniga headed home for a small break from her studies, hoping to talk to her family during a time where she needed support. Her mother was wonderful, promising that they would find a way to patch things up with Alizeh, and that Iniga had nothing to feel guilty about - she had tried her best. Her mother even mentioned trying to speak to her own sister Colleen about the situation. Despite this, Iniga did not find any support from her father, like she had expected and hoped for. Her father seemed happy, even pleased that Alizeh had left the Army, and even reprimanded Iniga for choosing to have a Sylph as a close friend. Horror-struck, and upset that a smart part of her own family shared the extreme views that Iniga hated so much, she lashed out the only way she knew how - she left the Duello Poeti - purely to spite her father. Secretly however, she was recruited, and joined the secret skald college known as the Red Tongues, a clandestine skald faction that kept a close eye on relationships between the four major races, as well as the dynamic between the Church and Army factions seeking to influence each other. Iniga swore to use her position to eventually improve the quality of life Sylph's had under the majority ifrit population, but also changed her battle style as well after her humiliating defeat. No more would she fight with honor, she would fight dirty, brutal, often without mercy. She didn't care anymore about how she won anything, just that she won - in absolute terms. Iniga augmented this new philosophy by dabbling in poisons to better disable her opponents - less honorable perhaps but Iniga no longer cared. She wanted to make changes in the major cities, and the darkest parts of her didn't really care how. To show her dedication to her new organisation, Iniga adopted swirling golden tattoos along her arms, shoulders and torso. The tattoos could glow during times where Iniga let her anger get the better of her, but she could also dim them if she needed to be covert. The tattoos themselves (from the parts that people could see) looked like some sort of secret script but what relevance it might have meant to Iniga or indeed, the Red Tongues remained a mystery. Her new role kept her busy for many years, travelling between Forge, Hearth and Light. Iniga never visited her family, effectively shunning her father, although she would occasionally send discrete messages to Colleen, who could then pass them onto her mother, letting her know that she was, at least, still alive. Defeating weakened darkspawn, wild animals, and the odd bandit meant that Iniga never lacked for a dull moment, but more recently she had been hopeful about the upcoming
Appearance and Personality:
Iniga has pale, almost ash white skin, with long flowing red hair and golden eyes. Her pale skin as marked by a crisscross of swirling gold tattoos, that clearly go underneath her clothing but as nevertheless visible on her upper shoulders and arms. Strikingly attractive, Iniga usually prefers gold colored attire in more public situations, switching to smoke black attire when trying to blend into shadow. The skald usually has a greatsword slung across her back, and occasionally a chain shirt under her clothing in potentially dangerous situations. Iniga has perhaps an infamous temper, something she still struggles to master as losing it was rarely a good idea in her new role. She is smarter now, and attempts to resolve things diplomatically first and foremost. She doesn't take kindly to insults however, and when riled, she is a sight to behold with flaming hair and flaring gold tattoos. Despite her fierce persona on the battlefield, Iniga is very kind, always seeking to lend a hand wherever she can, and always tries to treat all individuals fairly. She's politically savvy, and is a very passionate individual, especially about her aspirations to move into politics in future to better improve the quality of life for the inhabitants of Light, Forge and Hearth. NPC's:
-Iniga's best friend during her skald academy days was Alizeh - her Sylph friend. Unfortunately, due to post events, Alizeh will no longer see or speak to Iniga and resides in Light, having left the army after being beaten by her classmates. Iniga believes Alizeh won't see her because she is being blamed, and feels guilty and therefore avoids Alizeh's home, wanting to patch things up but unable to face things. Unknown to Iniga however, Alizeh bears no ill will towards her friend, who took a beating trying to protect her. Instead, Alizeh left the Army to protect her friend - worried that Iniga would suffer due to their close friendship. -Seethe is Iniga's current best friend within the army. Her real name is Adria, but only brought it up once, so out of respect, Iniga uses her friends preferred name. Seethe was the name she coined by triggering her aggressive fighting style. It was this fighting style that Iniga later adapted into her own music . Seethe is tall and broad, very strong. Her coloring is classic ifrit - red skin and orange hair with eyes like starfruit. She tries to stay away from physical expression, but occasionally will clap someone on the shoulder or bring them in for a one-armed hug, etc, if someone told a funny joke, etc. She stayed on in the Army even after Iniga left, and has had two more runs on the Fronts which have left her a little worse than before. The Iniga remembered her friend looking rather handed, and laughed less often. She tries heavily to get Iniga back into the army but Iniga has politely refused, not wanting to go back after Alizeh. Seethe doesn't always take these conversations and answers very well, but at least accepts Iniga's decision.
