The clan leader is greatly impressed by your words (and demeanor).
"We...We...know the forest? We could help? Yes! We will come!"
He squawks a dozen commands to his people, who scramble out of their huts in surprise.
After a few more strong words from the chieftain, they slowly start packing their few belongings in primitive bags, and the move towards the river, ready to follow their leader to their new home.

The departure of White Owl passes through the camp like wildfire, if the yelps of grief and soft muttering you hear in the trees are any signal.

"It is as we feared. We are doomed."

It turns out that White Owl provided basic medical assistance to the primitive people, some survival training, and engineering advice on building treehouses. Her healing magic earned White Owl her exalted status.

You and your minions can easily provide the services these primitives require.

Sense Motive DC12:
Question is, what's the gain?

The lizardmen are sad and desperate. More and more emerge from the woods and look to you for support.

The trek to the lizards is uneventful - Grumblejack scares pretty much everything away.
You find the Hazorzaht people going about their business, roasting a large fish over a fire.

I'd like to try and head back to horn soon, so we can regroup and focus on the problem Cala has identified.

Just past noon, you arrive near a lake. Talon and Cale look at eachother and nod silently - yup, this is where we were a few days ago; and there is the lair of the dire tiger.

The lizardmen who led you here stop suddenly, and speak, hesitantly:

draconic:
"You seek White Owl. Please, we need Wise White Owl help, too?"

They point towards the tiger's den.
draconic:
"We bring you to her. Theere - White Owl lives. "
As politely as they can, they ask you not to keep this white owl to yourselves.

well, here you are; back at the tiger's den. There's no trace of the animal. The lizardmen were clever enough to approach against the wind - meaning the wind is blowing in your face, so the Tiger can't smell you from its lair. How do you proceed?

"perhaps we might work together."

The elder lizard visibly relaxes.

"good!"
He orders his kin to bring out some food. Slowly, the lizardfolk return about their normal business.

"At dawn, we show you where She was."

Most of the meal turns out to be fruit and fish, but all of it is bitter and, frankly, disgusting.

--- fast forward to the next morning ---

Two of the bravest warriors stand ready outside your huts. They point at more of the disgusting fruit and nervously, impatiently, hobble nearby until you indicate you are ready to go.

They take you along a path, into the jungle; clearly you're heading in the direction you were already planning to go. However, the lizards of the Hazorzaht lead you along a hidden(*) undergrowth highway, which is a far quicker route than your original plan.

(*)well, hidden until Grubmlejack comes through, that is. where a path once lied, now is a full-blown road XD

"Her position is not known to us," Sindran acknowledges. "We seek her as well."

The Elder Lizard nods.

"Then, you may rest here, for the night."

sense motive DC15:
That's actually surprisingly clever of the old toad; if you wanted to camp here, you were going to, anyway. Probably at the expense of several dozens of his kin.
Instead, he offered you a place to camp before you could even ask, establishing his leadership position and, potentially, keeping everyone alive.

What villagers remain outdoors cower before you. Your direct approach seems to match the village elder's expectations; he isn't hazed much.

"I know you have powers. Like Her."

He points his twisted walking stick to one of the trees.
It shows another white blob, and two white stripes point upwards. A yellow-and-black triangle with one white dot sits next to it. A green blob flows from the white blob over a whole bunch of white-and-black blobs.

"Do you know where She is? We would speak to her again."

The pale-skinned lizardfolk scurry away from the campfire in their 'main square' and the dots on their skin serve very well as camouflage. There could easily a hundred more of them hiding in the foliage.
Around you, you see a few dozen huts connected by bridges. Any of the huts would provide fairly comfortable sleeping quarters for one of you.
All of the adult lizardfolk carry a spear *chuckle* or a club *giggle*. A few are holding an instrument of sorts, that couldn't possibly serve as a weapon, except maybe to confuse opponents away.

All of the trees carrying a treehouses have been painted.
The biggest tree shows an image of a tall white triangular blob next to a low, flat orange-and-black blob. The orange blob has a single white dot at the front.

Any of you can tell that these children's scrabblings represent the bleak-skinned lizardfolk trapping some form of cattle, throwing rocks on their prey's head, and roasting chunks of them over a fire. The orange-black rectangle could represent old One-Eye the dire tiger, but you have no idea who the tall person in white next to it could be.

int 14:
Perhaps One-Eye is a druid's animal companion? But then, who's the druid? and where is he? Wouldn't he have shown up at the horn by now?[/dice]

Only one lizardman remains near the fire; and that's partly because he's too old, too fat and too slow to run away, and partly because his eyes betray a wisdom that can only mean that he's the go-to guy in this town.
