The problem i have had with this new book is the content for making a character is so scattered and the terminology is so hard to find. To find what a Trained skill even was took me 3 hours of reading. Unlike the old book were is i had a question of figuring how skill rules worked like TRAINED and UNTRAINED should have a bold section in the skill section of the book explain what they are and what it means to be trained in a skill do i get a bonus for being trained in a skill or no. Also better explain what signature skills are ALOT better and what it means to explain. The writing in the book on character creation is so scattered and explains things terrible. In the beginning of the book should not explain what you can and cant do with things or give examples or what you can do with those skills or abilities. The beginning of the book for character creation should just tell you what boxes to check for what ancestor and class you are playing and if you have questions about your class like for example what happens to skills as you lvl you should have a bold section under the skills tabs that explain what happens to skills as you lvl and so on and so forth. Ill add more as i read the book more. What I would like to see from the book is anyone can pick up this book with little to no or even lots of experience with pen paper rpg and be able to read over the beginning of the book and have to problems with making a character and CLEARLY understanding the terminology which is not what it happening with this book right now. Alot of people are sitting and scratching there heads and getting frustrated with what even to do and what everything even means

Here is the thing you can make a trip attack in place of melee attack. At lvl 6 I will have 2 melee attacks. What is stopping me from using the other as a vital strike

At lvl 6 when I receive my 2 attacks as a fighter. Can I make a trip attack and a vital strike back to back. Also can I add vital strike damage to sundering a weapon.

So i decided to do my first roll20 game!! With a new baby in the house its a bit difficult to leave to actually do any table top play. I also decided i would like to run rise of the runelords since i have all the books and content for it. I purchases the map pack in PDF form thinking i could drag and drop all my maps and save me tons of time on gming. Im not very computer savy, but all the map images seemed to be locked some how. I tried converting the whole pdf into jpg but all that came out was snap art and no maps. If anyone has any tips or ways i can use the pdf map pack on roll20 that would be awsome!!

J-gal, i understand the problem you are having and have had it myself . Im actually getting ready to run rise of the runelords anniversary edition this weekend., and all i did was limit my players to the core rule book and the players guide for rise of the ruin lords. To solve the problem of having players walk into towns with out of ordinary common races. My explination to my players is that the local populace wouldnt react well to any other race than the common ones. Hope this helps and good luck

Wanted to let people know that pathfinder society is in full swing in Yuba City Ca. I do know that even with all the posters and warhorn advertising i do know that i am not reaching all the players i could be. Just wanted to throw out there that it would be nice to see a scenario made for exploring a haunted mansion with a undead graveyard and undead gillman in the swamps and werewolves. Along with mummys and vampires and possibly frankenstien. Making it a 3 part like rats of the round mountain or a modual where you need to save a town in nidal because a lord of a castle has come to posses some crazy artifact that turns the people into his servants. You need to march yourself threw marshlands and you encounter some creators along with the fishman for part one. then you make it threw the swamps to the mansions crypt where u face undead of difrent types and a werewolf. Then you must make it threw the castle and face off against vampires, undead, and other horrors that clerics and pallys wont just troll threw. Just a suggestion for a sanctioned PFS modual or scenario series. Also would like to see more moduals with mythical creators, seems to me that gming and playing that a good chuck of scenarios and moduals are very human enemy based. Would definetly like to see some more mythical creature face offs!!

well thats a bit of a bumber since i wanted to make a paladin with a two handed hammer, and all of them have reach on it. any advice?

My question is and i have looked threw the core book and didnt find it. Can i use a weapon that has reach on it 5ft away or do i only have to use it 10ft?

I am sure this question has come up in the past, but couldn't find anything on the message board. With factions missions prity much going away with season 5 coming out do you still need to do the faction missions in season 0-4 to get your PP?

My other question is if they fail to identify it. Is the potion or scroll a dead iteam?

So a part of pc's justed finishdd combat and want to loot the bodies. They roll a perseption check to see what they find. There is a potion a scroll and misc gear, do the players then detect magic to tell that the potion and scroll are magical then roll a spell craft check. This is the interesting part, if ghey fail their spell craft check on the potion can they use the alch skill to identify or can they try the potion and make a perseption check to see the affects of the potion?

Since a dwarf is one of the shorter classes, when he plants his tower shield and engages full cover. Can a ally that is taller attack over the shield to hit a enemy with the enemy who might be taller than the dwarf not attack.
