As if by magic the Knights word boom around the space with power and doom.

Terrified by the uncanny effect of faerie magic amplifying Sir Alphonse's words, and gushing ichor from agonizing wounds, the devils' evident commander quakes and trembles! He cries out in anguished fear and shame and tries to greater teleport for his wretched life!

Caster level 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (10) + 22 = 32 successfully casts defensively...

*BAMF!!* All that remains of the horned devil now is a black sulfurous cloud that quickly dissipates!

Ouch! 166 total damage after Johann's bite!

Johann Kaltgeboren- Cobra! wrote:

I swear I attacked 2 days ago but my post must have been eaten. drat and darn!

154 hp

Johann continues to attack whoever it is he is in range off, preferably the horned devil.

[dice=Bite Attack 1 & damage]d20+22; 3d6+12+2d6
[dice=Bite Attack 2 & damage]d20+22-5; 3d6+12+2d6
[dice=Bite Attack 3 & damage]d20+22-10; 3d6+12+2d6

Johann's first bite hits dealing 30 more damage. The subsequent bites gnash ineffectually against the devil's hide.

Johann chomps down on the cornugon's dense red flesh, and it screams in pain! YYyyeEouch!

The horned devil claws at Sir Alphonse!

1d20 + 24 ⇒ (10) + 24 = 34 deals 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (5, 3) + 10 = 18 slashing!

1d20 + 24 ⇒ (7) + 24 = 31 deals 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 5) + 10 = 19 slashing!

Ludocorvus bites at the paladin!

1d20 + 24 ⇒ (14) + 24 = 38 deals 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (6, 4) + 10 = 20 damage!

Hrm. My last post got eaten. I was wondering why there hadn't been any updates.

"Ihrin and Mwikali need help! Can You and Fox try and get them free?" Alphonse addresses Johann, then turns his attention to smashing down the biggest threat keeping him pinned down: Ludicorvus.

Using my...last Smite I think? I'm not sure how long this day has been.

[dice=SMITEO]1d20+23+7
[dice=Damage]2d4+21+28

[dice=Attack 2]1d20+18+7
[dice=Damage]2d4+21+14

[dice=Attack 3]1d20+13+7
[dice=Damage]2d4+21+14

If a 36 misses and a 40 hits, add +14 damage to the last attack since it will be the first one that hits.

Sir Alphonse's three smiting strikes rock the towering horned devil! It screams in blood curdling agony and anguish! GGRRRRAAAAAAARRRGGHH!!!

136 total damage to Ludocorvus! Youch!

Ludocorvus the horned devil roars in diabolical rage, and seems bent on destroying Sir Alphonse, hated instrument of EL SHADDAI, Scythe of the Living God...

Claw 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (16) + 24 = 40 slashes Sir Alphonse for 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (3, 3) + 10 = 16 damage!

Claw 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (14) + 24 = 38 slashes Sir Alphonse for 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (5, 2) + 10 = 17 damage!

Bite 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (1) + 24 = 25 misses Sir Alphonse!

Tail sting 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (12) + 24 = 36 pierces Sir Alphonse for 2d4 + 5 ⇒ (4, 4) + 5 = 13 damage!

The cornugon Ludocorvus snarls an evocation and gestures with a great claw to lay a bolt of lightning across a line that catches Cobra Johann and Sir Alphonse... Lightning bolt deals 10d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 2, 1, 3, 3, 5, 6, 1, 6) = 32 electricity, or half on a successful DC 19 Reflex save...

The chief of the defenders of Nero's phylactery here gathered is a cruel cornugon, Ludocorvus. He sneers in utter disdain at the Mighty Ones, but his amber eyes blaze with purest hatred at Sir Alphonse Veritas...

Telepathically to all of the Mighty Ones, he gives a sarcastic welcome: So, you have made it at last! Now, our little party can begin!

The horned devil replies in a deep, diabolical voice...

Infernal:
Yes, fool, of course! But do not engage them yet... Why risk devils when we can send the demons to take the brunt of their power, and soften them up?

The devils all laugh cruelly...

In a square tower atop the keep, a large, scaly red devil with wickedly barbed tail, clawed hands and feet, bat-like wings, and a pair of long black horns crowning its hideous head peers into a cauldron filled with the blood of human sacrifices...

An image, as seen through the glowing ruby "eyes" of the obsidian idol of Lucifer down in the entrance hall below, appears on the surface of the blood in the cauldron; an image of a giant cobra nudging the front door open...

The devil gestures to several other lesser devils in the chamber, which gather close around the blood-filled cauldron to look at the intruders entering below...
