When the party contacts Historia-7 to report that they have acquired the file, she nods. "Well done. I am glad I don't have to correct any of your work; this is not always the case with new recruits. You don't need to deliver the file in person; I have a secure line you can upload it to."

"I am sending you a package. Consider it to be a reward for your services. It will arrive by robot courier shortly."

A rudimentary courier robot greets the PCs sometime between the completion of this mission and the start of the next. It presents the PCs with a gift box containing a standard datajack and 200 credits. A simple electronic message from Historia-7 indicates that the datajack is a token of thanks from the Dataphiles. The box also contains a frostbite-class zero rifle. The rifle is an old—albeit out-ofplace—acquisition of Ceren’s that Jubair found while cleaning out the family house.

Only one mission left: the Wayfinders.

Okay, moving ahead.

"Very well. Here is the address that was used to make the download. The hacker may or may not still be there. Since there seem to be no questions, I will wish you good luck. Remember, others are also looking for this information. You have a head start... do not waste it."

"So you want us to find this hacker before corporate security, get whatever data they stole, and if possible, recruit them. Seems straightforward enough."

"Yes, that is correct."

"By the way, Zigvigix asked us to give you this." Senko hands one of the Star Sugar Heartlove!!! albums to Historia-7.

Historia-7 looks at the album, and then looks up to stare at Senko.

Sense Motive DC 11:
Her expression is unreadable.

...

Sense Motive DC 16:
Nope. Still completely unreadable.

She continues to stare...

Sense Motive DC 21:
Was that... ? Nope, still nothing.

...

Sense Motive DC 26:
She blinked! Does that mean something? ...well, probably not.

"Very well. I will enter it into the archives." She picks up the album and places it in her desk.

“Greetings, Starfinders,” she says calmly. “I am Historia-7. If you are seeking a mission from me, please be aware that my request requires both discretion and speed. Do not accept it if you feel incapable of working within these parameters.

“I discovered someone recently hacked into Bluerise Tower’s computer systems and stole a large amount of sensitive data from the resident corporations. I wish to be privy to this information. I managed to trace the hacker’s location through many proxies and erased the trail so that station and corporate security should be delayed in their pursuit. This deception will not fool them for long, so you must move quickly to retrieve the data before they can recover it. I will leave you to decide what to do with the hacker afterward, but should it be feasible, I believe that person would be an asset to the Society.”

“Here are the co-ordinates for the location the hacker used to make this infiltration,” Historia-7 says, as a file appears in your inbox. “There is no guarantee however that the hacker has remained at this locale.” It shows coordinates that are in a residential district of the nearby Drifter's End neighbourhood.

Culture DC 10:
Drifter's End is a nearby district in the Ring that serves primarily as temporary residences for travelling spacers and visitors to the station. The bars and other social venues are a common place to hire spacers, scouts, and explorers for jobs abroad.
Bluerise Tower is another building within the ring that boasts a number of corporate offices.

Culture DC 15:
Bluerise Tower is unusual in that many of the corporate facilities in the building have extraterritorial status, meaning that the tenant corporations are a law unto themselves within the building, and even the Stewards must generally obtain permission from the tenants before entering.

Soon the group returns to the Lorespire complex to report back in to Historia-7. They soon arrive at the Archives for debriefing.

"The file seems to be the genuine article and is intact," says Historia 7. "And the human woman Ceren seems like she may be a useful contact for us in the future, even if she is not fit for duty as a Starfinder field agent."

"The file was pulled from a data network that links several of the corporate headquarters at Bluerise Tower. It looks like it was in some kind of message buffer in transit between several offices, so I can't be sure yet which corporation was behind those mercenaries you found. But whoever it was tagged the file with a tracer worm as Ceren stole it. There was nothing you could have done to prevent that since it happened before we were even on the case. The gangster's phone had instructions to identify Ceren and then bring her in alive. The mail address that they were supposed to respond to after they apprehended her is already defunct."

"It is good to see that we are getting new recruits that are not completely incompetent. I appreciate your assistance and it seems I will have to fix only some of your work."

Sense Motive DC 15:
This is actually high praise for Historia. She seems relatively impressed.

"On the table behind you there is a box. Its contents are yours, for a job well done. Consider them a token of appreciation from the Dataphiles."

The box contains a standard datajack and 200 credits. There is also a note that the operation to install the datajack can be done in the medical ward of the Lorespire complex.
