SPECIAL ABILITIES:
Alchemy +7 (Su) +7 to Craft (Alchemy) to create alchemical items, can Id potions by touch. Bottled Ooze The alchemist has learned how to preserve a sample of oozes in a sealed bottle, which he can prepare for use as an extract. When the alchemist activates the extract, he actually throws the bottle at a square within 30 feet, releasing the ooze, which Concentrate Poison (Su) Combine two doses of same poison into one dose with +50% freq and +2 DC. Must be used within 1 hr. Infusion Create an extract can be used by anyone but takes up a slot until used. Master Alchemist You may create 5 doses of poison in the time it would normally take to create one, and may create alchemical items 10x as fast. Poison Conversion Convert poisons to a different type. Poison Use You do not risk poisoning yourself accidentally while poisoning a weapon. Promethean Disciple (Su) You can craft constructs by way of alchemical research rather than arcane magic. Sticky Poison (5 uses) (Su) Poison on weapon lasts for an additional 5 strikes. Swift Alchemy (Ex) Construct alchemical items in half the normal time. APPEARANCE:
Harolde is past the first blush of youth; long nights in the laboratory have weakened his eyes so that spectacles are needed, his blond hair is beginning to thin up top. Still, he's reasonably attractive, and neither in nor out of shape. He dresses well, in the upper-class manner he's worn all his life, although his sense of fashion tends to be a year or two behind. BACKSTORY:
The Lakotos family have long enjoyed a place among the Caliphas bourgeois. While not nobility- yet- they control extensive shipping and trade markets, giving them an upscale life only slightly below the uppermost tier of society. Harolde, as a child of the family, was expected to do the usual: attend university, make a respected name for himself, marry well, and settle in to a life of leisure. University happened, at least. Harolde's brilliant mind earned him entry into the prestigious Quarterfaux Archives. He had a talent for science and alchemy, and was on his way to graduating with honors. And then he fell in love. Durril Uwanowich was a day laborer and itinerant traveler who Harolde met by chance while out on the tow celebrating the end of a semester. While at first their relationship might be regarded as both parties using one another– Hardole seeing Durril as an introduction to an entertaining world he'd never known, Durril seeing an opportunity to spend Harolde's money–it grew deeper and more real, surprising family and friends of both men. In particular, Harolde's father had strong opinions on the relationship, berating Harolde for stepping down in the world, as it were–after all, social climbing was the prerogative and responsibility of the Lakotos family. The fight grew heated, and Harolde angrily claimed he would forswear his family if needs be. The fight was never decided in favor of either father or son–soon after that, Durril died in a bar fight. Harolde suspects, but has never been able to prove, that his father paid the bravos that killed Durril. After that, though, he quietly settled into his studies, seeming for all the world like a cowed academician, even continuing his education to pursue a graduate course. In reality, he was advancing his learning so as to do one thing: to bring Durril back. A sample of Durril's blood was all he had to work with, so he supplemented his efforts with alchemical essences and, when necessary, graverobbing. Finally, he had put together a body of flesh, reagents, and clockwork that, both through design and some sculpting of features, came close to resembling Durril's form. Putting all of his fringe knowledge and research to the test, he subjected 'Durril' to an experimental treatment and–success! His love breathed again. The vague looks of confusion in Durril's eyes when Harolde describes their past together go unnoticed. The changes in personality, even that fact that ultimately 'Durril' is possibly nothing but an extension of Harolde's own will, all these get rationalized away. All Harolde knows is that his one true love walks again, and this time he will allow nothing to take him away. Durril:

Power Attack -2/+4 You can subtract from your attack roll to add to your damage. Sympathetic Alchemy (Su) Your homunculus can benefit from your extracts as a construct or humanoid.
