About Harker Crux

Born in the Brevoy capital of New Stetven, Harker Crux was a pious and studious boy who grew into a strong young man. He swore himself to Iomedae's service and dedicated himself as a hunter of the undead. Passing part of his time doing research and the rest hunting in the field in Ustalav, Harker had a few minor successes until a raid on a vampire's keep went wrong. He doesn't talk about what happened inside that bleak Ustalav castle, but since then has roamed the world, driven by a burning passion to learn the weaknesses of the living dead and destroy them.

Harker is of about average height and well-built, with short black hair and a carefully trimmed goatee. His eyebrows are moderately thick and his nose somewhat prominent, though neither is out of the ordinary.

Usually Harker wears a suit of half-plate armor, containing a breastplate over a chain shirt, heavy leather boots, chain greaves with plate on the front, metal gauntlets and a simple open helm. Over his breastplate he wears a white tabard emblazoned with the sword of Iomedae, a symbol he also wears on a chain around his neck.

In combat Harker swings a large, cold iron warhammer and wards off blows with a large kite shield also painted with the Iomedan symbol. Outside of combat, he frequently can be found doffing his helm in favor of a pair of reading spectacles as he delves into a scholarly work.

His manner is almost always polite and restrained, though he can be insistent -- sometimes fiercely so -- on certain issues. Speaking in Taldane, his native Hallit accent is notable, particularly when pronouncing words with "w," "y" and "th" sounds in them.
