Unique (crafted) magic item:
A tiny coiled serpent crafted from silver, this ring is sized to fit a daithe (inner ear) piercing. Whenever a language-using creature wihin hearing of the wearer utters a phrase beginning 'I wish...' or similarly phrases a desire in any language, the snake whispers a translation of that desire to the wearer, in the wearer's native tongue. On command, three times per day, the earring can supplement its translation abilities, acting as a comprehend languages spell for thirty minutes. This translation only applies to spoken languages, the earring does not translate text. While the wearer can comprehend anything the earring translates, it provides him with no means to speak the language himself.
