About Gurrr Blaktalonracial abils: size small, speed 30 -2 str, +4 dex, -2 cha 60' darkvision sneaky rider +4 ride, +4 stealth traits: color thief: +2 stealth scarred by space pirates: +1 melee vs humanoids Finding Your Kin Benefit The chosen class is always a favored class to you, and your dedication to it is such that every time you take a level in the class, you gain +1 hit point and 1 additional skill point over and above what you would normally gain. If multiple PCs take this trait, they should be siblings who were both protected and raised by the chosen NPC. Creepy (drawback) Bane: You suffer a -1 trait penalty when you use Bluff or Diplomacy on a character that is (or could be) sexually attracted to you, and a -1 trait penalty to the save DC of any language-dependent spell you cast on such characters or creatures. feats: roll with it Benefit: If you are struck by a melee weapon you can try to convert some or all of that damage into movement that sends you off in an uncontrolled bouncing roll. To do so, you must make an Acrobatics check (DC = 5 + the damage dealt from the attack) as an immediate action. If you succeed in this check, you take no damage from the actual attack but instead convert that damage into movement with each point equating to 1 foot of movement. For example, if you would have taken 6 points of damage, you would convert that into 6 feet of movement. You immediately move in a straight line in a direction of your choice this number of feet (rounded up to the nearest 5-foot-square), halting if you reach a distance equal to your actual speed. If this movement would make you strike an object or creature of your size or larger, the movement immediately ends, you take 1d4 points of damage, and fall prone in that square. This involuntary movement provokes attacks of opportunity normally if you move through threatened squares, but does not provoke an attack of opportunity from the creature that struck you in the first place. You are staggered for 1 round after you attempt to use this feat, whether or not you succeed. Weapon Finesse (Combat) (from Ninja trick) You are trained in using your agility in melee combat, as opposed to brute strength. Benefit: With a light weapon, elven curve blade, rapier, whip, or spiked chain made for a creature of your size category, you may use your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier on attack rolls. If you carry a shield, its armor check penalty applies to your attack rolls. Special: Natural weapons are considered light weapons. class abilities: poison use sneak attack +1d6 when flanking or foe is denied dex Ki Pool (Su) At 2nd level, a ninja gains a pool of ki points, supernatural energy she can use to accomplish amazing feats. The number of points in the ninja’s ki pool is equal to 1/2 her ninja level + her Charisma modifier. As long as she has at least 1 point in her ki pool, she treats any Acrobatics skill check made to jump as if she had a running start. At 10th level, she also reduces the DC of Acrobatics skill checks made to jump by 1/2 (although she still cannot move farther than her speed allows). By spending 1 point from her ki pool, a ninja can make one additional attack at her highest attack bonus, but she can do so only when making a full attack. In addition, she can spend 1 point to increase her speed by 20 feet for 1 round. Finally, a ninja can spend 1 point from her ki pool to give herself a +4 insight bonus on Stealth checks for 1 round. Each of these powers is activated as a swift action. A ninja can gain additional powers that consume points from her ki pool by selecting certain ninja tricks. The ki pool is replenished each morning after 8 hours of rest or meditation; these hours do not need to be consecutive. If the ninja possesses levels in another class that grants points to a ki pool, ninja levels stack with the levels of that class to determine the total number of ki points in the combined pool, but only one ability score modifier is added to the total. The choice of which score to use is made when the second class ability is gained, and once made, the choice is set. The ninja can now use ki points from this pool to power the abilities of every class she possesses that grants a ki pool. Ninja Tricks As a ninja continues her training, she learns a number of tricks that allow her to confuse her foes and grant her supernatural abilities. Starting at 2nd level, a ninja gains one ninja trick. She gains one additional ninja trick for every 2 levels attained after 2nd. Unless otherwise noted, a ninja cannot select an individual ninja trick more than once. Tricks marked with an asterisk (*) add effects to a ninja’s sneak attack. Only one of these tricks can be applied to an individual attack and the decision must be made before the attack is made. ninja tricks: Combat Trick Benefit: A ninja who selects this trick gains a bonus combat feat. - Weapon Finesse (see feats) equipment: haramaki dogslicer [dice=to hit=1d20+7][dice=dmg if hits]1d4+1[/dice] 19-20/x2 S (fragile) dagger [dice=to hit=1d20+7][dice=dmg if hits]1d3+1[/dice] 19-20/x2 P nunchaku [dice=to hit=1d20+7][dice=dmg if hits]1d4+1[/dice] 20/x2 B +2 to disarm backpack bedroll 2 pouches caltrops flint & steel grappling hook rope 50' waterskin hip flask thieves' tools shinobi shozoku (old, tattered, no bonus to stealth) 7 days of rations incl street meat bag of shiny rocks and feathers spent: 60gp 6sp starting gold: 160 remaining 99gp 4sp from saving the goat and returning it: 13gp, 24sp, and 5cp. (needs to be divided among party but Gurrr has it for now.) background: Blaktalon is I. Greatest of my litter... not biggest or strongest... but cleverest and fastest was Blaktalon. Destined for great things was Blaktalon... could sneak into town and steal anything from stupid longshanks. Blaktalon had favor of father-chief, who not eat Blaktalon. Bad longshanks caught Blaktalon one night stealing from longshanks. Blaktalon wasn't fast enough that night! Oh no! Bad longshanks tell Blaktalon he has poh-ten-shul, say mean has good future. He lock Blaktalon up like whelp and feed Blaktalon many strange things. Make Blaktalon stronger and faster. He tell funnytalk longshanks teach Blaktalon better sneak sneak, better fight, use strange longshanks weapons. Blaktalon fool funnytalk longshanks and learn all, then sneak away. Blaktalon try go home, but strange light from sky faster than Blaktalon, too, and all go bright and shiny sparkly like lights in sky. Blaktalon FLY into sky and go inside strange lights. When Blaktalon wake up, me laying on strange table with brightlight longshanks making pokings and proddings. Blaktalon shriek and fight but brightlight longshanks not let Blaktalon go. Me bite and claw and kill many brightlight longshanks. Brightlight longshanks finally give up and let Blaktalon go. Drop Blaktalon back down... Owies and hurtzes us, but me free. Blaktalon run home to father-chief, but father-chief dead and new chief, Big-Gut-Mutt, not like Blaktalon. Him say Blaktalon will want be chief now and him want kill and eat Blaktalon so me run hide. Now Blaktalon need new tribe. Blaktalon tried look for father-chief's gobbos who ran too... make new tribe when find... but not find any. Bad Chief Big-Gut-Mutt kill all, me think. So now Blaktalon look for new tribe to join.. **** Blaktalon find many tribes but no one want Blaktalon... Blaktalon learn too much longshanks talk and fight stuff. Other Gobbos say Blaktalon too strange. Blaktalon wander alone for many moons. Take what Blaktalon need and go to longshanks towns. They no want Blaktalon too. Blaktalon too much like longshanks for gobbos,,, too much like gobbo for longshanks. No one want Blaktalon. Many more moons alone. **** After 3 years of wandering the wilderness and small towns near home, me left the beautiful green forests and marshes. Heard of gobbo tribes far away and traveled for many weeks on boat over water... Arrived Absalom but few gobbos there, so took other boat south to Osirion, where longshanks Drangle say more gobbos live. Me not like dry, hot sands. Longshanks here not friendly either, but not hate Blaktalon like longshanks near home. Me learn me do things for longshanks, longshanks give me food, shelter, shinies. Not family but not not-family either. Longshanks call this 'work'. Me work for much shinies. Travel all over hot, dry lands, keeping longshanks wagons safe. Me miss family and other gobbos, but meet many big gobbo friends in this place what longshanks call desert. **** Me come to Katapesh as caravan guard. Many weeks with no work now. Me am hungry and need more work. Maybe me will find caravan going north to Osirion. Me known there, find more work. **** trying to give the impression of Blaktalon's growth and change over time, gaining better use of the common tongue as he is exposed more to humans and less to other goblins. Also, brought him to Katapesh to be able to be drawn into the game more easily... actual city of 'recruitment' can be adjusted to fit the campaign better of course personae of background: bad longshanks = Belal Mystoff funnytalk longshanks = Hiroji Abe, a ninja from Minkai in Belal's employ brightlight longshanks = space pirates (see traits) background skills taken: handle animal, slt of hand plans for future: feats: dodge, mobility, underfoot, tanglefeet |
