Questionnaire:

1) How do others make you feel? Do you like being the center of attention or being left alone; is there such a thing as a stranger to you or do you even know what it's like to have a friend? Things like that.
Mok likes to be alone, most of the time, but that does not mean completely alone. While he is distrustful of most people, he still craves social interaction, even if he is not the one interacting. Years in “The Pit” and being shackled alone in his cell has caused the orc to have mild Autophobia (fear of being alone). Because of this, Mok seeks out public places, usually taverns and bars, but usually sits alone.
2) Name one thing you value most. Then name one thing you could lose. These could be ideals, physical possessions, relationships, etc..
Mok treasures his freedom most of all. Being able to decide for himself and being beholden to no one is his most cherished possession. Everything else to him is somewhat transient. Personal possession means little to the orc, but something given to him by a friend might be different, if that ever happens!
3) What do you fear? What do you hate?
Not surprisingly, Mok fears being taken captive and losing his freedom. He hates slavers and those who make their living of the pain of others. He will go out of his way to make life difficult for these people.
4) What do you desire? What do you love?
Mok has no idea what he desires or loves. Being free was his purpose in life up to now, and having achieved it, he is not sure what to do. Still being young, he has not had much experience in interacting with people, so is very awkward.
5) You have (at least) one secret. What is it?
Mok killed his brothers in “The Pit”. Most people just see an orc fighting and orc, but unfortunately Mok was pitted against his brothers and cousins. To survive he had to kill them one by one, and in the process lost much of his empathy and compassion.
6) Have you done something Notable? What was it?
Earning his freedom was all he has earned that he feels any pride in, but not necessarily how he did it.
7) Are you in charge or do you let others take that roll? Do you rebuke authority or revel in it?
Mol is very much his own orc, but he does realize he is young and does not have much experience in the world, so will grudgingly take suggestions from those he deems worthy.
8) Do you follow through on your promises and obligations? Or do you delay or avoid? Do you feel guilty when you don't uphold them?
Mok is a very straight forward orc. As he frequently says, “The shortest path is a straight line”, and while this has got him in plenty of difficult situations, he still feels that this ideology is the best.
9) What are your opinions on Good and Evil? Do they exist? Or is it all shades of Grey? Where do you see yourself?
Having seen very little that could be called “good” in his life, Mok always assumes the worst and is almost always surprised if it does not happen. Evil is all around, and what little “good” he has seen seems weak and powerless.

History:

Grommok, or Mok as he likes to be called, was born in the slave pits. A short and particularly ugly creature, he was sold to a manager of pit fighters at the age of 6. He was trained to attack first and was forced to hone his fighting skills against a variety of wild animals, including dog, badgers and in one fight, a wolverine. Once his owners felt he was ready, he was sent against other fighters, some of those being his own brothers. While he won most of his battles, he still bore the marks of fighting, as well as the lash-marks of a slave.
One day all this changed, when he was led, not to the fighting pit, but outside! This was the first time he had actually felt the sun and cool breeze, but he did not have time to savour either, as he was instructed to get into the back of a wagon and cover himself in hay and not to make a sound. It was not until they were out of the city that the group revealed themselves to be a cult invested in the freeing of slaves.
He stayed with the group, at first learning from other ex-slaves how to function in the world, and then becoming a teacher himself for newly freed slaves. He might have stayed with the group for longer, but their cell was discovered, and they needed to flee. He followed one of the cultists to the docks where he boarded a large ocean-going ship. Seems he was a pilot and helping free slaves was a side project he indulged in. Feeling responsible for the young orc, for Mok was only 9 or 10 years old at this time, he took him in hand and began to teach him about steering a ship. For about a year Mok was happy to be in the fresh, open air of the ocean, but soon he longed for land under his feet.
He left the ship and his mentor with only a few possessions and a little money in his pouch. Unsure what to do with himself, he wandered the streets for a while, until a weird, mechanic dog-like creature started following him. At first, he thought it was trying to hunt him for food, but it soon became apparent that it was only looking for some companionship. He tried to run the creature off, but deep down he was touched that the beast would pick him to attach itself to. As it got late, he and his new ‘friend’ headed for a tavern to find some food and drink and maybe a place to sleep.
