Hi,
just starting to grasp the Pathfinder Rules (coming from old AD&D times). I have a question with reagrd to starting spells:
It seems all spellcasters can select their known spells from the full list of available spells. How do I give than the player a feeling of finding something new in a dungeon. If all spells are already known to him, than he will never have this "Oh, a new spell" feeling during adventures.
Also, the sheer number of available spells will break a newcomers mind. I cannot expect a newcomer to skim through ALL available spells for his class.
Is anyone using random spell selection rules for this purpose ? Or all of you giving a 1st level newbie the full list of 1st level spells to select ?
Any comment appreciated.
