About Grevus
Grevus Joriss was born and raised in Gralton, his mother being a high-born refugee from Galt, and his father a diplomat from Kyonin. He was intensively educated, but although he had an excellent memory, it seemed that the more he learned, the more confused he became. Brought up in the worship of Desna, and taught the River Freedoms code, he saw many injustices within the River Kingdoms and Kyonin which he couldn’t reconcile. If a man came by a little luck and gained something, but someone stronger took it away, what good was luck? And having freedom seemed like a good idea, but how could you really make free choices if everyone was lying to you?
Perhaps matters had to be helped along. If someone strong took something from the weak, then perhaps someone stronger ought to retrieve it and give it back! If people live behind a curtain of lies, then perhaps someone ought to expose the lies!
And perhaps that someone should be Grevus!
But...how do you find out who is in the wrong? How do you find out what is true? You can’t trust what people tell you. Maybe you have to go find it out for yourself.
